Wade tapped abilities as the boss approached him and Hal.
"Hey, Wade. Are you done? The boss is coming toward us."
Hal spoke nervously as he summoned a few mobs to attack the boss while he bought time for Wade.
"Give me a few seconds."
Wade tapped furiously on his system screen as his two abilities fused to become one new ability.
[Instant Plagiarize (Passive): You can copy any ability, skill, and class just by watching others demonstrate their use of it or killing any user with the ability, skill, or class. You will also be able to copy the blueprint or recipe of any unique crafts that other players or NPCs make. The copied skill, ability, and class will be the same as the target's skill, ability, and class. There will be +50 stat points per level up instead of +10 as well as -50% experience points gained permanently.]
[620 stat points gained due to the player's level being 31]
Wade was very satisfied with this skill and although it gave him a debuff of -50% experience points, it gave him more benefits than having the two skills separate.
"Hal. Let me kill this boss, ok? You can have all the drops later."
"I'll take your word for it."
Wade walked toward the boss while pushing Hal's summons out of the way. He repeatedly launched fireballs at the boss while keeping an eye on its health.

When it reached halfway, the boss used [Spirit Sync] as it stumbled from the multiple fireballs colliding into it. As the possessed human king used [Spirit Sync] its body started glowing in a dark blue light as its stats skyrocketed. It ignored all the fireballs hitting its body as it charged toward him.
Wade lifted his halberd and as the boss reached him, he dashed beside it while stabbing the halberd through its chest.

The boss pulled out the halberd in his chest before throwing it toward Wade and charging once again with his increased stats. As Wade caught the halberd with his hand, it pulled him back before stabbing his chest into a sharp tree branch.

As Wade found himself in a similar predicament as the possessed human had before, it squinted his eyes at him before tightly grasping his battleax and slowly walking toward Wade as its [Spirit Sync] skill expired.

As the blood on his chest started pouring out, Wade hurriedly grabbed both [Bloodshed] and [Bloodbath] as he dropped the halberd with an ear-piercing clang. [Blood Manipulation] activated as the wounds on his chest healed and he fell on the ground near his halberd.
The boss walked alarmingly closer, Wade shot a few fireballs before stabbing the boss in the crotch with [Bloodshed].

The possessed human felt a source of pain and when it looked down, it saw its manhood being violated by a sharp sword. As the boss disintegrated, he saw a brief flash inside the possessed human's chest and launched a fireball into it. Wade then received a couple of notifications as he picked up his halberd and sheathed his two longswords.

[Yes/No]
Wade sighed as he imagined the amount of experience he could've gotten from slaying the spirit and the human it possessed. He assigned his stat points as usual before tapping [Yes] on the new skills he earned. His menu was now cluttered with many skills, abilities, and unnecessary clutter and he decided to clean it up a bit by using the [Hidden Menu] option that hid everything but basic stats and new skills/abilities. His menu now looked like…

