Errand girl & Google maps

Chapter 6

Recap

"You can work as the errand girl for the others. Meaning you are to get what they need to make their various dishes. Claudette's orders. She says it's your punishment for bullying."

"What!?"

.

.

.

"Before you go running your mouth, Claudette said you either do it or you're out."

"This is blackmail!!" I yell.

"Hey! Not my fault. If you have a problem, then take it to Claudette. Now are we going or not?"

"Yes we are going." I grumble.

Estelle ushers me to the others.

"Everyone, Lisa would be joining us as our errand girl. If you need any ingredients or utensils, please tell her and she'd get it for you. You may all continue."

"Errand girl?" Jayden asks.

"Not by choice." I grumble.

I could see the smirk on French Fry's lips. She is the only one that would enjoy this.

"Well I don't really need you Lisa." Eliza says.

"Diddo." Jayden and Evan say simultaneously.

"I think Audrey would be needing your services though." Eliza whispers in my ear.

"Ugh!! I know."

Just then, I heard her high pitched voice.

"Oh Lisa!! I need some ingredients."

I groan.

°°°°°°°°°°

Throughout It was "errands girl get this, get that. I don't need this anymore. Pick this for me."

I was exhausted at this point and was on the verge of pulling my hair out.

"Errand girl, please get me flour from the back."

I stare at her for a while before going to the store room. I turn the place upside-down but didn't find the flour.

"There's no flour in there Audrey."

"There has to be. I need it so check again."

"As you wish." I state with gritted teeth.

I went back and search and search. But didn't find any. So I went back.

"I still didn't see any." I say getting frustrated.

"Oh silly me! I have one here."

I clenched my fist and jaw so tight I think my teeth would break.

She opened the flour and left it on her counter. She then dropped her spoon. And look at me, "Be a dear and pick up my spoon for me."

"Fine." I sigh tiredly. I bent down to pick the spoon when I felt something powdery all over me. I look at my hand and they are white like the rest of me. I gently stand up and face French Fry.

"Oopsy."

"Why would you do that?" Anger is coursing through me. Everyone had stopped what they were doing and watching us.

"I asked, WHY YOU WOULD DUMP FLOUR ON ME.!?"

"It was an accident. Honest!" She says with a terrified expression.

"I am giving you the count of three to apologize before I unleash hell on you."

"No! No way! You deserved it anyway!!."

I lunge at her until I was restricted by someone.

I kept thrashing trying to get to Audrey. She looked terrified. Good.

"Enough!!!" The person that was holding shouts. And I try to calm myself.

"Enough!! Lisa please go and clean up and not cause a scene. And you Audrey is it? why would you dump flour on her. First you asked her to go get it when it was not there and you clearly had one just so you can "accidentally" dump it on her." Nathan says.

Hmmm so he's been observing.

"But it was an accident." She tries to defend herself.

"Miss Audrey, do you want to be on probation too."

"N-no."

"Then I suggest you stop your antics. And you Lisa, you have been going from one problem to the other. Are you sure you want to remain in this place?"

"Of course I do."

"Then please try to stay out of trouble." He replies sternly.

I gave on last look at Audrey, "esto no ha terminado." (This isn't over) and walked out.

.

.

The rest of the evening I stayed in the locker room as white as snow. I was too tired of the whole situation to even get cleaned up. I sat on the floor with my head in my hands and my eyes close until someone tapped me. I raised my head and came face to face with Jayden.

"Hey why aren't you cleaned up yet?"

"I am too tired. Today has been...uh eventful?"

He chuckles at my statement.

"Yeah it has. Now get up so we can leave. Here" he says handing me a handkerchief.

Then I let out a sneeze.

I sneezed on his face cause of the flour.

I bend my head in embarrassment as my face gets red. He wipes his face with his hands

"I'm so sorry. Oh my God. I'm so sor-"

"It's fine." He cut me off.

"Thanks. Let's go."

"Ugh! Lisa. I can't believe this Frenchie would do that to you." Eliza says as I come out and I nod in agreement.

"Hey!! This 'frenchie' is standing right here."

"Oh I'm very aware of that. Let's put dye in her shampoo as revenge." She whispers the last part to me and I giggle while Eliza throws a smirk towards Audrey.

When we reached the house I went straight to my room and had a nice hot bath. I wore my PJs and laid on my very comfortable bed.

.

.

.

