Returning

Note: Earlier I forgot to put an information about the mana recovery. He recovers 1 mana per minute. Derick has 100 mana, so if he spent all his mana, he would have to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes to recover it all.

Derick quickly got out of there, using the skill "Fast Steps" to run faster and "Stealth" to hide his presence.

After his skills ran out, Derick chose a strategic point and rested for a few minutes to recover his mana.

Half an hour passed and he had recovered all his mana.

Then to waste no time, he used the "Eye of hunter" skill again.

Unlike the first time when there were figures of different colors, now there were only white figures, there were at least 10 monsters. There were at least 10 monsters, 8 smalls, mostly foxes, and 2 larges.

Derick decided to follow the fox again.

He repeated this process for a few hours: He used the "Eye of Hunter" skill to find a monster > After finding it, Derick killed it > After that he went to rest > and then all over again.

In total Derick killed 5 monsters, 3 foxes, and 2 rabbits, so he managed to get 5 Rank F cores, 2 of which were good quality and 3 bad.

Since it wasn't too difficult to kill these monsters, just a little time consuming, Derick didn't need to spend any of his items (smoke bomb, small bomb and the healing portion). He only lost 2 arrows.

The amount he managed to earn on the first day was 2 gold and 30 silver coins. This did not cover what he spent, 19 gold coins, but it was better than nothing.

He looked up at the sky and saw that it was getting late, less than 2 hours until sunset. This meant that it was already time to go back to the city.

Before he left, he decided to check his status.

"Looks like it's going to take me a while to get to Rank E."

Derick killed 5 monsters, which is already a lot for a beginner, but he only got 5 fragments.

For each monster you kill, you absorb a fragment of its soul, and with that you increase your strength.

Value of a fragment per rank:

F = 1; E = 10; D = 100; C = 1000; B = 10 Thousand; A = 100 thousand; S = 1 Million.

So, if he continued at that rate, killing 5 Rank F monsters a day, it would take at least 200 days to reach Rank E.

So, Derick grabbed his things and left....

"What?" Derick's body shook, he felt as if something was looking at him.

And when he looked back, for a moment he was in shock, he was faced with a huge monster looking into his eyes, as if Derick was a delicious food that was about to be served.

The huge monster was a wolf, apparently, he was alone, but still very dangerous. The wolf was at least twice as big as Derick.

So quickly Derick used his "Eye of truth" skill to see Rank of the wolf and....

"Shit!" Again, Derick was in shock.
