Meeting the Goddess

During the days we were having a routine of helping around the ranch and setting off to help people with the eggs needed. Since we had horses and chickens mother was willing to share with those we lived around. Bre and I never questioned anything. I never asked my parents about what would happen if we ever went back to the palace. I liked living out here in the open where we were not spoiled brats and we didn't get everything we wanted.

A year passed and soon Bre and I turned seven which is the year that our gifted powers were active. Mother had taken us out for a walk by the Nile and I liked the feeling of the water on my feet. Bre and I got out there and were in a splashing fight to see who would win. Suddenly when Bre splashed me with the water it wasn't cold but warm.

I fell back in the water where I was pulled into the deeper part. Mother ran over but it wasn't like she could get to where I was. She picked up Bre and got her away but stayed trying to find a way to save me. When my energy was low I slowly sunk down in the water unconscious.

"Brittania.." I heard a woman's voice faintly "Brittania open your eyes."

Nothing happened but the noise got closer

"Brittania.." The woman said again "Open your eyes."

"Hm.." I said and opened my eyes as I looked around and at my hands "W-what? Wait I can breathe."

"Of course you can, Nile Princess." The woman said I looked up "Who are you?" I asked curious

"I am Anai, the Goddess of the Nile." Anai said "you are Brittania, The Nile Princess but you prefer Britt."

"You know me?" I said

"Of course child, you are she who has been prophesied." Anai said "You have heard the prophecy, correct?"

"P-Prophecy?" I asked

"Nile Water so blue in the sun beseech thy power onto one with power so strong and blue as the Nile Oh mighty Goddess your power is true and only one chosen one is worthy of you seal they power in thy amulet and only one may wear it Oh chosen one be thy holder of your power while tales be told her identity hidden till time may come with amulet and power thy chosen one shall be The Nile Princess Oh Goddess you know who she may be The Nile Princess who holds thy goddess's power The Nile amulet shall show all thy Goddess in human form." Anai said retorting the prophecy

"Amulet?" I asked

Anai snapped her fingers and I felt something around my neck. I touched it knowing that it was rare to have such a thing. I was nervous and unsure that I was worthy of being a Goddess in human form. I didn't know what that could foretell with my future. Still Anai looked at me with a smile.

"Nile Amulet shall protect thy from over using the power." Anai said "Be warned that the power will drain your energy so be wise on the use until you can fully control it."

"I will try to be worthy of your power." I said

"I know you will Britt." Anai said then came closer and she touched the amulet "Now time to return to your family. Be safe Nile Princess."

Suddenly I felt the water lift me up and within a few moments I was back on the beach. I coughed a bit and I touched my neck feeling the amulet knowing that it was all true. I really saw the Nile Goddess and she said I was the one in her prophecy. I wondered if I would see the Goddess again as I felt someone pick me up. "Britt..Britt are you o-" Father started but as I looked at him I saw him looking at my neck.

"Papa" I said "H-How did you get that necklace?" Father asked

"Goddess Anai." I said

Father and mother both looked at each other as if they knew something I didn't. Father put me down then he kneeled down and told me to get on his back. I felt like seven years old was too old for a piggy back ride but I got on his back regardless knowing that I needed to figure out what was going on. Dad rose to his feet and we all went home but no one said a a thing.

When we got in the ranch father kneeled down again and I went to wash up with what little we had. I knew something was up and I noticed that from the way they looked at each other. When I walked out with fresh clothes on and dry they were sitting and talking.

"We have to tell her Azeneth." Father said

"I know Mirza." Mother said

I walked in the room "Tell me what?" I asked

Father and mother both looked at me surprised like last time when they saw the amulet on my neck. I knew that something wasn't being told me and sure I was only seven years old so they were trying to protect me. So I decided to speak when they didn't say anything.

"Nile Water so blue in the sun beseech thy power onto one with power so strong and blue as the Nile Oh mighty Goddess your power is true and only one chosen one is worthy of you seal they power in thy amulet and only one may wear it Oh chosen one be thy holder of your power while tales be told her identity hidden till time may come with amulet and power thy chosen one shall be The Nile Princess Oh Goddess you know who she may be The Nile Princess who holds thy goddess's power The Nile amulet shall show all thy Goddess in human form." I said

"The Prophecy.." Mother said

"I know the prophecy, I know I am to be the Nile Princess of legends..but why are you all freaked out?" I asked

"Your power is active..it will be hard to hide you from the king and your betrothed.." Father said

"Be…Betrothed?!" I asked shocked
"Well you will meet him someday but that is a few years away." Father assured me and I saw he had another cloak as he walked over and adjusted it. It went around my neck covering the amulet. "Keep this hidden for now."

"Yes papa" I said
