Wild Wind Wolf's Bone Dagger

Wade slid into his bed. As he drifted off to sleep, a menacing red light surrounded the necklace on Wade's neck.

Wade opened his eyes and found himself standing with a few words in front of him.

"Welcome back to Second World Online."

"Would you like to spawn in?"

"Yes"

Wade suddenly saw the screen disappear and he was now in the air. When he glanced down, he saw a small village below him, and based on his prediction skills, he could determine that he would land right on top of the village square.

He suddenly felt nostalgic as he remembered one of those battle royale games where the players would fall straight down to the ground just like what he was doing now. Wade heard screaming behind him and when he looked back, he saw a few thousand people free-falling just like him.

*******************

5 minutes later...

When Wade landed in the middle of the village, he saw many other players looking around the town square. The town square was quite spacious and had many players situated in it. There were three buildings around the town square. One of them looked like a temple while the other looked like a tower with no windows coming out of it and a bell on top of it. The last looked like a bar as it had a canopy on top of it as well as a campfire in it with tables around it. Everybody there was laughing their lives out and drinking beer and alcohol. It could be seen that most of them were drunk.

Wade decided to look at his status menu first. He heard in the instructions that if one were to think about his or her menu, they could see their stats, abilities, and other various mechanics. He focused on thinking about his menu and it popped up just like the holographic screen when he was customizing his appearance.

Wade didn't input his stat points directly as he wanted to see what classes were available and as the game said that there were secret classes, he was quite interested to see if he could get one early on in the game. Wade then saw the Temple that was on one side of the village square. When he walked in, he saw an altar with statues around it. The statues resembled the classes that most MMORPGs had like the assassin class, the warrior class, and the mage class. He walked up to the altar where a screen popped up in front of him.

[Altar of the Gods]

[Choose a class then a God to serve.]

[Classes:]

[Assassin: a class that hides in the shadows and waits for the perfect moment to strike. +3 Agility and +2 Strength Increase per Level Up]

[Cleric: the class is known for its healing and rare reviving spells. This class has the disadvantage of not being specialized in attack or defense but it has the advantage of being able to heal its teammates as well as use any sub-weapon. +4 Magic Power and +1 Health Increase per Level Up

[Archer: the class with the physical ranged specialty. This class is recognized for its high ranged capability, as well as being able to pick enemies from afar. The legendary archers in history could even go close combat with their bows if the situation required it. +4 Agility and +1 Strength Increase per Level Up]

[Magician: a class that specializes in the arts of magic. This is a popular class as it is similar to the Archer but has more capability as an all-rounder. Although everybody can use magic, the magician channels it much faster than other classes as well as doing more damage with it overall. +4 Magic Power and +1 Strength Increase per Level Up]

[Guardian: the class that specializes in defense. They are known for their tank-like health and insane amounts of defense. +2 Health and +3 Endurance per Level Up]

[Berserker: the class that cares about damage above all other stats. This class is known to be the fodder of an army to destroy their opponents while suffering no loss at all due to its high damage, moderate defense, and speed. +4 Endurance and +1 Health per Level Up]

[Summoner: the class where beasts are the main weapons of war, uses magic power to summon various creatures to battle for them. This class is known for being an extreme team player as summoners can overwhelm their opponents with beasts constantly while being in control. +5 Magic Power per Level Up]

Wade thought about his decision for a minute before deciding on what his class would be. Wade already had experience in assassinating others in real life so what's the point in picking a class he had no experience in.

[You have chosen the Assassin class.]

[Since you have chosen a class, please choose your in-game name. This name will be displayed to all unless you choose to reveal your true name.]

Wade didn't know what to call himself but as he thought about it the more he wanted to choose the name that his enemies referred to him as he was quite famous in the Assassin community for his gang. They called him the "Shadow of War" as he was able to kill anybody who came his way and in a brutal way as well.

His kills had even appeared on the news before as Wade decapitated people and the only thing that people knew about him was that he looked like a shadow and whenever he killed someone, he tied a piece of wood that had a mural on it. The mural showed a shadow touching a wall that showed the word "War". Nobody knew his real name but he usually took out the targets that the gang had assigned him to as well as other targets on the mission wall in the gang headquarters. He didn't put the mural on his targets so that he could prevent suspicion against him.

[Would you like to change your in-game name to War?]

Wade tapped [Yes] on the screen and his name changed from Wade Raze to War.

Wade then put in his 5 of his free stat points in both agility and strength.

Wade's stats were now

[Menu]

[Damage = 15]

[Movement speed = 75]

[Mana capacity = 100 (Recharges 5 mana every minute)]

[Damage Reduction = 10]

The screen then told him to choose a god to serve and worship but Wade never believed in gods because did gods help him in the past when he was at his worst? No. So why should he serve them?

After Wade deleted the screen that told him to pick a god another screen popped up with his 3 new skills.

[3 new skills gained]

[Stealth: Level 1: 0/100 = Active Skill: Turn invisible while avoiding the senses of the people around you. Your next strike will deal 10% more damage. Cost = 10 Mana/Cooldown = None

Backstab: Level 1 0/100 = Passive Skill: Damage to the backside of others will deal 25% more damage.

