Ch 6

"Finally, speaks!" The blonde monkey, Sun, exclaimed. "Nearly two days and you've given me nothing but small talk and weird looks."

She stared at Sun. "Yeah, like that."

"Sun...are you familiar with the White Fang?" Blake asked him.

"Of course! I don't think there's a Faunus on the planet who hadn't heard of them." Sun set his tea cup down."Stupid, holier-than-thou creeps that use force to get whatever they want. Bunch of freaks if you ask me."

"I was...once a member of the White Fang." Blake mumbled. Sun started choking on his tea.

"Wait a minute, 'you' were a member of the White Fang?" Sun coughed.

"That's right. I was a member for most of my life actually. You could almost say I was born into it." Blake responded.

"Back then, things were different. In the ashes of war, the White Fang was meant to be a symbol of peace and unity between humans and the Faunus."Blake began. They didn't even notice a certain silver haired girl sitting next to them.

"Of course, despite being promised equality, the Faunus were subjected to discrimination and hate. Humanity still though of us as lesser beings. And so, the White Fang rose up as a voice of our people. And I was there. I was at the front of every rally. I took part in every boycott. And I actually thought we were making a difference...but I was just a youthful optimist.."

"Then, five years ago, our leader steeped down, and a new one took his place. A new leader, with a new way of thinking. Suddenly our peaceful protests were being replaced with organized attacks. We were setting fire to shops that refused to serve us. Hijacking cargo from companies that used Faunus labour. And the worst part was? It was working. We were being treated like equals. But not out of respect...out of fear." Blake grimly said."So I left, I decided I no longer wanted to use my skills to aid in their violence. And instead, I would dedicate my life to becoming a Huntress. So here I am. A criminal hiding in plain view. All with the help of a little, black bow." Blake's bow twitched slightly.

"So...have you told your friends any of this?" Sun asked.

*slurp

They jumped at the sudden noise. When Blake looked to her side she saw Ray sitting their drinking her tea.

"Aww man I'm out of tea." Ray mumbled setting the tea down.

"Where the heck did you come from!?" Sun exclaimed.

"I came from home." Ray expertly said.

"Are you here to bring me back?" Blake glared at Ray.

Ray laughed. "Absolutely not. I can't force you to come nor will I ever. After all the second you set foot into Beacon, became a member of team RWBY. You became my family." Ray smiled warmly at the young Faunus who was stunned.

Ray hugged Blake protectively even though there was no threat. To Blake her hug felt like she was being hugged by an overprotective sister. She could tell Ray was worried.

"Just don't disappear..." Ray whispered. "Two days is to long!"

These words echoed in Blake's ears. She remembered what Coco had told them about Ray.

'To put it simply they died and Ray was the only one left.' It was what Coco told them.

Blake slowly understood why Ray felt like this. She was worried of losing the people she loved again. Blake slowly brought up her arms to awkwardly hug Ray back.

"What are we doing here?" Ray blinked. Before Blake could answer Sun had returned.

"Did I miss anything?" Sun asked.

"Not really. They've offloaded all the crates from the boat. Now they're sitting there." Blake responded.

"Hey! What are we doing?" Ray asked again.

"We're watching these people." Blake plainly responded. Suddenly a helicopter came over head.

When it reached lands a few White Fang members came out along with a familiar red head.

"Oh no."

"Is it them?" Sun asked trying to confirm.

"Yeah, it's then." Blake sounded sad.

"Alright. Grab the tow Cables." WF member 1 ordered the others.

"You didn't think they were behind it did you?"

"No. I think deep down I knew. I just didn't want to be right." Blake's face was unreadable.

"Hey! What's the hold up?" The red headed guy exclaimed. "We're not exactly the most inconspicuous bunch of thieves at the moment, sooo. Why don't you animals try to pick up the pace."

"This isn't right. The White Fang would never work with a human. Especially not one like that." Blake shook her head. Ray came into realization.

"I know that guy..." Ray mumbled. They looked at her. "Roman Torchwick, asshole of a guy." She scowled.

And with that Blake got up and prepared to jump off.

"Hey! What are you doing!?" Sun exclaimed. But it was to late she ahead already jumped down at Roman.

She held the blade to Roman's neck. "What—oh for fu-" Roman rolled his eyes.

"Nobody move!" Blake exclaimed. The WF members took out their weapons.

