Gideon frowned even harder when he heard what Freya said.

The man could not help moving more quickly. When they got to the South quarters, Ethan and Rebecca were already there waiting.

Rebecca was a military doctor. Before Gideon carried Freya back to the residence, he had called Rebecca to come over.

Gideon placed the woman on the bed. Rebecca quickly leaned over and touched Freya's forehead before touching her own. She said nothing and simply retrieved a few tablets from her doctor's kit. She glanced at Gideon. "Get a glass of water."

Gideon froze briefly before doing as Rebecca said.

Rebecca took the water from Gideon and gave Freya the medicine.

She stood up and looked at Gideon. "Why did she suddenly get a fever?"

"She had nothing better to do, so she knelt in the ancestral hall and caught a cold."