Bleed: Level 1 0/100 = Active Skill: Your next strike will make the opponent bleed for 10 seconds with each second dealing 5 damage. Cost = 20 Mana/Cooldown = 15 seconds.]

Wade looked at these skills and was surprised that they were better than what he expected. [Bleed], [Backstab], and [Stealth] combined would make a deadly one-hit strike that would probably instantly kill the opponent if odds were good enough. Wade then took out a bandana and wore it around the lower half of his face.

'I highly doubt that a person could know who I am in the real world now' thought Wade as he ran out of the village square to the smithy. When he chose the Assassin class, he earned a rusty knife that looked like it belonged in a kitchen and 50 copper coins. The coin system was like this: 100 copper coins = 1 bronze coin, 100 bronze coins = 1 silver coin, 100 silver coins = 1 gold coin and, 100 gold coins = 1 mithril coin.

When Wade arrived at the blacksmith's forge, it was nearly empty as there were only NPCs still inside. These NPC's were apprentices to the master blacksmith at this shop and when he entered, half of them looked at him before turning back to forge again. Wade noticed a receptionist named Ralph who looked quite busy and stressed as he looked over a piece of paper. Ralph then saw Wade and looked quite happy to see a customer.

"What do you need, good sir?" asked Ralph in a quiet tone as to not disturb the forger's concentration when they were smithing.

"Do you guys have this kind of knife for sale? I also want it to be extremely durable and sharp. Keep it under 50 coppers as well." Wade showed Ralph a Karambit knife that was quite well known in the modern gaming world.

"Well, you see we do have a curved knife that fits your description but it costs 50 coppers and I believe that was your budget." Ralph chuckled nervously as he thought that if the knife went over the budget, Wade wouldn't buy it from them.

"Show me the knife, please. I would like to test it before buying it." Wade knew that a Karambit would be a very good weapon but it was based on its durability and its sharpness. Wade used [Inspect] on the knife.

[Curved knife (Common)]

[A curved knife that resembles a Karambit from Earth. Created out of titanium fused with silver and bronze.]

[Stats:

+15 damage]

After inspecting the knife, Wade immediately grabbed a sword from the opposite wall and slashed the Karambit knife on the sword with all his strength. The sword broke into two pieces while the Karambit knife was practically unbroken with only a slight scratch on it.

"Why, why did you do that sir?" Ralph was bedazzled that he had the strength to break the sword that he had forged himself.

"Sorry, it was the only way I could test this knife's durability and sharpness without you stopping me. How much does the sword cost? I'll pay it after I earn enough money hunting with this knife."

Wade then handed Ralph 50 coppers while Ralph was stunned. He then left the village and started walking toward the Beast Forest. The Beast Forest on his map was a humongous forest surrounding the east side of the village. It also separated the village from multiple other Beginner villages.

It was said that if one went too deep into this forest they would encounter multiple high-level beasts as well as high-level herbs and treasures. The beast levels of power were divided into a couple of grades. These grades started from Common to Uncommon to Rare to Epic to Legendary and finally a Mythical Beast. These grades were all that was known at the moment as classified in the background story of the game. The outer levels of the forest only contained Common to Rare beasts, as the villagers had given some information about the forest.

Suddenly, Wade heard a growl behind him and he saw a wolf with a green aura around it. Wade activated Inspect and saw the status of the wolf.

[Wild Wind Wolf: Common]

[Level: 1]

[Hp = 100/100]

[Abilities:

Wind Aura (Passive) = Increases move speed by 10 percent]

[Skills:

Tear = Bites the opponent and tries to tear out the meat of the opponent. Deals 10% more damage. If meat is torn out, regenerate health by 5 percent in 5 seconds. Usage rate = Moderate

Headbutt = Headbutts and stuns the opponent for 1 second. Deals 20% more damage. Usage rate = Moderate

Weak Wind Blast = uses its magic power to send out a wind blast that knocks the opponent off balance as well as doing damage. Deals normal amount of damage. Usage rate = Low]

After looking through the Wind Wolf's stats, he charged directly towards the wolf. The wolf, thinking that Wade would be intimidated after seeing it was surprised and also charged towards him.

The wolf used headbutt to increase his speed and right as the wolf was about to hit him, Wade stopped running towards the wolf and sidestepped while slashing his curved dagger downward directly into the wolf's neck.

[Fatal area hit. (Fatal areas are areas of the body where you will deal a guaranteed critical hit on said opponent.) (Critical hits are hits that deal 5x the damage you would normally deal to an enemy.) Critical hit inflicted.

-150

A bright yellow number appeared above the wolf's head and the wolf slowly fell to the ground. Wade then saw a few copper coins, a bone knife, a pelt, and three pieces of meat drop beside the wolf as the dead body disintegrated into ashes. Wade then saw the system notifications that appeared after he killed the wolf.

[You are now Level 1]

[10 stat points gained]

[3 stat points have been assigned to Agility and 2 stat points to Strength]

Wade assigned 5 stat points to his strength and agility once more as he wanted to keep his melee build as it was. His new stats changed to:
