"What's this fancy little last minute entrance?" Meryl asked with annoyance.
"We were not invited to such an important trial so we decided to come and see what was going on," Duke Riu replied. Meryl hated the smug look on her face.
"You weren't invited. Take the hint and don't come."
"Oh but you see, in the trial of someone as important as a fairy duke, the jury cannot be absent or if there is a protest, the judgement would be ruled out."
"Counselor?"
"The Duke is right, your highness."
"Then why weren't they invited?"
"Because you're already here. One fairy queen is equal to the whole council."
"But she is still a princess."
"That's the loophole they're going to use, great!" Meryl mumbled.
"Whatever, we've heard the case and I'm going to pass my verdict. You can just sit your pretty ass there and watch."
"We have a case we'd like to present against the Duke of the Daemons as well."
