The wire hissed with the extreme electrical current, Locke didn't think twice as he grabbed the wire, the energy rushed through his body and invaded his cells, each of them began to absorb the electrical energy and converted it into mana.
The idea had popped into his mind as he flew through the skies, he had spent a considerable amount of mana to teleport everyone and he felt there wasn't enough remmaning time for him to meditate and recover the all mana he have used, that's when he saw the wire, in the midst of the destruction, one of the light poles had been knocked down and the electrical cord was loose, rattling like an angry serpent as its tip glowed with energy, remembering the skill he had gained fighting Rudra and his sons, Locke tried to see if that would work with normal electricity, it worked perfectly and soon Locke felt all of his mana filling up.
"Maybe I have to change my last name to Tesla now…" Locke joked.
He went back to the skies and went straight to the city, one of the worries that was pounding in his head was again his in-laws, he had told them to go back to the shelter, little time had passed so it was normal that they weren't there when he teleported people, but he at least hoped to see them along the way as he headed back to town, he even flew low enough to observe the surrounding area and the closer he got to the town the more he worried about not finding Azaleah and Joseph.
Finally he found them both, the city of mid valley had a very interesting layout, the city was divided from the countryside and the docks by two rivers that flowed into the sea, the city had many passages between the three areas, but the main passages were the two huge bridges that connected the main area with the others.
While flying over the area Locke noticed that the entire bridge was filled with vehicles, a part of it had been blocked by a huge truck that had been overturned. Locke could see two people beside a small car who that were messing around in the vehicles around, he transformed completely to avoid being recognized and descended from the skies, landing beside them both.
"Are you two ok?" Locke's sudden appearance startled them both, Azaleah even tried to hit him with an iron rod she used as a makeshift weapon, but Locke easily raised his hand and grabbed the iron before it could hit him.
"Ah! I'm so sorry! You scared us!" Azaleah apologized instantly.
"It's all right!" Locke replied, he wasn't angry at all, after all even if he was hit he wouldn't take any damage after all. "I've already rescued the imprisoned people and you policeman's, I'll take you two to the shelter!"
"No, you don't understand!" Azaleah replied. "Those giant gray things are coming this way, if they continue on that path they will come to the shelter! That's why my husband and I gathered all the vehicles around to block the bridge, but it's still not enough!"
Locke took off flying and looked at the bridge entrance, his in-laws were right, he could see that the gray giants were coming in that direction, but now they were accompanied by the other monsters, Locke figured the loss of the prisoners made them take drastic measures, it seems that they decided to recover they humans prisioners by attacking the shelters.
"Sh*t!" Locke cursed, he went back to the ground, meeting Joseph and Azaleah. "I saw them, don't worry about it, I'll deal with them!" Locke held them both and with a leap he crossed the makeshift barrier.
Locke put them both down gently. "I wanted to take them to the shelter myself but I have to deal with that army of monsters, one of the cars on this side must be running so help yourselves…" Locke turned around, he prepared to fly again. "Don't worry about the bridge, none of them will pass!" Locke jumped.
"Wait! Who are you? I feel like we know each other!" Azaleah questioned.
Locke was startled by the question, he tried to find words but he wasn't in the mood to lie, so he ended the conversation. "There's no time for this! Get to the shelter!" He flew towards the bridge entrance.
Be careful!" Azalaeah yelled, she and her husband got into the nearest unturned vehicle and headed towards the shelter, if their mysterious savior couldn't stop the monsters they would have to defend the shelter somehow, they took off down the road without look back.
The monsters continued to approach the bridge, making a huge procession, Locke landed at the entrance to the bridge and started thinking about how he would face so many enemies, the easiest choice would be to bring the entire bridge down, but that would cause a disaster for the economy of the city, which had already suffered too much from all these struggles.
'Just be a badass!' Tia spoke through the mental link. 'Fight them head-on, as you've grown you're more than capable of doing that!'
"Hey, I didn't know you were watching me! What's up? Tired of playing games?" Locke joked answering the fairy.
'I'm always watching you!' Tia replied, in a way too serious to be a joke. 'The girl you brought here won't let me go, she clung to me and wants to be by my side at all times, she keeps asking me if I know any princesses... I can't curse in front of a child and that's why we're playing some children's games to pass time, but I've been watching you during all your fights so far, I am your personal cheerleader after all!... You've grown a lot fighting those Orcs, imagine how much you'll be able to kill all these idiots that are on the way!'
