Ray sat in the empty dorm of team RAYS. In her hands was a picture of them.
*Riiinnnnngggggg
Her alarm clock went off signaling class was soon to begin. She placed the picture on the drawer before standing up and turning it off. Tightening her red tie she exited the room not before turning back.
"I'm off, Audrey, Yas, Sky." Ray said each name with care. She closed the door and walked off to class.
Instead of going to her normal classes she was to join team RWBY's class. It was to be able to keep an eye on them.
If it wasn't for the fact Ruby was a silver eyed warrior Ray wouldn't have excepted this assignment. Ray took it as her duty to make sure Ruby doesn't go down the same path as her.

Ray gently opened the door to Professor Port's classroom. All the students looked her way. Team RWBY didn't appear to be here yet.
"Ah, Miss Adler!" Port exclaimed. "Is their something you need?"
Without a word Ray walked up to Port and handed him a letter. He took the letter and read it.
"I see..." Port handed the letter back. "Well than have a seat Miss Adler." Ray bowed her head before heading to the back of the class.
The students curious eyes followed her. Team Cardinal/Cardin shivered in fear as she walked past them.
"Well class, I'm Peter Port. But call me Professor Port." He smiled at the students.
Suddenly the door boomed opened and Team RWBY AND JNPR fell into the class.
"Just on time." Port locked at his watch. "Now hurry on, we got class to start."
"Yes Professor." They groaned in unison. They picked their seats, team RWBY in the front and JNPR near the back.
I blanked out as I stared at team RWBY from behind. Ruby kept fall asleep on and off from Port's lectures.
Then Ruby started to snicker at a doodle she made of Port. I was to far to see though. She showed it to her team, they snickered but the Weiss Schnee her partner didn't seem to like it.
Port cleared his throat making them pay attention again. He continued his story, which I heard about a million times already.
"In the end the beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity. And I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high. Celebrated, as a hero." Port exclaimed with pride. "The moral of this story? A true huntsman must be honorable. A true huntsman must be dependable. A true huntsman must be strategic... well educated and wise!!"
Weiss was getting more ticked off as Ruby started playing with her supplies, but what drew the straw was her picking her nose.
Weiss reminded me of Audrey when we first met.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ugh!! You idiot, how can you be our leader!!!" Audrey exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, Audrey." I sheepishly smiled.
"I should've been the leader!!" She huffed.
"Now, now Audrey." Sky cut in on our conversation.
"What!" She glared at Sky.
"We all know you wouldn't have been a good leader." Sky giggled. I snorted.
Yas sighed at her partners antics.
"WHY YOU!!!"
"Oh no she angry!!" Sky sarcastically exclaimed making her Audrey even more angry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I do sir!!!" Weiss exclaimed loud enough to snap me out of my memory.
"And now one more person..." he encouraged the students. He's eyes surfed over the students stopping on me. "How about Miss Adler? I'm sure they'll love to see how you'll fare!"
I simply nodded before heading out to gear up. Weiss slowly followed behind me. As we were walking I could feel her eyes on me.
"Is there something you need, Miss Schnee?" I didn't turn around.
"Ah...I was wondering what you were doing in a first year class instead of a third year..."
"don't worry about it."
After we geared up I 'let' Weiss go first. More like I wanted to see what she could do, but anyways...
"Go Weiss!" Yang exclaimed pumping her fists.
"Fight Well!" Blake took out a flag from no where and started waving it around.
"Represent team RWBY!!" Ruby added jumping up and down.
"I'm trying to focus here, Ruby!!" Weiss irritatedly shouted.
She looked at the monster and got in position. The monster charged at her, she managed to dodge.
"Go for its belly, Weiss!!! It has no armor!!!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss yelled. Ruby looked sad.
'Teamwork...' I made a mental note of what to work on.
Sliding across the room she hit the Grimm, but the hard armor made it get deflected. The Grimm charged at her once again and knocked her rapier out of her hands.
"Oh what are you going to do without your weapon now!!?" Port exclaimed.
Weiss ran for her weapon, she managed to get it and get back in position.
'Need to fix their hand to hand combat...' I added to my
mental notes.
The Grimm charged at her again. She used a glyph and blocked the grimm's charge. She jumped of a glyph and pierced the grimm's stomach killing it.
"Bravo!! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a try huntress in training." Port clapped his hands. "Now how about Miss Adler?"
I walked up to the front of the class. I twirled my dual blades, Night Strike, around. I got in my position.
"Ready." Port nodded his head and opened the cage.
I had one of my blades behind my back and the other I threw at the Grimm. The blade scratched the belly, but it wasn't deep enough.
The Grimm roared as it charged at me. I flipped over it and grabbed my blade that was stuck to the wall.
As it turned around to charge at me again I kicked it in the face and flipped the Grimm over. I stabbed it's belly and it disintegrated into dust.
I got up and wiped the little sweat on my face. Port clapped his hands.
"It appears you have grown stronger." He smiled. I sheathed my Night Strike. "Well we have no more time. Pls make sure to read the assigned books, you are dismissed."
Weiss stormed out of the classroom while Ruby quickly followed after. I walked out the door too following them further behind.
Weiss!!" Ruby called after her
"What?" Weiss turned around with a irritated expression. I hide in the corner.
"What's wrong with you? Why are you being-" Ruby began.
"What's wrong with me!? What's wrong with you!!" Weiss shouted at Ruby. "You're supposed to be a leader and all you've benevolent so far is a nuisance!"
"What did I do?" Ruby scoffed.
"That's just it, you've done nothing to earn you position." Weiss pointed her finger at Ruby. "Back in the forrest you acted like a child and you've only continued to do so!"
Suddenly someone put a hand on my shoulder. I jumped, but when I looked back it was Ozpin. I glared at him as he put a finger to his mouth to be quiet. I huffed before turning my attention back to the duo.
"Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about, working together? I thought you believed in acting as a team." Ruby fiddled with her fingers.
"Not a team led by you." Weiss complained. "I've studied, and trained, and quite frankly, I deserve better. Ozpin made a mistake." She walked off leaving behind Ruby.
Ozpin tapped my shoulder and pointed towards Weiss and then he pointed at himself to Ruby. He wanted me to talk to Weiss and he'd talk with Ruby. I complied although I didn't want to listen to him I would've done it anyways.
I snuck around Ruby as Ozpin talked to her. As I walked towards the direction where Weiss went I saw her on the porch.
I walked up to her and leaned on the bars surprising Weiss.
"Miss Adler!!" Weiss exclaimed.
"Pls don't call me that. I'm not that old." I grimaced. "Just call me Ray."
"Okay then...Ray." Weiss hesitated. There was a long silence.
"...I saw that back there.." I commented. Weiss stiffened.
"And?"
"You..." I stopped and looked at her. "You're just like her..."
"Her?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.
"My team mate, Audrey Sheldon, the same thing happened to us." I looked at the orange sky. "She thought I was childish, naive, stupid."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I love you" Audrey smiled as the Grimm clawed at her. She spat out blood.
"AUDREY!!!!!!"
Weiss POV
Ray stared into the distance like she was lost in a memory. Her eyes were full of pain, sorrow, but mostly regret.
I noticed something about her eyes. They were silver, like Ruby's. No not like them, it was the exact same shade of silver.
"In the end, she was right." Ray chuckled dryly. "But...give Ruby a chance. It's only been one day. Who knows maybe she'll be amazing. Just like her mom." Ray mumbled the last part.
"Huh? What did you say?" I asked.
"Give her a chance, Weiss." Ray put her hand on my shoulder and walked away.
