Chapter Forty-Six – That's why killing vampires should be considered community service!

Luther kicked the table hard, sending it slamming into a far wall and causing its destruction, he continued to shatter all the objects around him, turning the once-beautiful room into a mess of broken furniture and crockery.

"Damn b*tch! Why do you always meddle in my affairs?" He screamed.

Last night he had the target there, within reach of his hands, it was only a matter of time before he convinced the target to follow him, but the b*tch and her dogs ruined everything, now his children were looking in everywhere and no one could get any news about the target.

Luther vehemently believed that no one could resist his lips, if he had enough time he could convince anyone to do whatever he wanted, that's how Luther had lived until that moment, when his former master was killed he used his lip to escape the same end, it was through his snake tongue that he managed to convince the servants of his new master to kill their lord, it was through his tongue that he convinced some vampires to follow him to start their own family.

"Someone bring me blood!" Luther yelled.

He sat in the only chair that was still standing, a replica of a throne, he began to cheer himself, he needed to think, his brain had always been his greatest weapon, losing himself in fury would bring him no profit.

"You only go to the Scarlet Heaven bar for two things, information or entertainment, seeing how fast he left I believe he went in search of information, considering his actions so far there is a big chance he is against the cultists..."

The living room door opened and a woman dressed in a maid's uniform walked in, her skirt was too short and her cleavage was too big, her clothes barely covering what should be covered, she walked over to Luther and took the lid off a tray that she carried, revealing a bag of hospital blood.

Luther picked up the bag of blood and started sucking like a child sucking a juice box, the maid just standing there, looking at him with blank eyes.

She was a beautiful girl, her hair was dyed a sky blue color, the same color as her eyes, she have a petite body, made like a ballerina, a thin small frame, but she had her charm.

Luther made a sign with his hands and she bowed and walked out of the room, Luther continued to drink from the bag of blood until it was empty, after which he leaned back in his throne and sighed.

The blood bags were gifts from the cultists, Luther and his gang provided services for the cultists and in return they were supported with various resources, one of them was a food hotline.

Since the cultists began their plans in this city, they began to form bonds with the supernatural society, through bribery or threats, the Heralds of the new world managed to quiet all supernatural beings living in the Mid Valley City, all with the aim of avoiding draw the enemie's attention to their plans, Luther and his group ended up working closely with the cultists, performing a series of jobs.

Although Luther loved being a vampire he didn't miss the hunt at all, to him, the time when indiscriminate killing was pleasurable is gone, he was alive for too long, he can control his own impulses and, while he loved the taste of blood, he no longer needed to drink as much as a newborn vampire.

When the cultists came into contact with releasing restrictions on the hunting of humans, his sons and daughters went into a frenzy of glee, oblivious to the fact that they were becoming mere bait's, as it was common knowledge in the supernatural world that the BPD and the Church was in town but Luther didn't care much about it, his sons and daughters were replaceable, only a few among them had any value and these were smart enough not to be used as puppets, the cultists also offered a huge reward about any information about the mysterious individual who thwarted their plans, for some reason they wanted the target alive, with that reward Luther could finally leave this forsaken town, maybe move to Europe and get his own castle, maybe even get that one certificate of royalty he's craved all his life.

Meeting the mysterious being in the bar had been an extremely lucky moment, unfortunately Scarlet Heaven was neutral ground, once someone was recognized as a guest by the owner, any attempt against him on the bar grounds would have great consequences, and no one wanted to be the target of a three thousand years Cambion's rage.

Luther got up, he'd let his kids out for fun tonight, the first hunt since release, he knew many wouldn't return to the house but he hoped that at least one of those returning would have news of the target.

He was about to leave the room when the window shattered with an explosion.

Even though Luther didn't like fights, he was experienced enough to react to the unexpected, his body began to turn to mist the instant he heard the glass break, which saved him from the spear made of shadows that went through where before it was on his chest, strangely, even though the blow was avoided by his transformed body Luther still felt a little pain, as if a small part of the fog that made up his body had been destroyed.

