Pseudo-Legendary Weapons

Wade then left after leaving the slave girl 40 out of his 47 coppers.

****************

Wade didn't feel good for saving the slave girl from the horny player. He felt the loss of his 40 coppers. The remaining 7 coppers weren't even enough to rent a room at the inn.

Wade walked silently to a shop that looked like it would buy some of his wolf pelts. The sign read 'Buying all pelts for a price of 1 silver each.' It seemed that the furrier inside was in great need of pelts for him to put up a massive overprice for each pelt.

Wade walked inside with wolf pelts over his shoulder. Inside it looked like a hunter's trophy room. There were fur pelts everywhere with different antlers and horns across the walls and animal skulls placed on different tables as if they were decorations.

A fat blonde woman wearing a fur coat came up to him and stared at him for a moment before asking

"So, what are you here for? Want to sell me those pelts. One-time price of 1 silver each. Take it or leave it."

Wade was shocked that this woman went straight to the point and replied indifferently as he said

"Give me 7 silvers and I'll give you 7 wolf pelts. Deal?"

"I'll take it. Hand me those wolf pelts and I'll fetch the money for you right now."

Wade threw the wolf pelts over his shoulder to the fat woman. She staggered back as she caught them but was otherwise fine.

"Hey Grace, there's more pelts for you to fix up. Pick them up near the door."

The woman put down the pelts near the doorway of the second room as she turned around and pulled out her purse.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and ... 7."

She counted as she gave him the money. Wade walked out as soon as he got the money he needed.

"If you have any more pelts or you wanna buy some fancy coats from us. Come again."

The fat woman waved as he walked out.

Wade decided to issue a few custom order weapons from the blacksmith he was so familiar with. But first, he had to get a cloak that hid his name and level.

Wade walked to a clothing store and as he walked in he saw many kinds of armor, cloaks, and clothing in various shapes and sizes. He glanced at a few of the cloaks and shook his head, noticing that none of them hid his name or level. Wade walked up to the register and asked

"Do you guys make custom cloaks?"

"We do but it'll cost a hefty sum."

"Do you have any cloaks that hide your name or level?"

"We have one that we made from an animal that had a stealth ability but other than that we don't have any more cloaks like that. It could be said that it's a one of a kind cloak. It costs 5 silvers though and it only hides your name."

"I'll take it."

"Alright, lemme grab it from our storage."

Wade waited a few minutes before the cashier came out with a black cloak in his hands. The cloak was ragged and had some tears in it but he liked it.

"Although it is a little torn its abilities and capabilities are top-notch. You want it?"

"Yeah. Here's 5 silvers. Give it to me."

The cashier handed the torn cloak over and Wade used [Inspect] on it.

Wade needed a sword and a shield to make use of two of his new skills. These two new skills were [Shield Bash] and [Basic Swordsmanship]. The game never had an inventory system so players had to carry around everything they owned. This made PKers want to kill more people as they would get at least 3x more loot than they would in other games. However, the game did establish something called a storage wristband. These wristbands would act as an inventory and store all items that the players had. Players would lose the wristbands if they were stolen or broken. However, it was extremely hard to break one of these storage wristbands.

Anyhow, Wade had bought a black storage wristband that had a couple of yards of space inside. He had already accomplished two of his goals and now he needed to buy two swords and a shield. Wade planned on dual-wielding his swords just like his daggers and using the shield as an emergency defense option or to aggro monsters toward him. When he arrived at the blacksmith shop again, Ralph ran out to greet him.

"Welcome again, good sir. Do you need anything custom made or are you here to buy one of our ready-made weapons?"

"I'm going to order a custom-made weapon. I'd like you to create a sword out of beast bones and mithril. This will be the sharpest sword your blacksmith has ever made."

"Yes, yes. I'll go talk to Grandmaster Karter now."

Wade had shown Ralph a picture of two longswords with ridges alongside each of blades so that they could inflict more damage when he sliced through enemies. Wade saw much more people in the blacksmith shop than he did on the first day and a few players forging alongside the NPCs. They were focused on their work and didn't even look at him when he walked in.

"I hear, you're the one who wants his swords custom made by me?"

A short old man with an extremely long beard stood in front of Wade with Ralph behind him.

"Yes, and I would also like you to custom make this katana."

Wade showed him a picture of a traditional style katana along with the rest of his 2 silvers and 7 pieces of copper as payment.

