GLYNDA GOODWITCH POV

"Professor Goodwitch."

She looked at Jaune who had Pyrrha leaning on his shoulder as they flew toward Mountain Glenn.

"Yes, Mr Arc."

"Why are you here Professor?" Jaune asked and she blinked.

"Pardon."

"I mean, you're the Deputy Headmistress. Clearly a very important position. So why would you leave your job to mentor four Hunters-in-training?"

The other members of his team seemed to find the question interesting as well since all of them turned to look at her, demanding answers.

"That… is a very interesting question Mr Arc. And I'm glad that you've started to think about these things at such a young age. But, I think you're overestimating how important I am to the Academy. Headmaster Ozpin could easily run the Academy on his own until I return." 'Hopefully.' She added mentally. And she had no doubts about the amount of paperwork she'll have to deal with when she returns.

Really, she shouldn't have let Ozpin rope her into this. Even if he wanted someone trustworthy around team ASPR to judge Miss Pyrrha Nikos' potential.

Jaune shook his head at her words, clearly not willing to drop this line of questioning "I don't think I am overestimating anything Professor. And I believe you're deflecting the question."

"And why would you believe that Mr Arc?" she asked. She was happy to see that the boy was so perspective about things. But a bit little less happy with the fact that he was using that talent against her.

Jaune Arc was silent for a moment and his teammates alternated between looking at him and then her in fascination "See, please don't take this the wrong way Professor, but I believe you to be a workaholic." Her eyes narrowed at that but he continued as if he didn't notice any change in her expression "I believe that you not only do a lot of work, but you're also quite proud of it. And that is why you won't leave your job in Beacon to mentor four 1st year students without a very good reason."

By now she was starting to get goosebumps. She never thought that Jaune would be able to look through her let alone to such an extent. Maybe Ozpin's idea of making Jaune the leader of team ASPR wasn't wrong after all.

"I believe that you, Professor Glynda Goodwitch, were sent here by Headmaster Ozpin." Jaune said and if she didn't have such good control over her emotions then she would've given away her surprise. Surprise that he managed to figure it all out so quickly. "But what I want to know, is why would he do that. What does he get out of it? What is it that he wants?"

"That…" is surprisingly accurate "is a good theory Mr Arc. But I believe that you're looking into this more deeply that you should."

She should really shut down this conversation before she gave something away. But if she does that then Jaune and the rest of his team would be even more suspicious. Not only of her but of the Headmaster as well, which won't be a good thing.

"Am I?" he asked, his eyes looking at her with piercing intensity "Maybe the Headmaster sent you because of Pyrrha?" he guessed and the Red haired girl rolled her eyes at him "I mean, everyone can see that Pyrrha will become a Phenomenal Huntress once she graduates. Not that she isn't now. I can understand why Professor Ozpin would want good relations with such a Huntress."

"As I said Mr Arc, you're just thinking too deeply into this." She said, a little frightened by how accurate he was in his guesses.

His eyes narrowed but he continued as if he didn't even hear her "Or maybe it's because of Weiss." He said "I don't even have to point out why it would be a bad thing if the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company dies in Beacon."

Miss Weiss looked a little indignant at his suggestion that she needed to be protected but decided to remain quiet.

"And then there's me. And while I would be the first to admit that there's really nothing interesting about me…" she almost scoffed at that. A boy with more aura than her, someone who has been a Huntress for decades. Saying that he's nothing special was like saying that she was a mildly decent Huntress. "I do realize that my Semblance would be useful in the medical field and can see why the Headmaster would want to see me protected."

She didn't say anything this time and Jaune continued.

"Then there's Ruby and her…" oh god. Please don't say Silver eyes "general cuteness. I mean, I would be the first one to admit that Ruby's cuteness is the most important thing in our team. And we must protect it until our dying breaths."

"Jaune!" Ruby pouted at him, her cheeks red in embarrassment while the rest of her teammates laughed, not noticing her own sigh of relief.

Jaune pulled the younger girl in an affectionate hug and ruffled her hair.

It was then that they finally arrived at Mountain Glenn and she was happy that she won't have to answer Jaune's questions anymore as they all climbed out of the Bullhead and stepped into the dangerous Grimm-infested territory.

It wasn't long before team ASPR ran across some Beowolves and went on the offensive.

She was certainly glad that she won't have to sit through Jaune's brand of interrogation again but the calculating look he gave her from time to time made her realize that this wasn't over.