"Woah, take it easy there little lady." Roman said. With Blake's free hand she untied her Bow.

"Brothers of the White Fang. Why are you aiding this scum?" Blake asked not talking of the sword. Once they saw her ears they became hesitant.

"Heh, oh kid. Didn't you get the memo?" Roman laughed.

"What are you talking about?" Blake glared at him.

"The White Fang and I are going in on a joint business venture together." Roman smirked.

"Tell me what it is or I'll put an end to your little operation." Blake threatened. But the helicopter had interrupted their chat.

"I wouldn't exactly call it a little operation." Roman said. The helicopters distracted Blake causing her to note realize what he was doing.

"BLAKE!!" Ray pushed Blake out of the blast Roman had created with his cane. The blast echoed loudly.

"Oh ho ho, Ray Adler I didn't expect to see you here." Roman laughed.

"Yeah, it's 'nice' to see you again, asshole." Ray glared daggers at Roman. She ran at Roman as he shot with at her with his cane.

Easily dodging each bullet she tried to punch him in the face, but he dodged her. He smirked, but Blake sneaked up from behind and hit him.

Sun dealt with the WF members while Blake and Ray took care of Roman. Blake went back and forth with Roman slashing at each other. Occasionally Ray would try to get a punch in without hurting Blake.

Soon after Sun joined in shooting him as he hit hi with his stick. Ray blocked a hit by Roman that was going to hit Blake. She smirked as she punched him sending him flying. But when he got up he shot the cargo that was hanging above them forcing them to dodge.

Roman pointed his cane at Sun, but a voice stopped him. "Hey!" It was Ruby!

"Oh Hey Red! Isn't it past your bed time?" Roman exclaimed.

"Ruby? Are these people your friends?" Penny came up from behind Ruby.

"Penny, get back!" Ruby warned her. But as she wasn't looking Roman shot at her sending her flying. He laughed evilly. Penny was angered.

"Penny, wait! Stop!"Ruby tried to stop her.

"Don't worry Ruby. In combat ready!" Penny exclaimed as her swords came out of her back. As she jumped down she hit the WF members charging at her. More helicopters came and shot down at them. Penny backed up and started charging her beam at the helicopters. She hit them and they instantly exploded.

She tied down the last helicopter that was trying to escape with a cargo and moved it until it came crashing down. But as she was busy with that Roman escaped in a different helicopter.

~Later when the police came~

Yang and Weiss had arrived. Ruby instantly stood up.

"Look Weiss it's not what you think she explained the whole thing you see she doesn't actually wear a how she has kitty ears and their actually kinda cute." Ruby explained, but Weiss just walked right up to Blake.

"Weiss. I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang. Back then I was with-" Blake got interrupted by Weiss.

"Stop. Do you have any idea how long we've been searching for you?" Weiss said. "Twelve hours. That means I've had twelve hours to think about this. And in that twelve hours I've decided...I don't care!"

"You don't care?" Blake looked absolutely confused.

"You said you're not one of them anymore, right?" Weiss tilted her head slightly.

"No, I-I haven't been since I was younger-" Once again she was interrupted.

"Upupupup! I don't want hear it." Weiss stopped Blake. "All I want to know, is that next time something this big comes up you'll come to your teammates, and not some...someone else."

"Of course." Blake wiped a tear.

"Good for you, Blake." Ray patted Blake on the back.

"Yeah! Team RWBY is back together!" Ruby cheered. Everyone went closer to get into a group hug, even Sun. Weiss pointed her finger at Sun.

"I'm still not quite sure how I feel about you!" Weiss exclaimed. Ray smiled at Weiss.

"Hey wait a minute, where's Penny?" Ruby looked around.

"She probably went back to her father." Ray reassured them. "I mean her father's such a worrywart I wouldn't be surprised." She rolled her eyes.

"You seem to know Penny a lot?" Yang asked.

"Well I've seen her around, ran into her a few times...yeah." Ray smiled.

"Home sweat home..." Ray mumbled as she entered the dorm of team RAYS. The empty beds filled the room.

Ray felt tears start to well up in her eyes. She picked up the picture of her team. A cheerful bunch of idiots they were.

Ray sat on her bed, tears slipping out no longer able to keep them in. Every time saw that picture she was remembered that they gave up their lives just for her.

'Was it really worth it? Becoming stronger? Even though I now they're never coming back?'