"My name's Karter and my price is high. Each sword custom made is 100 gold apiece. I know you can't afford it so don't try to bribe me with various tactics and such. I can tell that you have an incredible amount of perception and skill in using various kinds of weapons. How's this for a deal? You become my apprentice and learn the art of blacksmithing and I'll forge these two weapons for you right now with the best materials in the damn nation."

"Learning the art of blacksmithing from you? Hmm. Deal. I've always wanted to learn to forge when I was young."

"Ahahaha. Good, good. Let's get started, shall we."

Ralph who was standing in the back was very confused about how Wade managed to get into Grandmaster Karter's good graces.

'Grandmaster Karter always treats me like I'm his damn servant but this kid. Grandmaster Karter is a grandmaster-level blacksmith because he's a dwarf and now he's teaching a random guy he just met. Isn't this too much? He should be teaching me because I've been here ever since this shop opened and he never offered to teach me once. Whyyyyyy. Life is so unfair.'

Ralph's facial expression turned grim as he was incredibly disappointed that he wasn't Grandmaster Karter's apprentice.

*************

Wade had watched Grandmaster Karter forge his katana and two longswords with mithril, beast bones, as well as a piece of star ore. This piece of star ore was a piece of a surviving meteorite that fell to the village and Grandmaster Karter had uncoincidentally stumbled upon it when he was mining for some ores in a nearby cave. Wade had also earned a lot of experience and gained a new subclass for himself.

[Studied Forging from Grandmaster Blacksmith Karter]

[Beginner Blacksmith profession gained]

[You have watched a Grandmaster Blacksmith forge three unique weapons. +500 Blacksmith experience]

[Blacksmith Experience = 500/100]

[Beginner Blacksmith profession leveled up]

[Beginner Blacksmith profession upgraded to Intermediate Blacksmith]

[Blacksmith Experience 400/1000]

Wade had just now learned what Beginner, Intermediate, and Master meant. There were higher levels than Master but he didn't know them. Beginner meant that you had a guaranteed chance of being able to create or forge Common level items while Intermediate meant you had a guaranteed chance to create or forge Uncommon Items and finally Master meant you had a guaranteed chance to create or forge Rare level Items. Wade didn't know what Grandmaster meant but he thought it meant you had a guaranteed chance to forge epic items while also having a small chance to forge Legendary Level Items.

"Son, did you get any insight from my forging? You have to bend the metal to your will and make the hammer a part of yourself when you forge. Forge with all your heart and all your soul and you'll always succeed in making the best weapon you can. I can say I'm finally satisfied making these three weapons. Although they aren't Legendary, Grandmasters like us have a fixed chance of creating Pseudo-Legendary Items. All three of your swords are Pseudo-Legendary because of the star ore. It is a Pseudo-Legendary material that makes all of your swords treasures in itself. Treasure them well."

Wade took the swords that Grandmaster Karter handed to him and as he felt them, he felt complete. His daggers were just daggers he was familiar with but these swords. They resonated with his soul. They would now be together through life and death.

The katana had red on the back of the blade and black on its front. Its hilt was made out of red leather but the metal underneath was pure black. The two longswords were the same except for one key difference. The longswords had a long groove in the middle of the sword. Inside the groove were small spikes that were lined up. These spikes were pulsating and enlarging as if they yearned for something. As Wade used [Inspect], he knew what they wanted.

[Reaper's Edge (Pseudo-Legendary)]

[A katana that is so sharp that whatever it slices through will have a clean-cut through and through. It was so sharp that it cut through mithril so it was named the Reaper's Edge. Able to pierce through armor and sword alike, it is a Pseudo-Legendary weapon that cannot be matched with any other. Its speed is beyond our imagination as it is as light as a feather and the wielder will not be withheld by the weight of this sword.]

The minute Wade saw these swords, he wondered how they were not at a mythical tier instead of a fucking Pseudo-Legendary tier. The two swords could be used as a legendary weapon in the midst of a battle while the katana could be used for 1v1 battles where he could make use of his stealth and other skills.

"Thanks, Master Karter."

Wade thanked the blacksmith as he fitted the black and red scabbards over the swords and hung the two swords on his back while he hung the katana from the left part of his waist above his dagger.

Wade then rented a horse with the 7 coppers he had and galloped out into the Beast Forest to search for a boss monster to test his new weapons on.

(This chapter may seem like the mc is going to get more insane gear but the thing is is that this gear is not going to be changed for the next 50-60 chapters so you're probably going to enjoy the mc blasting the enemies away with his new weapons :D)
