CHAPTER 5

JAUNE ARC POV

Despite his injury and Pyrrha's earlier unconscious state, they arrive at the finish line only a little later than they did in the series, his Wild Talent allowing him to navigate through the forest without any difficulty.

But they were still hindered by the Grimm and by the time they arrived, Yang, Blake, Nora, Lie Ren and a few other students had already defeated the Giant Nevermore.

The Giant Death Stalker wasn't in sight because there was no stupid Jaune trying to enter it's cave in search for the relics this time around.

As soon as Weiss saw the relics, she dashed forward and came back a second later with two identical chess pieces.

"Here" she said as she handed him the Black Queen Piece.

He understood what she was trying to do as he remembered that people with similar pieces were put in the same team together. But even if he wanted to change the outcome, he wouldn't.

For one because he didn't remember which chess piece Lie Ren and Nora took.

For another, even if he did remembered, it was likely that someone else might have taken those chess pieces.

In the end, Weiss and Ruby were not bad teammates and he was sure that by feeding them his Dragon Blood, he would be able to make them stronger than any maiden. Eventually.

For now though, they still have to climb the mountain and go to the area where the Bullheads were waiting for them.

"Cardin Winchester, Russel Thrush, Dove Bronzewing, Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the Black Bishop pieces. From this day forward you'll work together as Team Cardinal, led by Cardin Winchester."

The students present in the hall clapped at the formation of the new team and he watched with barely controlled nerves as the students went up there one by one to get a team name.

Despite being in this world for a few hours already, this particular moment seemed surreal to him.

As if he was just understanding the magnitude of what had happened to him. That he was really in this world. And that he really going to become a Huntsman.

Without waiting for the applause to die down, the Headmaster continued "Lie Ren, Blake Belladonna, Nora Valkyrie, Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieve the White Rook. From this day forward, you'll work together as team Liberty, led by Lie Ren."

His mouth was suddenly very dry as he watched Nora hug Lie Ren in excitement while Yang Xiao Long playfully punched his shoulder.

It was finally time for him and his team to go and get a team name and a leader.

And there was no going back from this.

Team LBVY came down the stage and he felt Pyrrha nudge him from the side.

He took a deep breath and felt a bit dazed and lightheaded as he climbed up the stairs along with his team and stood in front of the Headmaster.

"And finally, Jaune Arc, Weiss Schnee, Pyrrha Nikos and Ruby Rose." He watched the screen as it showed their faces and formed the word ASPR underneath. "The four of you retrieved the Black Queen pieces. From this day forward, you'll work together as Team Asparagus…"

Asparagus? Wasn't that a fruit name? Or was he wrong. He didn't know much about color names.

"…led by Jaune Arc." Ozpin finished and he blinked as the applause started once again.

He had assumed that since Ruby was in this team, Ozpin would want her to lead the team. What with her being a silver eyed warrior and all that jazz.

Oh well, he wouldn't mind being a team leader. In fact, that would make things quite easier for him.

He licked his lips and gave he Headmaster a nervous smile while Pyrrha gave him a hug and Ruby cheered from the side.

He glanced at Weiss who was holding a frown and realized that she would definitely not be happy with this.

Maybe he should find a way to enslave her soon. Or would someone notice?

He decided to not push his luck at the moment in case someone noticed how his team members had suddenly fallen in love with him.

He wasn't sure if there were semblances that allowed people to enslave others but if there were then Ozpin and the other teachers would definitely be on the lookout for such semblances and their effects.

Ozpin continued his speech as he and his team went down the stage, him still feeling a little overwhelmed from the whole day's experience as the reality of being in a whole different planet finally started to sink in.

Oh well, since he was here now, he might as well give it his best shot. Become a great and powerful hunter while gathering a harem of sexy and powerful Huntress.
