Daniel: We should have gone to Monica Pier

Daniel and Sophia have never loved each other. They've been together since freshman year, and since freshman year their dad's have been co-workers, they wanted them to be together for their jobs. So they got together. It's not that bad, they kinda get along. He would rather hang out with Beth, but she's the closest thing to his best friend. Sophia is a bitch to put it lightly, she only thinks about herself. She has always made it her mission to make everyone feel bad, but he can't leave her. His father would go crazy and he would disown me.

His father who works in the business industry, owns his own company which works closely with Sophia's family business. Daniel and his father have an estranged relationship. His father is very old minded and believes that a woman should stay at home. He works all the time, comes home at 9pm and leaves at like 6am again. Whenever Daniel tells people about this they say he's most likely cheating, Daniel doesn't believe it, his father despite his weird beliefs on women, he hates cheaters.

His mom is loving and honestly, Daniel doesn't know how she and his father work but they do, his mother is a stay at home mom and is always there to help them with school or anything, she cooks and cleans and keeps the whole household running, without his father knowing she started a business selling some of her homemade jewelry, she makes them while his dad is at work and whenever he can he helps her.

Then there's his younger sister, she's a sophomore now. She spends all her time in her room and is a major introvert, she loves to read and is obsessed with Harry styles, also a major cat mom, because of her they have two cats. She's the sweetest. They get along ok, he's a popular dude, who's a jock and all his friends are mean. He understands why she tries to keep her distance from him at school. She hates that their father is making him be in a relationship.

He also has an older sister but he hasn't seen her in five years. When he was 12 and she was 16, she came out to my parents as Bi, his dad kicked her out, disowned her and he hasn't seen her since. He said it was because being gay was a sin, and that we were made to be in a relationship with the other gender.But from what Daniels knows she was the best, she always made him laugh, and whenever he needed help she was there, she was the spiting image of his mom.

They seem like the perfect family, a father with a good job, a mother that's a stay at home mom, a son that's a jock and a daughter who's kind and nice, but people seems to forget about his older sister, people seem to not see all the problems with their household but of course his dad lets them think that.

His family, they each have many secrets, stuff that would ruin their lives. Daniel has one that would get him kicked out, he would be with Zara; disowned and left for the wolves. One night at a party last year, he was drunk, and he went up to a room with another boy and they kissed, Beth ended up stumbling into the room, stopping them before anything more happened, she vowed to never tell anyone. He has a girlfriend.

His girlfriend is the reason why he got into the mess of his life. They were just planning a normal date, but she wanted something more interesting, apparently sitting on Monica Pier, with ice cream and dangling our feet into the water isn't good enough for her instagram, they needed to do some illegal stuff. He guessed trespassing is considered illegal stuff. So while he was telling her about his plan to go to Monica Pier, she immediately said:

"God no, that's so stereotypical, we need something more fun, for my insta."

It's always for her insta, what's so bad about going to Monica Pier.

"Wait, OMG I know the perfect place, there's this umm like high building, and the rooftop is like so cute, me and Sam went there last week."

"Fine, whatever"

Daniel ended up replying. He didn't want to go, he heard that it's private property.She then immediately like clockwork got up, and went into the Bathroom.

"Get ready, Daniel, and wear something nice this time, you looked horrible on our last insta post"

He groaned, stood up like her. The shower turned on, and he opened her drawers where his clothes lay, he got changed. While waiting and he grabbed out his phone, he had so many texts from Sam asking where he was, where Beth was. Daniel quickly texted back:

'I'm with Sophia, I have no idea where Beth is. I'll call her.'

He did what he said and called Beth. No answer, tried again, to voicemail. He called at least ten times till Sophia came out of the bathroom. She took one quick look

"No! That looks horrible. Wait I'm going to find you something that actually looks good."

While stating her mind, she ran over to another drawer and flicked through clothes till she grabbed a few pieces, through them over to him.

