ARTHUR WATTS POV
He walked into the Faunus camp, his new subordinate Roman Torchwick by his side.
Roman Torchwick was a changed man.
The jovial expression and careless personality he showed to everyone was still there but every now and then, he could see the anger and sorrow that the man held within.
The sudden betrayal from his subordinate Neopolitan had caught the man off guard and Roman was still in a state between denial and acceptance.
Meeting Neo and settling his score with her was one of the main reasons why Roman even bothered to stay with him after he freed him from the Atlisian prison.
Both of them walked to the center of the Faunus camp. The Faunus gave them hostile and wary glance throughout the journey but he had long since gotten used to it as well as the fact that these were Dogs that barked but had no bite in them.
He looked at the guards stationed outside the Main tent. "Tell Adam that I'm here."
The guards looked uncertainly at each other before they turned to him. "Our leader left for Menagerie this morning. You won't be seeing him for a few days."
He frowned "Why would he go to Menagerie when we're already so strapped for time."
The guard shrugged "It was an urgent summon from the High Leader Sienna Khan."
As if that single sentence everything, which it kinda did.
Sienna Khan was their leader and they have to follow her commands but still…
"Who is in charge of the operation now that he's gone?" he asked.
The guard gestured inside the tent and he huffed before going in.
His lips curled in distaste as soon as he saw who it was that Adam had left in charge of the Camp in his absence.
"Banesaw." He said.
Great.
"Arthur." Banesaw growled before he turned to look at Roman. "Torchwick. What the fuck do you want now?"
"Now now. Is that any way to talk with your allies?" Roman asked in a jovial tone but he could tell that Roman's heart wasn't in it.
"Allies." Banesaw scoffed "You are no allies of the White Fang. Just a means to an end. That's the only reason I'm cutting you two down where you stand filthy humans."
'Funny you say that when it's the other way around.' He thought but couldn't really say that to his face.
Banesaw was even more aggressive and hot headed than Adam. Not to mention his undying hatred for all things human.
"I'm here to inform you that there have been some changes to the plan." He said.
"Changes. What changes? And who the fuck do you even think you are to dare tell me what I can and cannot do."
"I am the person who helped you steal all the Dust that you currently have." He said, not showing any fear in front of the rabid mutt. "And while we did managed to steal an impressive amount in that one Robbery, it's not enough to go along with the last plan that my predecessor made."
And really, what a stupid plan it was.
To open a Tunnel between Mount Glenn and Vale.
Really, the plans had so many variables that could go wrong.
And even if the plan succeeded, the number of Grimm that'll be able to enter Vale would be so small that a few Teams of Hunter will easily be able to take care of them.
Really, he knew that Cinder was not an excellent tactician but this was ridiculous.
Banesaw growled and looked ready to attack him. But in the end, the rabid mutt managed to control himself and removed his hand from his weapon. "What is this new plan that you're talking about."
"Oh I'm so glad that you asked." He said, a little thankful that a fight had not broken out.
Because while he was sure that he and Roman will easily be able to take care of Banesaw, they were still in the middle of a White Fang camp and he didn't like his chances against hundreds of angry Faunus out for his blood.
He beckoned Roman Torchwick forward and put a map on the table. "So, here's the new plan…"
