Unless Provoked

After a brief session of arguing, their group moved again and followed Nathan Yang to the clinic. What they didn't expect was that it would take them a while to arrive at their destination.

"Why is the clinic so far from the registration building?" Lilian Mo couldn't help but become suspicious. Either way, this Nathan Yang was really acting sketchy.

"It's vacant and doesn't have any patients at the moment. Don't ask anymore. You'll thank me later after this."

Thank him? It seemed that this man has completely forgotten his impulsive and aggressive actions from before. Lilian Mo, on the other hand, did not forget.

'I remember in my previous life that Zoe Yang was an only child. However, this Zhou Yang has this person as an older brother. Nathan Yang and Nathalie Yang. I have no knowledge or memories of these two people.' Lilian Mo thought. While walking, she deliberated over the information she could remember.

There were many prominent figures in the military but most of them were famous in a negative way. It was either they became drunk from power or had caused many inhumane crimes that caused riots and rebellions from refugees. She knew of some other minor figures but no one with the surname Yang.

The Zoe Yang in her previous life... Lilian Mo didn't even know if that girl survived because the last time she saw her was before the apocalypse when things were still normal. After the world plunged into chaos, she barely saw anyone else, her classmates, teachers, or acquaintances.

Lu Jingren had kept her close to his side and restrained her from contacting other people. The naive her listened to him and only him.

As she thought of this, she paused in her tracks, a splitting headache occurring without warning.

"Ugh.. what in the world..."

"Momo?"

"Lilian Mo... what are you doing?"

"Big sister Mo...are you okay?"

Lilian Mo held a hand to her head, closing her eyes. A chill swept over her body. She tried to get a grip of herself and counted a few seconds to relax. When the pain disappeared, she opened her eyes and saw dozens of eyes trained on her.

The bewildered gazes of the people surrounding her caused her some confusion. Have they never seen a person massaging their head before? Some bystanders were whispering and though she wanted to hear them, the group's questioning gaze caught her attention more.

"I didn't think that you were a dual ability user." Lilian Mo whipped her head to look at Nathan Yang. What he said made her brows furrow.

"Now I understand why you're so proud and confident." Nathan Yang crouched down. He touched the ground with his hand.

Lilian Mo's eyes followed his action. What she saw made her eyes widened a little. About five to ten meters of the ground was covered with a thin layer of ice and as she looked around, she saw that she was at the center of it all.

"I guess this is quite rare. A dual ability of fire and ice. But if that was the case, you must have been a water ability user before and it mutated into ice after you got stronger and reached a certain level. This would explain why you were feeling cold since last night. It was the start of the mutation." Nathan Yang said his observations aloud. However, Lilian Mo couldn't make sense of all the things he said.

It was not possible for her to be an ice ability user since she didn't even have any water ability even from before. She never liked the water. If the earth suddenly burst with magma and formed a mini volcano, she would understand because it happened once during her previous life when she was in a life and death situation, when she thought that she was truly about to die, her ability activated and came to save her.

"I'm not..." Lilian Mo shook her head. "This isn't me."

She stepped away from the ice with haste. Mu Qingqing worriedly looked at her. "Momo, what was that ice just now?"

"Big sister Mo, you're not hurt, aren't you?" Lin Jiaojiao asked.

"Boss Ren is an ice ability user." Mu Qianmo suddenly said. His gaze towards Lilian Mo became strange.

"Brother Qian, what do you mean by that? You think that Momo did something to him?" Mu Qingqing became anxious.

"I know that you don't like Boss Ren but I also know that you won't do something to him unless provoked. However, I can't help but assume something after seeing this." Mu Qianmo lowered his eyes. What he disliked the most was arguing with people and confronting them. And yet, as the most patient person in the group, he had to this because only by discussing things can a misunderstanding be cleared.

"I don't understand. Are you saying that this ice isn't her ability?" Nathan Yang became intrigued though he was a little disappointed since he was actually expecting the General's little niece to be quite special.
