CHAPTER 31

GLYNDA GOODWITCH POV

She watched with an odd fascination as Miss Ruby Rose flew circles around Mr. Lie Ren with her semblance.

Miss Rose, no, all four members of Team ASPR had shown a tremendous increase in their fighting capabilities in the past month.

A month ago at the start of the Term, Miss Rose was not capable of using her semblance to such a long extent or use it with such flexibility.

In fact, while Miss Rose was a decent fighter and had a good grasp over her semblance, the best that she was able to do with it was use it to dart around from one place to another in order to either escape from an attack or get a new vantage point to use her Sniper Rifle.

Now, she was in surprise as Miss Rose used her Semblance to move behind Mr. Ren and use the sniper rifle form of Crescent rose to shoot Mr. Ren in the back at point-blank.

The poor boy didn't even have a chance to react and was sent flying to the air.

Credit where it's due, Mr. Ren quickly turned around to face Miss Rose and get control over the situation but Miss Rose had already used her semblance to relocate before Mr. Ren could use his handguns to shoot her.

Miss Rose materialized behind him and hit him with the flat side of her scythe.

Once again showing a calm mind during a perilous situation, Mr. Ren used the recoil from his handguns to turn around and block her attack with his weapons.

That didn't help him as Miss Ruby used her higher leverage and momentum to shatter Mr. Ren's defense, hitting him in the chest and sending him to the ground where he struck the ground at high speed and would've cratered the ground if the Arena wasn't made up of High-grade material.

Mr. Ren didn't get another moment to get his bearings as Miss Rose was upon him once again, using her scythe to hit him multiple times in a second before ending her barrage by turning her scythe to its Rifle form and shooting Mr. Ren in the face. Point Blank.

Mr. Ren went flying to the other side of the Arena and a buzzer rang out in the room.

"That is enough Miss Rose." She said and stopped the girl with her own semblance in case Miss Ruby had not heard the Buzzer. The girl has shown a tendency to get lost in something once she puts her focus on it.

Thankfully, Miss Rose stopped before she had to do anything and as the light came back in the room, Miss Rose quickly turned her weapon in its compact box form and went to help Mr. Ren.

She turned to look at Mr. Ren's team and saw various conflicted emotions.

Miss Nora looked like she was barely stopping herself from moving forward to help Mr. Ren. Miss Belladonna looked alert and was looking at Miss Rose with a newfound respect and some caution while Miss Yang Xiao Long looked proud and shocked at her sister's improvement with a hint of worry for Mr. Ren.

Those were understandable reactions to the complete one-sided beat down Miss Rose had given to Mr. Ren, someone she had been sure would be able to go toe to toe against the younger girl.

Well, Mr. Ren did manage to hit her a few times at the start of the match before Miss Rose gained her momentum but it seemed that just like her abilities, Miss Rose's aura had also seen a substantial improvement as it barely dipped before 90% right now while Mr. Ren's aura sat at 27%.

She had no idea what kind of training Miss Pyrrha Nikos put her teammates through but the level of improvement all of them were showing was a little frightening.

She looked at Miss Nikos… who had an arm wrapped around Mr. Arc's waist and was resting her head on his shoulder while Mr. Arc had wrapped his arm around her shoulder and both of them were looking at the arena with interest.

Ah… young love.

She shook those thoughts from her mind and moved to the center of the arena while Miss Rose helped Mr. Ren up on his shaky legs.

"That's the match." She said and turned to look at the young girl "Well done Miss Rose. Keep going like this and you shall have no problem qualifying for the Tournament. Mr Ren, you need to step up your training if you want to keep up with your peers."

Mr Ren gave a nod in her direction before both he and Miss Rose left the stage.

"Alright. That was a good match but we have enough time for one more match."

Then her eyes went to the next match that she had set up on Miss Xiao Long's request.

Normally she would not do this but Miss Xiao Long had told her about the 'Challenge' and how settling the match in the Arena while under proper supervision would be safer than fighting on their own.

She did not believe a word of what Miss Xiao Long had said but her own curiosity had been aroused and she wanted to see how far Mr. Arc had come since his fight with Mr. Winchester.

The images in the screen moved around until they finally settled on Mr. Arc.

"Mr. Arc. Please take your weapons and enter the Arena."

Mr. Arc removed Miss Nikos's arms from around him and gave the girl a smile before he moved to gather his weapons.

Meanwhile, she looked toward the rest of the class and asked for volunteers.

"I want a rematch of my fight with him." Mr. Winchester said. He and his team had been acting more subdued since the Forever Fall incident. Especially after they learned that they were saved by none other than Mr. Arc. A boy they had tried to bully.

But frankly, she doubted the match would go any differently this time. If anything, Mr. Arc had continued to show a rapid improvement under Miss Pyrrha Nikos' attention so she was not sure if Mr. Cardin will even be able to hold a candle to the boy anymore.

"Sit down Cardin. You had your chance and you lost. I'll the one fighting Jaune this time." Miss Xiao Long said and while she did not agree with the words, she did agree with the sentiment.

"Very well Miss Xiao Long. Please take your weapons and enter the stage." She said and wondered how this match will go.

She supposed that she'll find out soon enough.