Today we had a day off and so we are all going site seeing except for Audrey, she's not invited. Throughout the week, we constantly exchanged glares, I'm still on probation and Claudette still hates me. In the house, I make sure to give Audrey space; I don't want to be arrested for murder in a foreign country.

"Lisa hurry up!!" Eliza yells from outside. I quickly put on my sneakers, snatching my bag from the floor and racing out.

"Ok, I'm here." I say.

"Good." She replied.

We piled into the car. It was big enough for all four of us with more room, Jayden in the driver's seat, Evan in the passenger seat, I and Eliza at the back. Jayden decided it would be better to rent a car and since we have no idea on the direction, Google maps comes in handy.

"So..where are we headed first?" I ask.

Jayden looks at me from the rearview mirror, "well I was thinking we go to Músee du Louvre, then we can take it from there." I nod.

We drive out, taking in the view as we go. Eliza telling me about a bucket list she made of the things she wants to try and places she wants to go here in Paris. Her bucket list is so long.

Finally, we arrive Músee du Louvre and my, it's big and looks historic. I could see the glass pyramid from where I am standing. Right now, there are a lot of tourist, moving around the place, taking pictures.

"C'mon guys let's go." Evan says enthusiastically, dragging Jayden with him. Eliza and I share a look and burst out laughing. "Let's go."

I remember reading about the Louvre museum or Músee du Louvre (whichever), two years ago. It was once a palace to France's kings. It was built in the late 12th to 13th century under Philip II. The glass pyramid was designed by Leoh Ming Pei in 1971. This place contains more than 30,000 artwork from the 15th to the 19th century. Adjacent the Louvre is the Jardin des Tuileries, one of the largest parks in Paris. It looks more beautiful at night.

We walked all over the place, took pictures until my feet were sore and I was severely hungry. I met the others outside and we walked to the car.

"Guys please tell me we are going to eat cause I think I'm digesting my insides." I say with a groan.

"Oh stop exaggerating." Eliza rolls her eyes. "But I could use a bite or two of crepes." I glare at her.

"So does anyone know where we can eat?" Evan asks.

"No." We all chorused.

"How about we just drive randomly until we find one, there has to be one close by." Jayden suggested.

"Ok."

"Sure."

"Cool."

If only we knew what we'd get ourselves into.

Turns out there wasn't one close by so we had to drive aimlessly around the streets of Paris. We ended up in a park that I'm pretty sure we passed like five times.

"Guys? I think we are going in circles. And I'm still hungry." I inform.

"So what do we do? We've been on the road for thirty minutes now." Jayden frustration evident in his voice.

"Um-have you tried you know... Google maps perhaps?" Evan suggest.

I gasp, "how did we not think of that?"

"I have no idea." Eliza says.

Jayden quickly took out his phone and search up café in our area. It took us another thirty minutes to get there.

It was a cute little café; it's name is in French so I didn't bother to check. Eliza ordered crepes and orange juice for me. I couldn't read the menu which is nothing new so I let her order on my behalf.

Our orders arrived and my is it mouth watering. I quickly sink my teeth into it and unleashed an explosion of goodness.

"Oh my, this is sooo good. I can't even explain." I say with my mouth full. If my mom were here she'd bring out the spoon.

Eliza moans in agreement. The guys gives us weird looks before digging in. From their expression, I know they feel the same way we do but are trying to conceal it.

"What's next on our agenda?" Eliza asks.

"Well, I was thinking we go to the Cathedral Notre-Dame. I've always wanted to go there. I've read so much about the place." Evans says in glee.

"Well I guess that's our next stop." Jayden confirms.

"Then we can go to the Eiffel tower later. I heard it lights up at night so we go when the sunsets." We all agreed.

^^^^^^^

We are now standing in front of the Cathedral Notre-Dame and it is so high.

Evan stops and faces us with a smile.

"Guy, today, I'd be your personal tour guide."

"What do you mean personal guide?" Jayden asks his cousin.

"Well, you see, I've read a lot about this place a lot of times to know the history."

"Ok then. Tell us about it." I encourage

"As you wish." He starts, "Notre-Dame Cathedral started construction in 1163 having the foundation stone laid by Pope Alexander III and took over a hundred years to be completed. It's a church in paris famous of the gothic cathedrals in the middle ages. This was built on the ruins of two earlier churches and was initiated by Maurice de Sully, the bishop of paris.

