Chapter 120

The bright smile on the Emperor's face made him seem like a friendly and cheerful person and for a little while, I was stunned as I stared at him. I almost couldn't believe that I was in the same room with him and as he started walking towards our table, I began to think that the servants being fearful was quite ridiculous but then I remembered that this was the man that allowed humans to be sacrificed to dragons and it didn't seem ridiculous anymore.

... Wait, why is he walking towards our table?

I instantly stiffened while his smile grew wider when he got to our table before he walked around it. I became even more nervous because I couldn't see him and I didn't want to glance over my shoulder.

"Oh, I just um…" Mercer's mother let out a nervous laugh and tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear as she leaned back in her seat. "I just want to know who she is. I mean, which house is she from? What's her last name?"
