Chapter 42: Monkeys

I sat on my sofa, disappointed that the old man didn't teach me that amazing spell. I could use that spell to flex on people! But that old man just had to leave when my interest had peaked! The bad thing about this is that he lives in his dimensional boxes, which made it more difficult to meet him. I can only meet him when he wants me to meet him!

[Hmm, that spell is much more than for flexing, Auguste. That is an advanced spell, and it's worth millions in the [Shop]. So stop being such a baby and actually think of the procedure to successfully cast that spell!]

I laid on the sofa, and said, "Well, f*ck you, too. I'm not going to do it now since you told me to do it!"

[…You're such a brat, you know that?]

I just ignored the voice in my head and went to sleep on my sofa.

I'm too sleepy now anyways, I'll think about that spell tomorrow.

(April 1, Year 1336)

2:00 PM, and I'm still in my bed, thinking of how to gather teammates for the upcoming competition.

You see, to enter the rank battles, I will need to form a team of 4. But I can't seem to find anyone since almost everyone here knows each other and they formed a team right away just after the date of the rank battles was announced.

Well, I could try talking to some of them but they won't take me seriously since, you know, I'm just 4 years old!

(Note: His birthday was March 28, remember?)

So I'm currently trying to think of a teammate. I cannot get Vane since it would be too unfair for the other teams. Look, we are two very overpowered kids, and Vane is already 17 years old, his birthday being January 1. No one in the entirety of D-Class can fight against us when we are alone, think of what will happen if we teamed up against the other disciples; we would destroy them.

Have you ever seen a soul detachment cultivator, a goddamn D-Class disciple? Yeah, me too. I've seen 1, and his name is Vane.

Anyway, I can't get Vane because he is too overpowered and, quite honestly, too soft. He doesn't hurt living beings just for the sake of not hurting them. When he does hurt someone, he apologizes profusely.

I don't like that personality, it's not kindness not to hurt other people even when you are the one being hurt, it's just stupid.

I can't get Flare to join my team because she has to take care of Cordelia, Flame, well, he is a child. He doesn't have that much fighting experience.

Maybe I could ask Alice? I heard that she had just entered the Foundation Establishment Stage.

Yeah, I'll ask her later about it. Alice should be a good addition, and I only need two more disciples to join my team so that we could enter the rank battles.

I stood up and immediately went for the door, having made my decision.

(Scene Change)

The library is stationed in the underground city, this city was created for the sole purpose of creating a haven for those that have been abused by the humans, along with the sect.

Although, I want to know how they can support the surface from caving in and destroying everything in here. This entire thing is completely illogical if you asked me, why would they build such large structures under the surface? It is dangerous and reckless, but I guess they have someone here who can manipulate the earth to his will to build this city of theirs.

The name of the city is the same as the sect; The Coexistence City.

I went to the library, where I saw Alice again but, this time, I saw some people around her, 3 boys, all sporting the same blonde hair and wore the uniform for disciples; a light blue robe that has the sigil of the sect attached to their sleeves. Though they looked human, their appearance can be a bit deceiving.

In reality, they are monkey demi-humans.

I walked towards them and instantly knew what was going on as I heard them speak.

"C'mon little girl, let's have some fun. We blonde brothers haven't seen someone as cute as you for a long time. Don't worry, I'll make sure you'll have a good time." The one in the middle said, quite creepily might I add.

Narrowing my eyes, I said from the entrance, "What are you three doing?"

They all turned to me, and one of them said, "Huh? Who just spoke?"

In the blink of an eye, I arrived at Alice's side as I said to them, "Down here, monkeys."

They looked down, and were surprised to see me.

"Hey, hey, who are you? Why is a child like you here?"

"Leave," I said, trying to be as civil as possible.

"Huh? Why is a child like you telling us to leave? B*tch, we are C-Class Disciples! I ought to teach you a lesson, be grateful that you're just a child!" The one on the right said angrily. It seems like this one is a bit of a hothead.

I raised an eyebrow, and said, "So what?"

"That's it, you're asking for it!" He said, approaching me threateningly.

But the one in the middle stopped him, "Gerald, don't get too angry at the child. We must stay as civil as possible, remember?" He said calmly.

"Ah, I forgot, elder brother!" Gerald said.

"You dumbass, remember to remember my words, okay?" The elder brother said.

"Can you leave? All of you are wasting my time." I told them, annoyed.

He turned his eyes to me as he said, "Sure, as long as we can take that beautiful chick by your side."

I narrowed my eyes even more, and replied, "I'm afraid I can't do that, monkey. She is my elder sister, and I am here to recruit her to my team. I can't let a monkey toy with her."

He forced a smile, trying to be nice as possible, "But we're just here to have some fun with her, there's nothing wrong with that. Aren't I right, boys?"

The two other brothers behind him nodded rapidly, with one of them drooling.

"Well, the library isn't exactly for picking up girls. If you want to score my sister, then you have a better chance wooing the Sixth Elder because you can never match me in terms of raw power, monkey boy!"

A vein popped up in his forehead, after hearing me say all of that.

Alice tugged my hair, and whispered, "P-Please stop, y-you're doing more h-harm than good. I-I'm afraid that y-you'll k-kill them, Auguste."

Hearing her stutter, reminded me that she is still a pretty shy girl. That's why she focused all of her attention on reading.

I simply smiled at her, "Don't worry, I won't." And turned my focus on the monkey boys in front of me.

The elder brother smirked, "You hear that, boy? Your sister is basically saying that you should go away. She knows that I have the strength to hurt you, it's good that a lowly D-Class has such good logic. Hahahaha!"

It seems like he misunderstood her.

In reality, I am more than enough ready to slice his head off his shoulders. I just don't want trouble, for now, that's why I am refraining myself from going wild.

Normally, he should be dead by now.

"Leave us alone, or the consequences would be dire for the three of you," I said, giving them one last chance to back away.

Instead of doing what I said, he just grabbed me by the head and lifted me to his face level, and said, "You think you're such a hotshot, huh? F*cking piece of shit! I don't care if you're an important person's child, today you'll learn not to mess with the blonde brothers!"

I was stunned. I couldn't believe that he would do this kind of action.

'A weakling actually dared to lift me by the head?'

I was about to crush his head, when I heard a quick yell, and, in slow motion, I saw a foot make contact with the elder brother's head.

"Gah!!" The elder brother crashed through the tables, bleeding all over.

I wasn't ready for that, and since he was holding onto my head, I almost got dragged away. But I managed to use wind magic to stabilize my balance in the air.

I saw a red-haired girl, likely around the age of 10 or so, wearing a long pair of red pants with fur around the waist, and a red fur jacket, underneath was a red t-shirt.

I heard her say in a very cute, yet threatening voice, "I just go to the bathroom for a minute, and you shits are already flocking around my Alice!? I'll kill all of you!"

Wow… who's this girl?
