Chapter 39

"No!" I blurted out in a voice higher than I had intended to speak in the moment Brynna and I stepped into the yard but I couldn't be blamed for my reaction. "No, no, no," I repeated as I jerked back and Brynna glanced at me over her shoulder, raising a brow.

"What's wrong?" she asked innocently as I kept going back into the tunnel that we had taken to get here and I frowned at her. The yard I had just stepped in had dragons in it… dragons! I had been hearing growls and the flapping of wings when we walked down the tunnel but I thought it had been coming from above, not a couple of metres away from us. I was honestly a little bit pissed that she had been vague about the yard we were going to but at least she didn't let me find out that dragons were there the way Milan had done last night.
