[Atention! Through the user action's a special mission was created! Rescue Mission: Save the Lizardkin!]
[A group of beings descended from dragons request your help! Save your relatives and the system will present you with a random reward!]
'Hey, look at that, how long has it been since we've triggered a system mission?' Tia asked through they telepathic link.
'Apart from the daily's missions and secret ones? A while…" Locke replied. 'It's about time, right?
He was inside a vehicle, a huge black van, along with five more of the lizard men in their human's form's, Locke was quite surprised at how much these creatures had become accustomed to the modern human world, they had knowledge of modern weapons, vehicles and equipment, they had a lifetime in the midst of the human world, they even had cell phones and social networks!, their human's transformations had been provided by witches, through Glamor magic they could pass as commom humans in the society.
According to Utizir, the leader of the Lizardkin, his tribe had arrived on earth about three hundred years ago while fleeing an aggressive predator, they crossed a portal that was open and find themselves in the middle of the modern Earth, despite realizing that most humans in this world were oblivious to magic they realized that science here was powerful, very powerful, enough to do them as much damage as any magic, so they retreated and lived in swamp's for years, hiding from the humans and living me in peace, growing up in this new world.
About half a year ago the cultists attacked their tribe by surprise, they used arcane magic and modern weaponry in the siege, they killed a large part of the tribe and enslaved the survivors, using their women and children as hostages, they made the lizard men commit huge atrocities in they names.
When they met Locke, the Lizardmen could feel their bodies resonate due to his dragon blood. The Lizardmen were descended from ancient dragons and worshiped dragons as deities, and for them meeting Locke was the equivalent of meeting a demigod, because of their faith they were willing even to put even their captured families in danger.
Now Locke and the lizards were running against the time, they had very little time until the cultists were warned of the lizards' betrayal and executed the hostages, luckily the cultists kept the lizardkin in a warehouse on the docks where the Lizardmans could be appeased from time to time, being able to pass some time with their families.
'What's your plan?' Tia asked.
Locke's brain was running at full speed as he tried to decide how is the best way to approach this problem, according to the lizards, the reason they themselves didn't try to save their families was because the security of the location always kept them under constant threat, if the lizards dared to move against the orders, blood would be spilled.
Locke came to the conclusion that a rescue mission will be extremely difficult, killing something was always easier than saving something, and he lacked experience in this type of mission, so Locke had an epiphany.
He didn't need to save anyone, he just needed to make a big mess, a plan was built and shared with others, it was time for took some action.
***
In a warehouse on the docks some rough looking men smoked while guarding a closed warehouse, they were too armed for a normal group of night guards, they looked bored.
"Holy sh*t, guard is f*cking boring work! Why didn't those idiots put us on the death squad? We are the strongest in this city!" One of them spoke while spitting on the floor.
"If at least only one of these f*cking geckos was sexy! Then at least we could have some fun!" one of them complained.
"Who are you try to fool? I'm sure about you would fuck anything as long as it had a p*ssy!" Another replied.
"Maybe... as long as I drink a lot before!" The other guard replied, Laughter erupting among the all guards
Just then a man ran from inside the warehouse.
"Get ready, a group of eight armed soldiers is heading in that direction!"
"Finally some action!" The guard with the cigarette spat again.
The men raised their weapons towards the containers, from which eight completely black soldiers came out firing, the soldiers running in a straight line not caring about they safeness.
The firefight between the two groups started, bullets streaked back and forth, but the black soldiers didn't seem to mind, they fired at random towards the guards and the guards bullets hit their bodies with no apparent effect.
"Who the f*ck are those?" one of the guards asked. "Why don't these motherf*ckers fall?"
"They are distraction!" A voice shouted from above.
Locke fell on the guards from above, falling from the skies covered in his black armor of shadows firing two machine guns, he had spent half his mana building those puppets and keep them working and shooting was an arduous task, so he had to use the modern weaponry he took from monster's corpses to attack.
His sudden aerial arrival gave him a certain advantage, he managed to take down two of the guards with that move, his shadow-armored figure kept firing at the guards.
"Who the hell are you?" one of the guards yelled.
"It doesn't matter who he are! He's going to die today!" Other guard shouts, his body began to swell and grow, his muscles began to take on a green hue, and his lower fangs began to stick out of his mouth.
Locke didn't wait for the man to finish his transformation, he threw a grenade towards the half-transformed man, the grenade exploded in his chest spreading green blood everywhere.
Unfortunately Locke was only one grenade, and the guards are not amateur's, they soon began to focus their fire on Locke, ignoring the shadows in the form of soldiers, who was forced to hide behind a shield of shadows, he undid his puppet soldiers making them become part of the shield, if Locke had more grenades or had his mana full he could turn the tables, but Locke had already fought a lot that night without having a decent time to rest and regain his mana, even with his natural regeneration he hadn't recovered enough to go on another magic bombing, he also had no other modern weaponry other than his previous spoils, and they weren't nearly enough to take on all the guards, but that was never the goal, Locke's goal was to be a target.
And he was ready to give his all in this role.
Locke charged by pushing the shield, all his remaining mana had been used to create and maintain that shield and fortify his own armor, and both wouldn't fall unless the Orcs used heavy ammo, Locke also took the opportunity to test his new addition, he took the Minotaur's hammer from the inventory and hit the ground with all the strength he had.
The hammer gave off a glow, the impact on the ground creating an intense shock wave, destroying the ground and hurling chunks of concrete, wood and steel towards the orcs.