"There, this will look so much better"

He looked at the clothing she had given him. They were clearly mens, but not his. He wondered where she got them from but knew not to question her, so he got changed into them. She smiled, nodded her head and they left.

She grabbed Daniels phone once they made it into the car, and googled something while he was asking her what she was doing, no answer. He sat there the clock ticking till finally her voice sprang up

"Found it, here are the directions"

She gave him his phone back with google maps open, He looked at the address open and put it into his car. His seatbelt was put on, so was her's and they drove away.

The car ride was the definition of awkward, she sat there taking photos of herself and sending texts to god knows who. He sat there eyes on the road listening to Ariana Grande, his head bopping to the music. Rain had started to pour down, which is very unlikely for LA, and also annoying for their date.

They had finally arrived at their destination after a long 25 minutes. He parked the car and they both hopped out, still glued to her phone they started to walk to the building where Sophia wanted to go to, while walking down Daniel made a quick detour to get himself some food, Sophia claimed she didn't want any, she wanted some she just likes to starve herself to get thinner. Daniel hates it when she doesn't eat and always forces her to take a bite.

She finally looked up from her phone, and ran up the stairs that lay in front of them. He ran behind her, stopping every few seconds to catch his breath. He may be an athlete but he hates running up stairs. Getting up was hard enough now he had to sit there listening to Sophia talk about who knows, he's also going to have to take photos of her, be screamed at by her because the lighting was bad or she looked horrible. But this time he didn't have to do any of those things. They had arrived at the top and he fully expected her to be waiting with her phone already on camera, but she sat there on the couch with her phone in one hand and the other eating some candy floss. He was shocked, taken aback but he couldn't complain. So he sat next to her. She gave him the candy and exclaimed

"I'm full you can have it."

"Sure but uhh where did you get this from?"

She never answered his question, just shook her head from side to side. He looked over to her.

"What, like dude stop looking at me"

She yelled. Daniel scoffed, rolled his eyes and went on his phone. Not even a second later her voice was echoing in the air.

"Get off your phone, we need to take photos, smile but don't smile, you don't need to look like last time. You know how many people told me you look hideous, that's humiliating for me, I can't have you ruin my reputation like that."

Once again he rolled my eyes

"Who's going to take the photos, we're alone up here?"

"Well go down, Daniel don't be an idiot just ask someone is it really that hard."

Daniel stood up and walked away, out the door. Hw creeped down the stairs to be as quiet as he could be, at this point it was 10pm and he knew the tenants would be probably sleeping. While walking down a younger lady stood out of her room yelling:

"I have been listening to you and your girlfriend's conversation up on MY rooftop and you have been waking up my children, so the police have been called, I want you gone."

She slammed the door shut, making the whole house shake. He knew he had to leave now, the police here weren't the nicest and he knew if he would be caught he would not just get a fine, that's the problem with being black, the racist people living here.

He sprinted upstairs to find that Sophia had already gone, and while he looked around he saw the red and blue lights with the sirens following close behind. Daniel looked over the edge of the building he had been caught, he wanted to run but he slipped and fell not off the edge, but his head landed on the concrete roof of the building.

The next thing he remembers is being in the back of a police car, his head hurt from the fall. The car came to a halt and his head which lay resting on the window sill came smashing forwards, then the door opened, he felt his body start to slip, but luckily he caught himself just in the nick of time.

He was pushed and pulled to the cell. Once he had walked in he saw a person running towards him, as soon as they hugged him, he realized it was Beth. He immediately hugged back. Once the hug was over he looked around to see who else was in there. Nathaniel, no surprise, Gothy, well I guess, Beth was the most surprising and in the corner sat a girl he had seen but had never heard her name.

"We should have gone to Monica pier"

Daniel mumbled

"What"

He heard Beth say, Daniel just shrugged his shoulders. He sat down on the bench which at this point could hold maybe three more people. Beth started telling him all about how she got here. Melania was sitting alone and thinking about something and the girl and Nathaniel were talking. Maybe half an hour after Daniel got in there two more people were added to the mix.
