While killing is frowned upon in the Rank Battles, it's not against the rules placed in this event. Since most of these strong D-Class disciples are weak in the C-Class District. In the C-Class section of the sect, many disciples there are stronger than the average D-Class disciple because most of them get better resources, better cultivation methods, better care, and better everything. These "strong" D-Class disciples are just cannon fodders in that district.
In short, these "Imperial Heroes" are easily replaceable. And besides, they are just humans and nothing more, there are plenty of them to go around; Billions of them, to be exact.
I looked directly at the remaining members of the Imperial Heroes, and smirked.
Their eyes, still having not processed what just happened, were glued to the dead body of their friend as I gloated, "Did you think that I won't kill him? Well, apparently, you were wrong. Hahahaha!" I kicked the headless corpse of their friend towards them, and their eyes slowly turned to rage and anger.
Two of them appeared in front of me with their unsheathed swords ready to slice me to pieces.
"Die you f*cking gremlin!" The one in yellow yelled with his voice filled with rage.
"I'll kill you!" The one in white screamed in vengeance, but she sounded female.
But I just smirked at them as they brought their swords down towards me. With little to no effort, I grabbed their swords, with my hands almost touching the blade, and using their swords, I threw the two of them upwards with a spin.
*Woosh*
I flipped the swords in my hands and, as they fell, I threw their swords back at them, impaling both of them in the head with their own swords.
*Thud…* *Thud…*
They landed on the grassy ground with a thud, dead.
I stretched my arms, and said, directly looking at the red clothed individual, "Hmm, they were not that much of a challenge, honestly. Are you sure you guys really got to this stage without cheating? All of you seem pretty weak to me."
The last member of their team grinded his teeth, and yelled, "Brat!!"
"What? Are you not going to come here? Or…" I left it hanging there as I disappeared from everyone's point of view.
"… Should I come here instead?" I said behind him, and his eyes widened, before I pierced his chest with my right arm.
With his beating heart on top of my hand, I simply looked down on him as he fell to the ground, almost lifeless. Without thinking much, I crushed his heart, and blood splattered everywhere on me.
Frowning at my bloodied body, I said, "I have to clean this up soon, lest it gets in my way." Turning towards Randy, I saw him shaking in the distance.
Ah, this is his first time seeing dead bodies. Understandable, seeing that he hasn't killed anyone.
I simply walked towards him as I heard voices calling for us.
"Auguste, Randy! I finally found you guys! Huh? Why are there dead bodies everywhere!?" A voice I knew too well entered the scene.
Seeing Scarlet here lessened the worry I am feeling. Soon, we'll be able to find Alice.
She ran straight towards the shaking Randy, and asked, "What happened!? Who did… this?" She gestured to the scattered corpses.
Randy shakily pointed at me, and I simply brushed it off with a scoff.
"Please, they were trying to kill us. I just returned the favor. And besides, once we become C-Class Disciples, we will have to go on missions which will involve a huge amount of killing," I said, not caring as I stepped on the corpse of the red-clothed guy.
"But that's different! All of us here are a part of the same sect! We shouldn't be killing each other!" She told me.
I merely stared at her, blankly, and said, "Would you be saying those same words if I just stood by and let them kill us instead? This isn't just a mere competition right now; this entire island is a battlefield filled with each and every single contestant is capable of destroying an entire city."
She was stunned in silence, and could only nod as she saw the points in my words.
I smiled softly at her, and said, "But this will be the last time I will kill anyone in here, I promise."
She brightened up with that.
"What about you, Randy? Are you also mad that I killed them?" I asked him, not in a threatening way, but, well, just asking him.
Staring at the corpses, he just shook his head, albeit hesitantly, and said, "No… I understand."
Seeing that we're all in an agreement, I said, "Then let's go, we have points to earn."
(The Heroes – 24 Points)
(Scene Change)
While it may not seem like a plan, I decided that the best course of action we should take is stick together and, you know, not get eliminated like some f*cking morons.
Hours have passed after we – I'm sorry – I killed those Imperial Heroes members, and we have regrouped with Alice. Along the way, we managed to defeat 3 more four-man teams and earned [55] more points, and this is another rule of the rank battles; the one who defeated a team will have the defeated team's points along the points for their elimination, making our total points [79].
As per promise, I didn't kill them, I just crippl—Anyway, it's probably safer for those teams to have met us, or else they would've been killed by other teams from another demi-human clan.
I think the teams we have defeated are named "High Kings" "White Tigers" and "Silent Monarchs". They were all from demi-human clans, and we were lucky that the scuffle between rivaling clans hadn't started yet or we would've lost points. While my teammates don't know what's happening, I do, and I'm not going to risk it.
Though the three teams were strong, stronger than I would've anticipated, they were defeated by us, The Heroes. There are only 6 teams remaining in the island, at least as far as I know, and the competition is fierce!
A huge amount of fire erupted in the sky down towards a certain part of the coast of the island, and I narrowed my eyes.
"Randy, Alice, Scarlet."
"Got it," Randy's response.
"A fight between teams? This is going to be a bit hard," Scarlet responded.
"Y-Yeah," Alice muttered.
I simply smiled at the battle that's currently going between the teams Vengeance and Mage Emperors, and said, "No, this is not going to be hard. Now, I have a plan."
As you all know, my plans have always had a high-chance of failing or going into another direction I never expected.