The green giants were taken by surprise, some fell into the sea and others were injured by the wreckage, they realized that Locke was wearing some kind of magical defense whose they bullets were useless, so it was time for go in the old school violence.
One of the Orcs ran to the warehouse, he got back shortly thereafter together with several companions, each carrying a number of medieval weapons that glowed with magic, the cultists had not spared investing in the security of this dock, it looked like everything would be resolved in a close-range battle.
Locke raised his hammer and shadow shield, roaring, a strange feeling of joy rising in his chest, he was far from being in the ideal situation to face so many enemies, but his heart was pounding with anxiety, he even smiled behind shadow helmet, it seemed that the Orcs shared his feelings, as they too had smiles of anticipation stamped on their faces.
With a battle cry Locke ran against the more than twenty enemies.
On the other side of the docks, a group of lizardmen came out of the waters of the sea, taking advantage of the confusion they took down the lonely Orc guard who had stayed on the other side and rushed inside the warehouse, Locke was giving his all at the entrance, serving of perfect distraction while Utizir and his brothers entered the prison.
The familiar scene of their women and children trapped in cages greeted them, imps mocked the prisoners, poking them with metal sticks, just as they hoped the Orc guards were nowhere in sight, it was the perfect time to free their people.
The lizard men attacked the small dark creatures with violence, tearing apart the desperately running imps, one of them went straight to the saddles and began to release the captive women and children.
"Fast! We need to offer support to our brother!" Utizir screamed, he could hear in the distance the sound of intense battle, he knew the number of Orcs was not small, they also had much more strength than the lizardmen, knowing that Locke could face so many totally alone made his own. Worship for him grows more and more, and so he wanted to immediately offer his help.
"We can't! We have to stick to the plan!" Another lizardman spoke, with an expression of contradiction, as if he wanted to go against his own words.
Utizir clicked his tongue angrily, but he hastened to release his people, ordering them to run and jump into the sea, fleeing through the waters, his people were very good at swimming.
While the Lizardkins made their escape, Locke fought like a wild beast in the midst of the green giants, each of the Orcs was at least eight feet tall when they all had abandoned their human forms, their physical strength increased absurdly, and now was similar to the strength of the Minotaurs.
Locke didn't even notice when he shifted, at some point as he swung the hammer his black shield had been destroyed by the attacks, and his now free hand was turned into a claw that ripped through the flesh of anything who he could reach.
His tail also played an important role in the fight, it was like having an extra mobile and retractable weapon in battle, Locke's eyes also lit up in golden color, and his transformed body went into Dragon Force state, his strength and speed increased dramatically, allowing him to perform the perfect role of a one man's army.
The Orcs seemed to be just as excited as Locke, they were also very resistant, they ignored almost every wound that wasn't fatall, they attacked Locke with axes, swords, spears and other magical weapons, the weapons are hitting Locke's shadow armor, splitting it and revealing the black scales underneath.
Locke roared as he sent an Orc flying with his hammer. The intense fighting was already starting to damage him, and even his tough scales began to crack under the attacks of the magic weapons, but Locke was excited, fighting with his life in the The line seemed to awaken something inside his chest, a strange animalistic emotion running through his insides, a primal instinct coming from his innermost self.
One of the Orcs screamed in a strange language, the spear in his hands glowed as if made off pure blue embers, it hit Locke's shoulder, being stopped by the scales, but the intense heat began to split the scales and the spear went deep into Locke's shoulder, making a smell of burnt flesh rise.
Locke grabbed the Orc's arm and brought him closer, he opened his mouth completely and bit the green monster's neck, his teeth ripped the creature's muscles with extreme ease and Locke tore the monster's jugular which bled to death.
Locke spat the piece of Orc flesh from his mouth, green blood dripping onto his chest and onto the broken shadow armor.
"WHO'S NEXT?" Locke yelled.
His savage move made the monsters dread to step back in trepidation, Locke ripped the glowing heat spear from his shoulder like it was nothing, he held both weapons in battle position.
One of the Orcs, who was slightly smaller and older in appearance than the others laughed. "You are either a very brave motherf*cker or a very crazy motherf*cker! Anyway I liked you a lot!! Who the hell are you, man?" he questioned.
Locke smiled with his Dragon face. "Me? I'm just a distraction!"
Locke's sentence made the Orc raise a confused eyebrow, at that very moment shots started, coming from the Orcs behind.
Two lizard men were at the warehouse doors, each carrying a machine gun and shooting at the Orcs. One of them shouted loudly that they were all freed and ran towards the Orcs.
"Let's finish this another day!" Locke yelled, he spread his wings that were hidden under a cloak made of shadows and darted over the Orcs towards the lizards, he grabbed the two reptilian hands that were outstretched and flew to the skies, the lizards kept firing as Locke carried them away.
The Orc leader was confused, he was sure he was fighting some berserk monster, the whole battle Locke had practically ignored his own safety and fought like a wild beast, just protecting his vital points, he thought this enemy was the same tham them, a Battle maniac who enjoyed the killing and the figth, so they never imagined he'd run away in the best part of battle.
For a moment they stood there like children who had lost a toy, until the older Orc started to laugh, he laughed to the point of holding his belly.
The sun began to rise over the horizon, lighting up the skies, the older orc was watching the figure of Locke, already almost invisible from a distance, he wasn't at all worried about having lost the hostages, he served the cultists just on a whim after all , what he really wanted was chaos and fun, and he had finally found something fun.
