Vacation

Gwen and her grandfather decided to take a vacation and revisit the place in the photos and do those recreation photos so many year later that have become popular on the internet because they thought it would be fun and neat, and a great way to get back some of those years they've lost together. While they were in New York, Ernie decided to tell Gwen about his secret illness he's had for the past ten years and how he was glad she came when she did because he only had a few years, hopefully, left to live and he wanted to spend as much time with her as he could before his passing.

As she started to cry, he wiped away her tears and told her "Don't worry Gwenie, I lived a great and full life and I don't regret a thing!" "But I do grandpa! I regret moving away from you and not getting to spend more time with you." She sobbed. "Gwenie hunny, we spent so many wonderful years and times together that it last me the rest of my life! Plus, I've had all these great memories and places we've visited on my walls that when I look at them, it just makes me smile from ear to ear." Gwen stopped crying and started to smile. Over the next few years, they spend every waking moment together. She would take him to his appointments and then out to lunch afterwords. When she would sing, he would always tell her that she needs to go and try out for the singing contests they have on television and he would vote for her. Well, with her luck, they finally make the auditions in her town, so she went and sang for them. She ended up blowing them away with her voice and made it all the way to the finals! Her grandfather passed away a few days before the finals were to begin, but her told her in a letter he wrote that if he were to pass before she could make it, that she was to keep on going and sing her heart out for him and he would be watching from heaven. So the day of the finals, Gwen sang a song she wrote for her grandfather the 'The Gentlest Man I Ever Knew'. It ended up getting her third place and I know her grandfather would have been so proud of her!

During the reading of will, her family gathered around and listened to the lawyer read it. When they finally got to Gwens name, he left her his house and all the belongings in it as long as she wanted to keep them, or do what she wants with them. The family wasn't too thrilled with the outcome of the will, but he also mentioned that if any of them were raise a fuss about what they received either during the reading, or any time after until they parish, they will forfeit their inheritance hereto and for within. I stayed with Gwen for a few more months after Ernie had passed to make sure she was going to be alright. I left her finally and went on to find my next follow.
