WEISS SCHNEE POV

A week later

"Miss Schnee, I have been hearing many rumors about your team in the past few days. Is it true that your teammates Pyrrha Nikos and Jaune Arc didn't join the Finals because it would be far too easy for them?" The Interviewer, Braun Earl asked and it was all she could to not scowl at the impudent man.

It was not the first time she has been asked this question. In fact, she has been asked this question many times in the past week in the many interviews she had given and the shows she had attended.

But what was worse was the fact that this time, her team was sitting with her.

After begging Jaune and Pyrrha for the past week and chipping away at their resistance little by little, she was finally able to get them to attend an interview with her.

And one of the first questions that the blasted Interviewer asked them was this.

It was infuriating.

Before she could say anything to salvage the situation, Jaune spoke.

"They are just that. Rumors." Jaune said, his voice and posture confident "Weiss and Ruby didn't get to go ahead because we were too good to do so but because they had earned it. They are both excellent Huntress and I'm proud to have both of them in the team."

She felt her heart grow warm upon hearing that.

And it was good to know that Jaune could hold his own during on live television. Not everyone had a talent for this.

Maybe she should get Jaune into another interview with her?

Though with how close the end of the 2nd term was, she doubted that she would get anywhere with her requests.

"But all rumors start from somewhere right?" Braun asked. "I mean, we all saw how you defeated Scarlet David from team SSSN within a few seconds."

Braun pointed at the screen and the scene of Jaune 'crushing that guy like a bug' played on the video.

She saw Jaune punching the guy so hard that the boy's body turned the ground into a crater. She shuddered to think what would've happened if it was her instead of him.

Then she remembered her own fight with Sun Wukong. And while she had finished her fight quickly with him, it still took her longer to do it when compared to Jaune's fight.

"That was indeed quite a video. But getting one lucky punch in doesn't make me a better fighter by default." Jaune said.

"That was a lucky punch?" Braun asked and played the last part where Jaune punched the guy and buried him into the crater.

Her eyes twitched.

That was definitely not a lucky punch. She had seen Jaune lash out such punches in the training ground. He once punched Yang out from their own training ground into the next one. While he was holding back.

"Obviously. I mean I am good. But I'm not that good." Jaune replied without a pause.

What a smooth liar. He definitely had the potential to go into Vale politics.

And she definitely needed to stop thinking of him as a Brute. He was a Brute but he was also smart, even if he sucked at his studies.

"Very well. Let's move on to the next question that our viewers are so interested in." Braun said as he read from the list "Who among Miss Weiss and Miss Ruby is stronger?"

"Me." She said without a second's pause.

"Hey!" Ruby protested "Crescent Rose and I definitely kicked your butt in the spar yesterday."

Which was… true.

While she had been busy giving interviews and such in the last week, Ruby had been busy training and had kicked her butt in the spar.

It was only thanks to Jaune giving her his aura that she was without any injuries right now.

She really needed to up her game after things settle down a bit or Ruby will leave her behind in the dust.

Jaune and the interviewer chuckled at them "It's funny that you ask that question." Jaune said "Once Ruby and Weiss went to the final rounds, they couldn't decide who will represent our team in the finals. Can you guess how we decided who will go in the finals?"

"I have my guesses but I would like to hear them from you." Braun said.

"Well, it was pretty simple really. Pyrrha suggested that Ruby and Weiss spar with each other and the winner will go to the finals."

Braun raised an eyebrow "I guess that Weiss won then?"

"She did." Jaune replied "But it was very close. One wrong move and the fight could've gone to Ruby. In fact, I have the match in a video if you're interested. Ruby, Weiss. Do you mind?"

What? She didn't know that he had been recording back then.

She wondered if showing that video to the public will be a good thing and realized that yes. That fight with Ruby was much better than her fight with that strange Penny girl.

Showing that video would only give rise to her popularity.

"I didn't know that you recorded the fight Jaune. But yes, you can show it to them." She said and Jaune sent the video to Braun's own Scroll.

A few minutes later, the highlights of her own fight with Ruby started to play on the large screen behind them.

And what a fight it was.

The rest of the interview went smoothly even if her teammates decided that they had no interest in participating in any further interview with her.

The show also got one of the most views in the past few years and she was approached by three different companies looking to sponsor her.

Things were looking up.

Now, how to ask Jaune to attend more shows with her.

He might have held himself well during the interview but he also complained about it in the end.

Well, she'll just have to think of something before the 2nd term ends.
