Chapter forty-eight – Praise the Lord and Pass the ammunition!

Locke spent that entire week hunting the remaining vampires, killing Luther and his seven helpers had gived him two new levels and he figured killing the other vampires would be equally rewarding, so Locke devoted himself to hunting the damm bats, but he ran into a problem.

The problem was not finding the vampires, without their boss they were like headless chickens, every night they went around the city causing extreme confusion over the commom, attacking humans in alleys and breaking into houses, it was almost as if they wanted everyone to know about their presence.

The problem was being the first to reach the vampires, the whole supernatural community was interested in keeping they existence in secret and many groups banded together to wipe out vampires out of control, the police seemed to have minimal knowledge about the supernatural word and acted quickly, evacuating humans from the attacked areas, using various excuses like gas leaks and similar things. Some soldiers, who Locke deduced were the BPD, were hunting the vampires too, it looks like it was opened the official vampire hunting season.

Locke managed to kill a few vampires, usually with a single ranged attack, a flaming shadow spear directly to the chest, fire seemed to have an extreme effect on the damn leeches, but several times he encountered other groups that hunted vampires, he always he watched from afar, camouflaged, usually from the air. One of the groups was known to him, the Lycandra werewolves, they tore the vampires to pieces in their beast forms, they noticed Locke cloaked flying in the air, watching them, but beyond the clear expression of contempt they ignored him, continuing their hunt. The second group hunting the vampires was the group of soldiers in gray gear, they are looking too advanced for the urban environment, even though they didn't have any symbols or marks on their armor, Locke was pretty sure they were the soldiers of the Bureal, he realized that these soldiers, after saving the victims, injected something into them, he noticed that the people who were still healthy and receiving the injections looked confused and, after a while, they left as if nothing happened.

The third group was the strangest that Locke had ever seen, it was a group of nuns and priests, dressed in cassocks, but unlike those found in churches these were armed to the teeth, covered in bulletproof vests and carrying heavy weaponsof high caliber, they marched on vampires in a killing spree, as they chanted Latin words, Locke realized their bodies emitted a strong golden light, Locke seriously wondered if he wasn't going crazy, something about seeing a nun with a shotgun beating a vampire makes people seriously question their sense of reality.

Locke was surprised how everyone seemed to ignore the chaos of the previous nights, there was no news of the attacks on television or in the newspapers, he did some research and found that most people who were wounded and needed to go to the hospital came in for a variety of reasons, but none of them mentioned violence caused by vampires.

"The Bureal is really good at keeping things a secret... I really need a net like that... Too bad they're such *ssholes..." Locke commented to himself.

Locke came home empty-handed that night, he didn't want to get in trouble with any groups, the other day he started to focus on other things, the end of June was getting closer and closer, and Locke found himself with an important issue to resolve, his birthday was approaching as well the end of vacation and Locke was seriously thinking about what he should do with his life, continue college seemed useless to him after he found out about the supernatural and all the threats that put earth on check, but he didn't want to totally give up his human life yet, so he decided he would make an effort, plus he only had a semester to finish college.

Since the vampires got out of control, Locke escorted Hanna back home every night, he realized that Azalea had posted police officers to watch her own house, and Locke could see that she knew more than she let on about the city supernatural world.

With the arrival of the weekend it was time for Hanna to have her first class with the witches, the girl was extremely excited about the idea of learning magic, Locke left her with Wolde and went to the garden to meet Angèle, who had requested his presence.

The same Indian girl led him to the witch, Angele was sitting at a table in the garden, drinking tea, but once she was dressed in a veil that covered her whole body, but this time the veil was white, and Locke could see slightly the appearance of the witch.

Locke sat across from the witch and accepted the cup of tea he was offered, sipping it calmly.

"I believe that the contact with the Burreal was not as positive as I expected..." Angèle commented.

"You nailed it, Agent Durand showed a great interest in capturing me soo... even if I had the goal of offering help I don't think the Burreal and I are going to have a good relationship…"

Angele sighed. "Ah, Alexis! Why don't you ever listen to me, child?" She spoke in a motherly, concerned tone. "Don't take their intentions wrong, they believe they are doing the best for humanity, but they don't always make the best choices..."

"I don't intend to have any problems with them, but... If they try to imprison me..." Locke didn't need to complete the sentence.

The conversation didn't last long after that, Locke soon said goodbye, being responsible for picking up Hanna later, he went home and trained until the time the girl called him by the telephone.

That night Locke didn't go hunting vampires, he knew there weren't many vampires left in town and he preferred to spend some quality time with Hanna. After a delicious dinner prepared by Locke, the girls prepared to go to their room.

"I brought something special!" Hanna spoke with a mischievous smile. "Just enter the room when I call!" The girl ran up the stairs, followed by Tia.

Locke waited in the living room for a while, hearing laughter coming from upstairs, his curiosity was growing but he waited like a good boy.

Tia came down a while later, with a huge smile on her face. "She's ready!"

Locke walked past the fairy towards the stairs, the fairy slapped him loudly on the ass in the process, letting out a "go get her, big boy!"

When Locke entered the room he was pleasantly surprised, Hanna was lying on the bed dressed in an extremely delicious black lingerie and had sexy lacy stocking on her legs, held up by a lacy black gaterbelt.

Locke almost howled like a cartoon character, he kissed all the girl's body wuth passion, his blood boiled with lust and he became a beast, and they did it a dozens of times until Hanna passed out from exhaustion, with a satisfied smile on her face.

"Dude, you need to take it easy on her!" Tia's voice startled Locke, ringing in his mind.

"Are you watching?" Locke asked.

"Don't be silly, Locke!" The fairy replied. "Of course I was watching! Plus I was there the first time, and every other times! Just because my size was smaller didn't mean I didn't have fun watching…"

"…" Locke was speechless for a moment, but decided he didn't care that much. "I'm going to sleep, are you coming?"