After leaving the menu, Wade picked up all the loot and dropped it onto the unconscious Hal. Hal woke up in fright as the heavy loot dropped on top of him. There was a rusty sword, a few drops of blue liquids that helped in spirit taming as well as a staff that did increased damage to spirits.
"I'm not going to look at this loot since it's all yours but I hope you enjoy it. I'm going to log out now. I've had enough bloodshed for today. Especially trying to kill a spirit for god's sake."
"Wait."
Hal was about to say thank you before Wade disappeared in a flash of light.
"Damn you, Wade. I was just about to say thank you."
Hal stored all the loot in his storage wristband before heading toward the Beginner village. He decided to keep some of the loot with him while selling everything else in the [Auction Menu].
'Wade is an efficient grinder. I owe him a favor now. I wonder what his voicemail said' thought Hal as he logged out as well.
********************
When Hal woke up, he grabbed his phone and found Wade's voicemail, and as he listened to it, he smiled.
'So you have the same dream as me. To start a business and watch it grow and prosper. Very well. I'll help you.' thought Hal as he typed in a text message to Wade's cell before leaving to eat some breakfast.
****************
Wade picked up his phone as he was eating his breakfast and he laughed in delight. Hal had accepted his request and decided to use his free time to help Wade with his weapons company. Wade hurriedly sent a text back saying that he had a few jobs today and he would send Hal some money as well as the first product in a few days.
"Well today, I guess I have an assassination job to finish. Wish me, luck people. I won't be caught again. Never."
Wade spoke with determination before leaving the hotel and heading for his underground bunker.
After an hour, Wade reached his underground bunker. His eyes darted around as he talked into the transceiver he hid beneath the boulder. The door opened and he walked in after ensuring that there were no spies around his hidden underground bunker.
"Hmm, the old brown suit seems good enough for this mission. I'll use that one," mumbled Wade as he grabbed an old torn brown suit from the armor stand in the machinery room. It had straps all over with various weapons attached to them. An assault rifle was slung over the shoulder with a cape beside it. This was Wade's old suit that he had created himself.
It allowed for close combat as well as middle to low range combat with the assault rifle and pistols. However, this was his legacy suit that he had based his other suits on and wasn't as high tech as he'd like. But a legacy was a legacy and he wanted to get the feel of his old suit back.
As Wade finished wearing the upper and lower half of the suit, he threw a hood on as he tied the iconic bandana over the lower part of his face.
He walked into the vehicle room and smiled as he looked at his modified motorcycle. He had added basic guns to the sides of it as well as a trigger mechanism to the handles of the bike. This was merely a prototype for the perfect motorcycle he had in mind. It didn't have any other modifications other than the thinning of the bike to its bare minimum and the addition of gun turrets on the side.
However, it was good enough for this mission.
'Samantha. Your father died and so will you. Even if I have to tear your head apart myself, you'll die. Everything I've planned depends on how you die. Whether you resist is your problem. If you die, I get the money to fund my new company and my builds. In the case that you don't die, I'll just hunt you down again.'
This is what Wade thought as he put his leg over the bike and opened the garage door. There was a second way out of the bunker other than the boulder entrance. If you followed the second path inside the vehicle room, you could get out of the bunker in one of the most badass ways possible. A cliff. You would drive off a cliff and land on the other side where there was a natural ramp to stop your fall. Afterward, there was a dirt road that you would drive on that led to one of the more secret black markets within the city of Los Angeles.
The motorcycle rumbled as it leapt off the cliff and as the engine noise stopped, a few seconds later it rumbled once again. Only the back of Wade was visible as he drove off into the distance.
*****************
"Samantha, it's not safe outside. Do you remember the man who killed your father? He could be coming to kill you as well. We also have recently heard from one of our spies down in the Mercenary Association that someone has accepted the mission to kill you. It could be the same man."
"Relax. I have a gun on me for a reason. I've also hired the best bodyguard there is. What's there to worry about, Rose. You've had training with a gun and recently, I have too. We'll be fine."
Samantha played with her pistol as she slouched on a couch.
"Fine. But if you die and go to hell or something, don't look for me. I won't save you this time."
Rose humphed as she left the meeting room.
"Seriously, Rose. The target of our assassin was our father and not me. Although I have moved on, if he comes for me then the assassin will die. I've even set up ambushes at the most opportune time for an assassin to kill me. I've taken precautions to the limit."
Samantha sighed as she pondered over everything she had done.
*******************
Wade neared the city as he traveled on the dirt road. He had heard that there was a press meeting regarding the new CEO of King Corporations. Samantha had inherited Mr. King's company and the person who had hired him probably wanted the company rights for himself due to the shares that he owned.
Unfortunately, Wade didn't want anything to do with Mr. King's company due to to the fact that it was merely a medical company and had nothing to do with weapons.
Wade entered the slums of Los Angeles through the dirt road and now it was a 30-minute drive to the general area near the press conference. He had already planned where he would kill Samantha. When she came out of the press conference, he would spray her with an assault rifle regardless of whether her bodyguards were surrounding her or not. There was a parking garage near the building and once he got into that with his bike, it was all game over for Samantha.
When he arrived at the parking garage, he slammed through the parking garage's gate.
"Damn, now I gotta fix my motorcycle's front wheel when I get back."
Wade cursed as he drove to the top of the parking garage. He parked his motorcycle and as he got off, he drew his assault rifle. His assault rifle was a recently modified M-16 with increased range, a suppressor as well as less recoil.
He had arrived just on time as the press conference ended with many news reporters surrounding Samantha as she walked out with her bodyguards surrounding her. There were many lights and people around, making Wade's eyes feel the soreness of staring into a light source.
As he leaned out the window, he aimed at Samantha. It was quite dark in the parking garage making him less noticeable than in daylight where he would be caught by police immediately. Wade saw a potential shot and took it. The gun sent a tremble through Wade's right arm as the trigger was pulled. The muzzle flashed with a small light before many bullets blinked from the modified assault rifle to Samantha's head.
After firing, Wade ducked below the parking garage as he mounted his motorcycle and left. He would double-check his shots later. As he drove out, a few people in bulletproof vests with pistols ordered him to stop but he continued as he drifted out of the parking garage. A few minutes later, only the smoke from his motorcycle could be seen and the vrooms heard.
**********************
A few hours later
Samantha looked up to see a bright light shining in her eye and numbness spreading throughout her body. She assumed something had happened after she left the press conference. As she looked around, her thoughts were in chaos and she realized she was in an emergency room.
'Damn it. I took all the precautions. What happened now? The bulletproof vest saved me?'
Suddenly, the door to her room opened and a nurse came in and when she saw that Samantha was awake, she ran out of the room quickly.
When the nurse came back with an old doctor, Samantha looked up with expectant eyes.
"So how are you feeling, Samantha? Numb?"
Samantha nodded as the old doctor asked her a question.
"Good. You've been shot in the chest, shoulder, near the heart, and in both legs. You will probably be incapacitated for life if luck is not with you. However, you are still alive so have hope in God and yourself."
As Samantha heard the doctor's analysis, she slowly closed her eyes and breathed.
'Fuck. Who did this to me? The same person who killed my father? I'll get Rose to help me with the payback. For now, I might try getting prosthetics for my legs and everything else should be fine due to the bulletproof vest I was wearing before. Fuck, fuck, fuck.'
She cursed in her mind as she breathed heavily. When she opened her eyes, she saw the doctor and nurse leaving the room and as she looked downward, she saw her wounds glowing for a brief second before dimming once more.
"What the fuck is wrong with me?"
