As the maid entered the room, she took a quick look around; checking for anything out of place. Usually, as a maid of the Martialis family, the 'trash' that she had to dispose of would already be in a disfigured state by the time she arrived. She was quite familiar with the ways of Alesia Martialis, one of the wives of the current patriarch, Jae Martialis.
James noticed the kind-looking young woman enter the room and decided to put his life in her hands, it was a gamble really. He called out to her, but with his underdeveloped body, an childish scream came out. 'Waaahh'.
Like a pufferfish swelling up to defend itself, the once kind-looking maid converted into a natural battle stance. Her motions required no effort, like a reflex reaction in her muscles, drilled into her body by several lifetimes of training. Her head turned towards the source of the sound swiftly. If he wasn't a reincarnated person, James would have been paralysed by the red glint in her eyes; an enormous fluctuation of killing intent peaked as her eyes locked onto the small bundle of blankets lying at the end of the queen sized bed.
'Shit!' James thought as the atmosphere shifted in the room, the woman he decided to reach out to for help turned out to be a monster in disguise. 'Why is she working as a maid for this family when she is already in the third stage of the true spirit realm?' anyone who had reached this stage at such a young age in his old world would be considered nothing short of a genius, even suggesting for them to work as a maid would be spitting on the entire world of cultivation. In James' mind, this could only mean one thing: his family was a powerhouse, possibly even a big sect ruling over an entire continent.
Counting out all other possibilities, the maid slowly but precisely closed in on the small bundle of blankets. Her only intention was to kill. She was a homing missile.
James recognised this feeling, if he doesn't act, he will die. In a last ditch effort, he reached out his arm from under the blanket, revealing his small body to the observant eyes of the maid.
The fluctuations became unstable; the killing intent faded. This particular maid had only one weakness in this world: cute things, she just couldn't bring herself to kill them.
Quickly catching on, James reached out his two chubby arms to the maid, his black pupils glistened in the sunlight that flowed in through the half-open window. Now he was ready to engage in battle, there was no way she could resist his cuteness now.
Giving in to her weakness, the maid completely dropped her guard and reached out to the small, cute baby before her. Lifting him into the sky and spinning around, allowing him to feel the wind against his chubby little cheeks as he flew through the air, the maid was back to her kind-looking, petite self that James was first introduced to.
Suddenly, they slowly came to an abrupt stop. Then, with a calm look in her eyes, the maid stated "guess I won't be able to kill you like Alessia ordered.". Her soft voice reassured James as he inwardly sighed, a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
But before he could completely relax the maid continued "I suppose I'll have to feed you to the spirit beasts instead".
'Well... I'm fucked'

After leaving the large mansion that James was born in, around 1 day had passed. The last thing he remembers seeing was the high-grade flying sword that they boarded before swiftly taking off into the sky.
James couldn't tell how far they travelled as he was tightly wrapped up in blankets and held up against the maid's warm chest.
"Alright little one, we've finally arrived." the maid spoke in a caring voice, while the sword gently crashed against the wet, muddy ground.
She pushed James out from her chest and casually peeled back the tightly wrapped blankets that were invading James' vision.
With their eyes now meeting, the maid declared in a proud voice "I have brought you to the edge of the eastern beast glades, the beasts here should give you a fast death and won't put your precious meat to waste, trust me. There's no need to thank me for this, I am what one might consider an altruistic person. After all, I did fly over 10,000 miles just to provide you with a pleasant demise." She then looked at him with a bright smile on her face.
She then proceeded to lay him down on a dry patch of ground besides a large tree, before saying her final farewell. "Goodbye." stepping onto the sword, she soon became a blur as she joined the clouds in the sky above.
But James' mind was now prioritised with something else. 'What the hell is this?' he thought as he stared at the message in front of his eyes.