A huge black sphere crossed the room, Luther dodged it using his fog form, but it exploded in the middle of the way, releasing a myriad of black pellets in all directions, the pellets caused immense pain to Luther's body, it was as if that dark matter ignored his fog shape and did direct damage to him.

Luther materialized his own body, transforming himself in the process into a huge mixture of man and bat, a creature born from the worst human nightmares, the small wounds in his body are refusing to regenerate, even with his supernatural abilities, he screamed at high frequency and thousands of bats invaded the room, surrounding his body and serving as a living shield.

"Show yourself you coward!" Luther yelled.

His response was more spears sent his way. Luther roared, he controlled the bats to intercept the attacks as he flew towards the window, outside he wouldn't be so at the mercy of enemy attacks.

As he approached the window, his vision was darkened by a figure that left a trail of that same black mana, a powerful kick was coming his way, Luther crossed his bat arms and defended, he and the figure fell back in the room.

"Just as I imagined, vampires are pretty strong!" The figure spoke to himself.

Luther recognized the voice, it hadn't been so long since he'd met him outside the bar and now the target was in front of him.

"How did you find me?" Luther questioned.

"I followed the smell of bat sh*t..." Locke replied, he stood up, his body was completely covered in shadow armor, he was in a attack position.

"Why are you attacking me? I thought I made it clear that I wanted to be your friend!" Luther tried to reason, almost all of his sons had left in the search, and from the force of the blows he had taken, the sons who had stayed werent even strong enough to be cannon fodder.

"Friend? Are you kidding? Do you really think I wouldn't notice your intentions behind that fake smile? Even before I knew you were one of the cultist's b*tch I was sure you are up to no good!" Locke replied, he formed two spears of shadow and held them in each hand.

Luther chuckled at Locke's statement, very few people could see his intentions behind his smile, he was an expert in manipulation and charm, and his words were like a honey trap, it looks like this time he would have to do it in the raw mode. "Too bad, I was really interested in you…" Luther sighed.

The bats around him charged towards Locke like a black cloud of death, like an enraged vortex of destruction, Locke responded to the attack by raising his spears, they merged with his arms and grew into a huge shadow shield, full of drill bits that spun in different directions, slicing the bats into pulp.

Luther yelled louder, a group of seven vampires stormed the room, they surrounded Locke who was tearing apart the bats while Luther fled towards the blood store. After killing the last of the winged rats Locke faced the surrounding vampires. Unlike Luther they didn't turn into bat creatures, their bodies only increased as their muscles grew and their teeth grew huge, their hands also took the shape of claws and they lunged like wild beasts.

Locke took the first one with a kick to the chest, he put enough force to blow the vampire far away but the blow only threw him about three feet back, the others attacked from his side and Locke dodged it, however a blow went through his defenses and hit his chest, making him take a few steps back.

The shadow armor on his chest swayed and cracked, before repairing at the expense of his mana, the vampires were quite strong physically, Locke seemed to gain in agility and strength, but if the vampires managed to surround him he would be in big trouble.

Locke needed to save his mana, Luther seemed far superior to the other vampires and he didn't know how many more vampires at that same level were there, so he used his techniques to the fullest. He created a pair of shadow spikes on both fists and used the ethereal steps, he moved like a swift ghost and approached the first vampire, hitting the spike straight in his heart.

The creature roared in pain, Locke spun the spike around inside his chest and shattered the creature's heart, he jerked his fist out and the creature fell straight to the ground, lifeless.

The other vampires didn't stop with their friend's death, they jumped on Locke together, Locke counterattacked with a spin, the momentum of the movement sent the creatures flying, he jumped over the nearest one and ripped its head off.

Seeing two of his comrades die so easily the vampires started to hesitate, Locke seized the moment and fired the two spikes, hitting the chests of two more, who fell in disbelief.

The remaining three were terrified, they ran back to the exit while Locke chased them, killing them one by one.