The cathedral suffered damages and deterioration throughout the years and the french revolution is no exception, where angry mobs and revolutionists looted the cathedral. It was however, rescued from possible destruction Napoleon, who then crowned himself emperor of France in the cathedral in 1804."

When he finally finished we all look at him in disbelief, our mouths agape. He really does know everything about this place.

"Wow Evans, you really know a lot." Eliza commends. A faint red appears on his cheeks.

"Thanks."

"Can we go and explore now?" I ask.

"Yeah let's go." Eliza answers dragging me along.

We saw all that needed to be seen in this cathedral. It's so big I am so exhausted by the time we were done.

"So where to next? I know I said we should go to the Eiffel tower but I want us to go by night cause it lights up." Eliza says.

"So where do we go?"

"Um excuse me?" We all turn to the source of the voice.

"Hi?" I say in a question-like manner.

"Hey. Sorry to intrude but I overheard you guys looking for a place to go. Well we are tourist as well." he points to a group of people who were looking in our direction. "We are heading to party and it's supposed to be lit, with French booze. So we were wondering if you all would like to come along."

I gave the guy a questioning look and then turn back to my friends.

"Well we do need a place to go before sunsets and I've been meaning to take French alcohol for a while. It's on my bucket list." Eliza reasons. I turn to the guys and they gave a shrug.

I turn to the stranger, "I guess we'll come. We would follow in our car."

"Cool." he says happily.

We piled back into the car and followed in tow with the strange tourist guy. My Mum has always told me from a young age to never follow strangers anywhere so I wasn't comfortable going with this guy. I just felt uneasy.

We arrived and it doesn't look like a party is going on here. I am still skeptical but follow them in. The stranger opens a small door and enters and we follow suit. It leads into a narrow hallway which is dimly lit. We move further and he opens another door and now I I could hear the thumping of music, and people cheering. It's like an underground club of some sort. The place is crowded and reeks of sweat and alcohol.

I already lost Evan and Eliza so I was left with Jayden. Determine not to lose him too, I drag him with you to the bar. I sat on a bar stool and he sat next to me.

"This wasn't what I was expecting." I say, looking around.

"Me neither. Two of your finest drinks." Jayden tells the bartender.

" Make that one. I don't really take alcohol."

"Oh." Is all he says.

I keep looking around and when I looked at Jayden, there was a petit French girl that has herself wrapped around him. They seem to be having a good time. I look away back to the crowd of French people. It doesn't look any different from parties I have attended back in the US and London. Bodies grinding on each no other. People drinking like their lives depends on it, people kissing sloppily. The whole scene was nauseating so I turned back to face the bar only to notice that Jayden was being dragged away by the girl he was talking.

I wasn't going to seat here any longer. I made my way to him.

"Um.. Jayden?"

"Lisa!!! Come join us." He yells over the music.

"No. No. I just letting you know I would be in the car waiting for you guys. Meet me by 7 okay?"

"Sure." He waves.

I squeeze my way to the entrance and had to go through the creepy hallway and out to where we parked our car. I say on the hood of the car whilst bringing out my phone. I randomly scroll through my instagram and I lost track of time.

By the time I look up, the sky is already dark. I quickly call Eliza–no answer.

Evan–no answer.

Jayden, also no answer. I get worried and start going back to look for them. I squeeze my way through the narrow hallway and made it inside. It's hotter than it was before and I think 95% of people here are already drunk...their actions says it all.

I look everywhere for them but I can't find them. They aren't picking my calls. I see the guy who brought us here at the bar so I went to him.

"Hey did you see my friends?"

"Oi... I reeeemember you." He snapped his fingers in recognition. His words slurred.

"Do you know where they are?"

"Yesss. I s-aw them." He staggers, raising his cup. "Youuu waant a drr- ink?"

"No. Where did they go." I press on. Jeez getting information out of drunk people Is hard. You'd think that in their drunk state, you'd be able to get them to talk easily but hell no.

"Theyyy weere go–what was I sayyying again?"

"My friends?"

"Oh yeah...they left. You just missed themmm." He burps. I gave a look of disgust.

"Um...thanks." I turn on my heels and head for the exit.

I'm finally out of that hell hole. Note to self: never follow strangers in a foreign land or anywhere really. I went to the space where we parked only to see the car gone.

They didn't leave without me did they?

No, no maybe we got robbed. No that's worse...the car is rented. Oh no.

I try calling again but straight to voicemail.

They actually left me.
