Chapter 71: Chameleon Frogs

Hours had passed, and I had reached the fiftieth-floor. I have more or less memorized the patterns of these floors. Every 10 seconds, monsters would appear. And it would repeat 10 times, each time increasing their numbers. Since I was rushing to get out of this dungeon, I killed most of the monsters that appeared immediately.

But the moment I entered the 50th Floor, everything became a bit more difficult.

Mists filled my vision as I stepped foot into the floor. I spread my mana to sense my enemies, yet none appeared.

Narrowing my eyes, I tapped the floor lightly and a huge gust of wind pushed the mists away. Yet, sooner than I could see clearly, the mist formed back, blocking my vision again.

'This is not a regular mist, huh?' I said in my thoughts, cautious.

Something is definitely not right with this floor.

But this is of no problem.

I formed a small tornado and sent it away. The mists followed it, as they were absorbed by my tornado.

The tornado was now on the ceiling, spinning endlessly, as the mist gathered around it. It cleared my vision, and now I can see again.

Looking around, I frowned when I saw nothing.

But I didn't move an inch. Something is moving around me, I just can't pinpoint its exact location. But that didn't matter, because I have a variety of wide-ranged spells.

I snapped my finger, and countless earth spikes rose from the walls, floor, and ceiling.

I heard a screech, then a groan from my left.

I turned to look at the one that made that noise and saw a chameleon with the features of a frog.

There were three holes in each side of its waist, with a tail that looked colorful. It has rough green skin, four legs, black eyes, and, inches away from my face, was its long tongue.

Revolted, I electrocuted the amphibian without any remorse with my lightning magic.

I dropped the earth spikes, and it fell to the ground, toasted with smoke emanating from its body.

I knelt, and said, "What is this?" I didn't have any knowledge of this monster, and that almost made me let loose a chuckle. I read the entire monster encyclopedia when I was bored, and I know the features, faces, and even how many monsters work biologically, yet this frog-chameleon hybrid is completely out of my knowledge.

I inspected the body of the weird amphibian, and when my eyes looked at its weird holes on its waist, I suspected that this is where the mist came from.

I looked on top of me and only saw the spinning tornado with the mist gone.

'So the mist disappears when it dies? Interesting,' I was about to inspect it more when it disappeared.

And the whole place was suddenly filled with mist again.

I frowned.

[Freeze]

I used my ice magic to freeze everything around me, and the mists disappeared.

I looked around, and saw two frozen chameleons, having faces of shock in their frozen faces.

'These things can release mists from the weird holes in their waists, and can also turn invisible. Whether at will or not is still not known, but I will assume that they can turn invisible at will. In the correct place and opponent, these things can become dangerous. For example, in a cave. If a cultivator doesn't have any wide-ranged spells, then they are f*cked. And even if they had a wide-ranged spell, they are still f*cked. The cave could cave in and kill them all.' I said in my thoughts, waiting for the third batch of enemies.

"Partner," Thanatos said, "Don't think much about this monster. If you would like to know, they are called 'Chameleon Frogs' and have 70 different species across the world. They vary in size and colors. And they also vary from weaknesses, but I think this species' weaknesses are fire and ice."

I nodded and stopped thinking about them.

The faster I finish this, the better.

(1 Floor Later)

Climbing down the ladder, I was already thinking of another plan to defeat monsters instantly.

I arrived to see an ogre, Red skin, two horns, yellow eyes, and tribal clothing. Yup, this is an ogre.

"GRAAAHHH!!" It roared, trying to show its dominance. But I decapitated its head with a quick wind scythe, and it dropped its giant club, to which I immediately put inside my storage ring.

It's kind of rare to see monsters with equipment now, except for those goblins on the first floor. Damn, I still feel good whenever I remember that I have lots and lots of magical weapons and armors now inside my storage ring.

Two ogres appeared after 10 seconds, this time wielding two giant metal clubs. They also wore chainmail armors, which is where I smiled with joy.

'Finally! Monsters with equipment!' I knew I was going to enjoy robbing them empty.

I shot two spits of poison from my mouth to their eyes, and not sooner than a few seconds, they dropped dead.

"Heh, poison really is handy," I said.

I looted their bodies and put every piece of equipment I took into my storage ring.

I didn't have to worry about space in my storage ring because I have a few that I obtained from the goblin village a year ago. Really, talk about luck!

Though, you might be asking how am I going to fit into these gigantic armors that of the ogres. Well, I won't. I'll probably sell them somewhere with a ridiculously expensive price, especially when I get my hands on those magic weapons and armors that I will loot from them later.

I smirked. Maybe this thing ain't that bad after all. Getting kidnapped or not, it doesn't matter because I can earn equipment here for myself. Maybe there is more stuff down the dungeon!

3 more ogres appeared, all were equipped with buster swords, though they wore less armor. It must be because those buster swords are heavy that they had to take less armor.

The buster swords looked quite plain but badass anyway.

They were 2 meters long, 2 inches thick, and 25 centimeters wide.

As I tore their heads off, I wondered If there were stronger buster swords later…