Locke could feel Luther running away, the vampires' 'house' was an abandoned building in the middle of a forest, the remnant of a failed construction attempt, about forty minutes walk from the outskirts of the town, Locke could feel that Luther was fleeing through the forest.

Locke spread his wings and took off into the sky, he flew at high speed and launched like a missile, plummeting in front of Luther.

Luther was back to his human form, his mouth was smeared with blood, but the small wounds on his body were still there, slowly healing. He was dragging a thin girl dressed as a maid, who had a blank expression on her face.

"Looks like I can't get away from you…" Luther said as he straightened his clothes. "What are you anyway? Few things can hurt me the way you did…" He touched one of the small wounds that oozed blood.

Locke didn't respond, he created another black spear and moved into attack position.

Luther pulled the girl dressed as a maid and grabbed her neck, putting her between him and Locke. "Easy, easy, she's still human, you know…" he reached for her neck and licked it. "She's one of our little toys, a servant to act on our behalf in the day light, but she's not to blame for anything, you know? She's just a poor human manipulated by my charm! Are you going to kill her? A poor girl?" Luther tucked a hand into her dress, tearing it, exposing the girl's nude breast.

Locke remained in attack stance, but he didn't move even an inch, his anger was seeping out of his body.

"So are you are one of thoses? The righteous type? As soon as you see a human in danger, are you compelled to save her?" Luther held the girl's exposed breast in his left hand, while he held her neck in his right, his mouth close to the girl's neck. "I bet you have human friends! maybe even a girlfriend!" Luther squeezed the girl's breast tightly. "Maybe I'll go after her when I'm done here! Will she be as fun as this little doll?"

Locke's fury was ready to hit critical mass, his mana was roaring around his body making the air shiver.

"You better calm down boy! Do you want to have this little sheep's blood on your hands? How about you undo that spear and that armor there?"

Locke didn't respond.

Luther dug one of his nails into the girl's chest, making blood flow. "Won't you change your mind?"

Locke began to calm down, the Shadowspear fell apart in his hands, he took a neutral pose and waited.

"Undo the armor!" Luther demanded.

Locke undid the armor, showing the same shape from the night at the bar, a human body with a dragon mask.

"Take off the mask!"

Locke ignored Luther's request.

"I HAVE TAKE OFF THE MASK!" Luther yelled as his fingernail opened another cut on the girl's chest.

Locke raised his hands slowly towards his face, taking off the mask very slowly, Luther had a huge smile, as soon as the mask left Locke's face he held it for a few seconds preventing Luther's view, Locke lowered the mask slowly, when his eyes were visible they glowed brightly in a golden amber color.

The glow caused Luther a bad feeling, he was ready to slash when a tentacle of shadows pierced his neck, others invaded his arms and limbs, tearing him from the inside as they paralyzed his movements, and they pulled him away from the girl, who fell to the ground. Luther tried to fight but Locke moved faster, he used all of his speed, hitting Luther in the chest, Locke's fist exploded in black flames that consumed the vampire.

Luther screamed, but the violence of the black flames was so intense it drowned out his screams, consuming him with supernatural speed. Luther died like that, not using all of his powers, dead while doing what he liked more, trying to manipulating someone.

Locke fell to the ground with the vampire's death, he had used a lot of mana on the tentacles, by the time Luther took a hostage Locke began to stretch the shadow across the ground, positioning it behind the vampire, spilling a large amount of mana on it. so the shadows would have enough power to immobilize him for as long as necessary.

Locke looked at the girl, she had passed out the same moment Luther had died, he took an elixir from the inventory and poured it into her mouth, the wounds on her breast had healed at the same moment.

"Is she going to be okay?" Locke questioned.

Tia appeared in the air next to him, she had teleported to him.

"Who knows what hell she had to go through with this bunch of monsters!" Tia commented sadly. "But she should be fine now… Damn vampires! Bloodthirsty and s*x-hungry horny beasts! That's why killing vampires should be considered a service to the community!"