"But can I face all these guys head on?"
'If things get tough you just need to fly away! Give yourself a chance! See this like a festival of experience points!" Tia joked.
Locke accepted the fairy's words and crossed his arms, he patiently waited for the monsters to reach the bridge with a patience of a monk, concentrating its own magic on the process and getting ready. Once Locke was able to see the monsters, Tia started naming each race through they mental link, The giants with the gray skin and the tattoos were Goliath's, the rat creatures were Ratkin's, the goblins Locke already knew, there were also Bugbear's, Hobgoblin's , Kobold's, Grungs and many other races of humanoid monsters, some Locke had seen at the bar and others he had never seen before.
As soon as the monsters saw him they showed an expression of confusion, but one of the giants shouted orders and the monsters prepared to attack, they pulled out their own weapons and started running towards Locke.
"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" Locke couldn't resist making this joke, eliciting laughter from Tia through the mental link, he concentrated his mana on his chest and released a blast of black energy from his mouth, it was a perfect dragon breath.
The powerful magic cannon crossed the distance between Locke and the monster army in less than a second, the first creature to be hit was vaporized instantly, Locke kept the magic barrage and moved the beam, the beam ran down the line of monsters causing an absurd amount of destruction.
Locke had used a quarter of his mana in this attack, which had culminated in a terrible power, the number of monsters dropped was almost a third of the total number.
Locke didn't stop his attacks or give the monsters time to counter attack, he used his new telekinesis ability and his physical strength to start launching the cars that crowded the bridge over the monsters, for each car he launched with his own hands he casts an explosion rune on them, which caused a chain effect of various vehicles exploding in the middle of the monsters.
When he saw that the small fries were in a mess, Locke turned his attention to the giant creatures, the giants started to hurl debris from the surrounding buildings at him, but Locke made them return with his telekinesis, aiming and hiting the smaller monsters, he took advantage of the the fact that giants are slow to run into middle of them.
The giant's physiology was quite similar to that of humans, and Locke figured that their tendons must be a muscle of the utmost importance, using his claws he began to tear the tendons from each of them, forcing the eight-meter-long creatures to fall in they knees, after the giants were on the ground he started attacking their heads..
As soon as the first giant fell, Locke sank his claws deep into his skull, flames raced from his wrists, and the head of the Goliath's exploded like a balloon, sending blood and brains flying everywhere.
Locke didn't stop attacking, from his right hand he started attacking with black fireballs, which were thrown around and exploded among the enemies, in his left hand he created a black lightning, which ran through the monsters in a chain of lightning, electrocuting everyone too unlucky to escape.
Some monsters tried to fight, but Locke was like a live meat grinder, and the smaller monsters had no condition to fight him, the story can be different with the giants can hit him, since they had immense and absurd physical strength, but they weren't even a bit fast enough to put him in danger, every time they attacked, Locke would disappear from the scene and appear among the other smaller monsters, and the giants' attempts to hit him were causing the deaths of his own comrades.
Locke continued to run among the monsters like a raging beast, his black scales are covered in dozens of different blood colors, but Locke didn't care one bit, the monsters didn't give the absurd amount of experience that the Orcs did but still he had already gained at least four levels during this altercation.
Some monsters gave up the fight and started to run away, Locke was a little upset to see his precious free experience points scaping, but he had to focus on taking out the ones that were left behind, he still felt, deep in his chest, that he needed to hurry because something important was about to happen.
The fight lasted about twenty minutes, when the last of the giants went down Locke looked around to finally realize the amount of destruction he had caused, the number of bodies was huge, blood and viscera covered the streets and Locke felt a little strange.
'Daaam Boy! You sure got carried away!' Tia commented through the mental link. 'Look at this! It looks like a Jackson Pollock painting! Look at that!, half of that guy went to the top of a light pole!'
Locke ignored the fairy's sarcastic comments and pushed the bad feelings out without thinking twice, those guys attacked him first, if someone isn't ready to die he shouldn't try to kill anyone.
"I need to continue, I feel that something is about to happen, that building in the center fills me with a horrible feeling too!"
'Go get them, big boy!'
