Chapter 12: The Originals

By the time Jake and I got home, Addison had left for work. Kayla had also left for school. She must've taken the bus. I charged my phone until I saw all the missed calls. I called Addison back while Jake took a shower. Both of our feet were covered with dirt. I washed mine off with a hose. Addison yelled at me through the phone before she said that she will call into the school and I can go late. After I ended the call, I took a quick five minute shower and got ready. My bag was ready and on my back as I grabbed four oatmeal cookies and shoved them into my mouth. My appetite had really grown. Jake came downstairs and offered seven more pop tarts.

"You're gonna have one big appetite now. This won't be enough. How long will you be in school?"

"I'm going late so I will only have three hours."

"Ok, good. Try to grab lunch on the way home."

"Yeah sure, bye."

Jake nodded his head and I stepped out. The car was still there.

As I was opening the door, another car revved its engine around the corner. I turned to look towards the source of the sound and saw a BMW 7 Series pull up in front of the driveway. The windows were all tinted black. The driver's window pulled down, and There was Katie. She was wearing a leather jacket, her long black hair in light curls.

"Katie? What are you doing here? School started hours ago" I asked her.

Before now I was very excited to meet Katie and finally confront her, but now I had to work on speaking without my voice quivering. The thought that my enemy or friend is standing right in front of me, made chills go down my spine. Would she want to put aside our differences of vampire and ware wolf? Would she want to-

"Yeah, I had a feeling you would come late" she added innocently.

She smirked.

"Well what are you waiting for? Get in" she motioned with her long beautiful fingers.

It took me a second to realize she was being seductive. And it was working. I still wasn't sure if it's a good idea to get in a car with a vampire. But what could I say? She's offering me a ride, and if I deny it she would get suspicious. I would have to stay as far as possible from her in the car. My scent could be explained by Jacob's scent. I live with him. As long as there is no physical touch, then she wouldn't be able to feel my burning hot skin. I can just wave off any comments about my physical growth.

I nodded and got in the car. I buckled my seatbelt. My back pressed against my door and I controlled my breathing. Katie looked my way and smiled. She drove in silence until I saw her going in an unexpected route.

"Wh-where are you going, I think you took a wrong turn." My voice quivered involuntarily.

"Oh no, this is the right direction. I'm just going to grab some coffee." Her voice rang like bells in an unnerving manner.

The car was approaching a corner. Katie turned my direction and smiled, before she swerved the vehicle around the corner. The force launched me towards my door. The transition had caused my body to gain inhuman capabilities. The door buckled around my shoulders. My senses then flared up- every sound, smell, and the tiniest specs of dust became clear to me. I felt myself expand. No, I am phasing. I can't phase in front of Katie. By the time the car had settled down, I was too late. My muscles had become more defined and bits of fur had begun to show. My eyes snapped up to meet two black eyes. Katie's eyes had turned black, and dark black veins began to sprout from the bottom of her eyes to her cheeks. Her luscious lips parted and a set of porcelain white teeth with two fangs appeared.

I gasped and clenched the seats. Katies hands then let go of the steering wheel and reached out to me. Within a matter of seconds she had pulled me out of the car along with her. I heard a deafening crash as the car collided with a lamp post. Katie's hands, still on my shoulders, launched me into the woods surrounding the road. My body flew a good fifty yards, when it smashed against more than one tree. Splinters of wood flew around me. I felt myself shudder as I began to phase. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, a sharp object flew right at me. It stabbed deep into my throat. I gasped. My phasing stopped. My hands flew crazily into the air as I gasped and choked on my own blood. The forest began to swirl around me, when the object was finally pulled out of me. I gasped.

"So my informer was right, you really did phase. Not only that, but you have a pretty good control over your phasing." Her voice rang like bells but also dripped of acid.

"You-you stabbed me!?" I yelled.

"Yes, and I believe that it's time you learn some vampire-ware wolf history." She casually crouched down next to me.

"What?"

"I believe that now we have gotten quite close..." her fingers snaked up my arms to grip my shoulders.

Katie deliberately pushed out her chest towards me. Her breath hit my face like cold winter air. I squirmed under grasp. She must've been a very strong vampire. I could barely move under her grasp.

"you should meet my family." She finished.

Before I could utter another syllable, she threw me over her shoulder and ran through the forest. When I ran through the forest, everything was clear to me. But when Katie ran, my vision blurred a bit. She is not only strong, but unbelievably fast. Her feline body shot through the forest like a speeding bullet, maybe faster. About fifteen to twenty minutes later, she finally slowed down. She was still running, but not at her full speed. My vision was now perfectly clear. Then she slowed down to a walk and then stopped. I heard a door open. Then she lifted me up and threw me into a house. I expected falling into more wood, instead, another pair of marble hands, like Katie's, gripped my arms. This vampire didn't throw me, but gently placed me on the carpet floor. I looked up to see a familiar face. Rebekah, Katie's sister.

"What do you think you're doing?" The last time she had spoken, it was in an American accent. Now she is speaking in a perfect English accent.

Her blond hair hung in loose curls around her face. She wore a white top and black pants.

"Executing my plan, that's all." Katie replied.

My head turned towards her. She too was speaking in an English accent.

"Your plan was to ask him about the moonstone, not beat the life out of him. He's only seventeen." Rebekah spoke with a sense of care, protectiveness, and leadership.

"Oh please, I plan on killing him and his entire band of dogs too." Katie said.

"Kat please, leave him alone. Let me assist you, I can find out about the moonstone without hurting him."

Katie was about to reply, when another voice interrupted her. This voice too spoke in an English accent.

"Come on Rebekah, you're taking away the fun. Let us make him suffer for a bit."

A man walked into the room. He was tall, pale, and had golden eyes. His hair was a golden blonde, a lot like Rebekah's, bit it had a muskier color to it.

My pain had ceased a bit, so I sat up. The man smiled at me. He then walked towards me and crouched down in front of me.

"Hello, I'm Klaus Mikaelson, the first vampire. The oldest of the rest of the original family of vampires and witches. Every other vampire ever has been created by myself, my younger brother Elijah, or my younger sister Rebekah. I see you have already met Katherine and Rebekah." He gestured towards Katie and Rebekah.

"Katherine?" I couldn't recognize that name.

"Yes, Katherine Pierce, that's my name given by Klaus. Katerina Petrova is my real name. Katie is just a disguise." Katie, or, Katherine, said.

"I apologize on the behalf of my brother, Elijah, and Katherine's brother, Kol for not being here."

"Klaus, can you please not harm the boy?" Rebekah pleaded.

"Dear sister, I believe you have a date with Marcel. You should really get going." Klaus looked at Rebekah lovingly.

When she didn't move, his expression immediately changed to one of rage. Rebekah quickly complied. She gave me one apologetic look and ran out the door.

"Let's get started love." He got up and walked to Katherine. His hand reached out to her face and he pulled it closer to kiss her. Instead of accepting the kiss, she moved away. Klaus chuckled and walked to a separate room. Katherine looked down at me.

"You never saw that."

I quickly nodded my head.

Klaus returned with a pile of chains in his hands. He and Katherine began to chain me. The hung my arms against a metal pole that was attached to a stone pillar. My wrists were tied together and my feet hung above the floor. I looked up to see two black vampiric eyes. I knew that I was about face unbearable pain for who knows how long. I held my breath and got ready.
