When the little assistant arrived, Mary Scott was sitting on her suitcase in a wretched state.
"What's happened to you this time, my dear lady?" The little assistant gasped at Mary Scott's appearance, then lowered her voice. "Have you been evicted by the landlord?"
"Is it that obvious?" Mary, her small face hidden under a baseball cap, answered listlessly.
The little assistant gave her a look that said, "What do you think?"
Mary slumped even more. "Two things. First, can I crash at your place tonight? Second, do you know any quick money jobs?"
"Well... the first one is not possible. You know I share a place. It's tiny. The second, there is one, but I'm not sure if you'll be willing?" The little assistant, Mia Anderson, replied awkwardly.
"What job?" Mary's eyes lit up, instantly ignoring the first matter.
"It's not great, but it pays well..."
