For every knocked that Ana would make at the hood of the car's trunk, my heart would also pound against my chest.

And as our conversation with Dave were allowed to continue and dragged longer, I am growing more and more anxious.

I am all but a bundle of nerves all the more when I could tell that Dave was getting suspicious about us the more that we tried to evade talking about the source of the noise.

To  avoid getting asked with more questions, I instructed Jared to drive away as soon as we had the opportunity.

Worried, I looked behind; only to see that the other party's car was tailing us.

It was a good thing that Jared was quick to also noticed it and stepped on the gas so we could get away from Dave's pursuit.

In no time, the car that was following became nowhere to be seen.
