Jim had fainted due to the hit he suffered from the beast's tail.
......
" So that's what happened" Jim exclaimed. However, he was remembering something else, something different from what he just remembered. Though he wasn't sure if what happened was a trance or not, he had a reality that this really did happen.
The memory was about him at Orphic Lake.
......
Jim was standing at Orphic Lake, the place looked rather cool in the evening. Dark clouds gathered up in the atmosphere, the waters were calm and everything looked really calm. There was a wooden bridge connecting the land to the lake.
Jim walked cautiously towards the bridge. Getting closer, he saw a pretty old man standing on the bridge stretching out his hand and cupping his palm repeatedly signifying Jim to come forward. Jim prepared his trusty ol'daggers by his side
" What possibly could this old man do"
He got on the bridge and looked at the old man.
" I never thought I would see this day" the old man spoke laughing hysterically.
";Boy you are destined to be strong, but it won't be easy"
" Do you know why I choose you?" the man asked
Jim remained silent ready to bolt out of here if the whole thing was a ploy.
" What did he choose me for?" Jim questioned himself " and why"
Jim suddenly noticed the old man's face change drastically looking behind him distraught. Before Jim could turn, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. It ended as soon as it began, but his stomach suddenly felt warm. He placed his hand on the spot and saw blood. Vomiting a mouthful of blood he noticed he was stabbed by a pole from behind towards the old man. Whoever had done that really wanted to kill him and he and the old man. His vision suddenly started going black and the sceneries before kept flashing that of the tail of the beast and the spoke he was stabbed with.
... He passed out.
.......
" So that's what happened" Jim thought.
However, he couldn't explain the strange feeling he got, and thought the whole thing was a trance. But there was only one way to find out. Jim ran out of the room, only to bump into Davis.
" Hey man, relax where are you running to?" Davis questioned.
" Davis, was I wounded yesterday evening." Jim answered with a question.
" No, not really. You walked in here weak asking for help and support, really weak.... wait a minute, why are you even asking that question, seems like the weakness really destroyed your brain."
" Never mind, thanks" Jim replied to Davis and left. He ran to the corridor of the hostel where all the bins would be kept before being thrown away. Perhaps he will probably be lucky to find his room black bin. It was differentiated with a red trimmed number 6.
On sighting the bin, Jim ran towards it and began searching for the paper. However, he didn't need to search much longer because as soon as he got closer to the bin, the purple like aura. began to glow again. This time like never before, almost blinding his eyes. One thing he didn't know was that the things he saw weren't visible to any other except him. Picking up the paper, he rushed into the hall was training was taking place before lectures and actual training would commence. Not many people were here, so entering in, he opened the paper. Nothing special happened, the wordings of the last time were still there l. Suddenly, before his very own eyes, the wordings starting from the last letter to the first strangely began to float out of the paper as quick as a bolt of lightning. The wordings immediately floated into his head. A strange feeling was felt in Jim's body, he began to see his mind take shape like a control room, a strange purple aura could be seen around his mind, taking shape like that of a human, a human of like resemblance as him, taking occupancy of the seat.
Jim I felt weak.
"Congratulations, you have successfully received and harboured THE GREAT DESTROYER SYSTEM.
Feeling exited, Jim immediately sreamed "A system, so awesome"
"Why am I not fainting?"
"No worries Great Destroyer, the side effects will soon kick in. "Great Destroyer? what....." Jim held his head as he screamed drawing attention to himself.
THUD
Jim fell flat on the ground passing out.