"Naaaa... You and Hanna can have the bed all to yourselves for today, I'll play some more around here!"

Locke agreed with the fairy's words and went to sleep, he was laying down beside Hanna when another sentence passed through his mental link with Tia.

"I hope when my turn comes you are so excited..."

***

Sunday started well, Locke had breakfast with the girls, Tia went back to sleep right after eating, only she knew how late she had been playing the night before, Locke and Hanna went for a run on the lakeside, when they came back Locke decided to introduce the girl to the dryad in the forest.

The week before Locke had introduced Hanna to little Alraune, and the girl had fallen in love with the little vegetable creature, finding her cute in every way, in love with her baby-like appearance and her squeals of happiness every time Locke showered her, the plant also showed great interest in Hanna, laughing even more often when around her, and that's why Hanna really wanted to meet the Dryad who created the plant.

When Locke and Hanna entered the forest they were soon surrounded by the sprites, who flew around Hanna with immense joy, Locke realized they had no bad intentions, so he didn't stop the girl from interacting with them, they walked to the center of the forest, followed by the sprites that circled Hanna, landed on her shoulders or held her hair, they even brought a delicate floral wreath, which they placed on her head.

They soon arrived at the Dryad's great tree.

As they approached, the Dryad began to manifest in the tree, appearing naked in the middle of the log.

"You are back, my savior! And I brought a child of Gaia!" The Dryad greeted Locke happily, she seemed extremely interested in Hanna. "Come to me, child!"

The Dryad separated completely from the tree and went straight to Hanna with open arms, she hugged the girl with extreme affection. Both Locke and Hanna were confused, Hanna mainly, a naked woman who had come out of a tree hugged her affectionately for no apparent reason, she looked at Locke as if asking for answers, but Locke was just as confused as she was.

After Dryad released Hanna, she and Locke finally managed to talk to the tree, throughout the entire conversation, the Dryad looked at Hanna with eyes full of motherly love, she explained that Hanna, being a child of Gaia was like family to her, since she was also an aspect of nature, she was very happy when she heard that Hanna and Locke were together and even congratulated the girl on getting 'a good seed'.

The Dryad showed great interest in Hanna, she stated that she could teach the girl to tighten her bond with Gaia and reach a new level in her natural abilities, Hanna thought that was a great idea, learning magic with witches was interesting but she also always he wanted to understand his own gifts, meeting someone like the Dryad was a great gift, although the woman was completely naked throughout the entire conversation, not caring in the least for Locke or Hanna's presence, the girl could see that Dryad was trustworthy, and she gladly accepted the friendship and teachings of the tree.

"The best way to connect with Gaia is through her spirit, so let's meditate! But first, take some of my sap!" Dryad reached into the tree and pulled out a gourd, she offered it to Hanna.

The girl was embarrassed by the proposal for a moment, Locke had told her where Dryad's sap came from so she hesitated for a second, but Hanna was keen to learn more about herself, she also didn't think it fair to judge Dryad the same the way she judged humans and understood that for the tree to offer its sap shouldn't be a shameful thing, so to Locke's surprise, she turned the bottle over, drinking the sweet golden liquid, the taste was unlike anything else. Hanna had already tasted it, it was incredibly sweet but it wasn't a cloying taste, it was a kind of taste impossible to explain with words.

After Hanna drank some and the Dryad taught her to meditate, Locke followed his girlfriend's lead and drank some of the sap he already had, he then sat in a corner and started to meditate on his own, he realized the sap had an effect on his mind and spirit, making it easier to go into a deep meditative state.

Hanna's meditation soon began to show some result, little by little the girl began to notice something inside herself, something primitive and deep that called to her, something that gave her an enormous sense of comfort and familiarity, something that she felt that it was a very important part of herself.

Locke noticed that the girl's mana was undergoing a major transformation, he could feel that Hanna's mana was growing exponentially, at a surprising speed, in the end the girl's mana grew almost seven times, approaching what he felt coming from Angèle, almost as big as Locke's own mana.

But that growth seemed to take a toll on the girl, who began to wobble the moment she finished the meditation, Locke took her in his arms and carried her straight home.

When Hanna woke up it was almost night, Tia played on the computer while Locke was training, as soon as he realized the girl had woken up Locke served dinner, after that he took Hanna home, after kissing the girl and saying goodbye he went out on another hunt .

Locke was flying through the city's night sky, there was no longer any sign of vampire activity, so he began to believe that the other groups had already taken care of them, until he saw a scene that left him confused.

In the city's slums a recognizable group of monsters, the same Minotaurs who had caused him problems at the bar and some other monsters of other species, were engaged in a frantic battle against a group of people, the people were the priests and the armed's nuns that he had seen over the course of the week.

Locke recognized the chief Minotaur from whom he had ripped a horn, who now wore a metal prosthesis attached to the base of the broken horn.

The Minotaurs and the other monsters seemed to have a certain advantage, they used their huge bodies and their strength, allied to its superior numbers, to press church members into a corner, surrounding them and pushing them towards a building,

Locke watched for a moment, considering whether to help or not, he noticed the nun with a shotgun that shouted orders to the others, regrouping the priests and nuns and responding with shots.

"Sister Sandra! They keep coming!" One of the priests yelled, he was carrying a huge machine gun that spewed intense fire.

"Don't give up my brothers! Have faith in the Lord! It's at times like this that I remember the wise words Sister Margaret spoke to me on our mission in Bogota!" The Sister Sandra, now with two shotguns, comforted her companions.

"What were the words of wisdom that Sister Margaret left you?" another nun asked, she used a rifle to keep the creatures away.

"Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition!" Sister Sandra screamed.
