The Boss's sister

Stephanie was helping her sister that choked on her drink. If I had taken a sip, I would be in that same situation. We all look at her as if she had grown another head. Was she crazy to play jokes that?

"Why don't you guys believe me?" she asked breaking the silence. "You worked for my brother long enough."

"Yeah!" Stephanie softly exclaimed. "We didn't even know how he looked." she was making crazy hand gestures. "We third-degree workers. We get orders from Daniels."

I was dumbstruck. Candice was an only child or so I thought and even if I knew her surname and Mr. Black's surname was the same, I never expected them to be related. I met many people carrying my surname, it doesn't mean, we are all family, right?

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her. "I considered you, my best friend but you nothing but a stranger to me."

With that, I walked off. I knew I couldn't be angry at her for long because it wasn't her fault. Her brother chose to hide his face, it wasn't her choice. When my brothers are hiding from NYPD, I lied for my brother's safety. I felt guilty afterward but family comes first so I knew why she had to do what she did.

My feet carried me to the safety of home, my brother's arms. I didn't even know where August or Charles was but I guess the heart knew the away because when I looked up, I looked into the eyes of my handsome brother, Oggie.

I put a smile on my face. "August!" I gave him a hug. I haven't seen August for a month now. Oliver, I see every day since he visits Alison a lot. I have to go to the house to see my brothers and my sister, I have to phone because she's a stay at home mom to the world but she had a little business which I didn't want to walk in on.

"Little sis." he returned my hug. I kissed his cheek. "You look gorgeous."

"Not too bad yourself, big brother," I said.

"I heard you and Ben are still going strong," August said as he wrapped an arm around my waist.

"That's my baby, that," I said with a huge smile on my face.

"Who's your baby?" A familiar voice said. A voice I knew all too well.

"Ben!" I hugged him. "You're my baby, baby." He kissed my cheek.

Ben and I stayed and talked with my brother. Apparently, I missed Charles, he left just before I arrived. The dance was going as planned. I was helping out in the kitchen since it was my duty and I needed to get out of my shoes. I was wearing gladiators and it was killing my feet. I was about to take off my shoes when I heard my name.

"Rose!" I turned my head to find Candice heading in my direction. She left me alone half of the evening. Its probably to calm down. "Come, we go dancing."

Before I could even object she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the dance floor. She wrapped her arms. around my waist and I wrapped my hands around her shoulders. We were swaying with no conversations between us. I had to help in the kitchen because if this dance ended, dinner started.

"I am sorry, Rosie." she kissed my cheek. "My brother has basically claimed you, Rose." she gave me a smile. "I was born his sister, I need to obey his wishes. If my brother's claim pulls through, you will learn a lot about him and me." I hugged her. "I can't reveal my brother's secrets." I pulled away from her.

"I wasn't angry." I smiled. "I have brothers remember."

"I know." She smirked. "And I am not your friend. Don't insult me like that."

"What?"

"I am your sister, bitch." I smiled. "If my brother opens too you, I will have no secrets except the fact that I am sleeping with Charles." I nearly choked on my spit. She said it as if she was talking about the weather.

"I think he's engaged, Candy," I said. I didn't talk much to Charles but two months ago he told me, he was in a serious relationship and I guess I thought he would propose to the girl that he has been seeing for five years.

"Jokes." She gave a laugh and I nearly had a heart attack twice this evening. "I know, he loves this Betty."

Candice and I were fine again because we started joking and playing around as we danced. I couldn't afford to lose her. When we moved here, five years ago, I found Candice and Ms. Maggie and I can't lose them. Since I met them, I have been able to live and worry about my brothers at the same time.

Ms. Maggie, she never lied to me but she wasn't fully honest because I had to figure out that, that random stranger was never random at all. Mr. Black knew I was at Ms. Maggies's every day. He knew what I ordered and where I sat. He knew everything and planned the whole day to the bone. He was wicked clever but it's people like him, we should fear.

Candice twirled me straight into the arms. of her brothers and even did a freaking bow. I gave her a scowl and she gave me a smile. I fixed my position with her brother. We were now standing in the middle of the dance floor as a new song started, last dance before dinner and I am hungry. He looked down at me and I refused to look at him, instead, I looked at his rock hard chest. The moment I look into his eyes I will lose all power to resist him.

"Princess..." he whispered softly.

If I wasn't focusing on him and his godly scent, I would have missed it. He whispered it so soft, that it felt like a hot spring breeze brushing across my face. "Mr. Black," I replied eventually.

"Princess, you will soon carry that surname." I looked up at him and he smirked. "If I had my way, you would be naked the moment I laid eyes on you." I choked on my spit.

This man will be the death of me. "Mr. Black, you are my boss." I sigh. If only he wasn't.

Where the fuck did that thought come from? If only he wasn't.. if he wasn't my boss then what? I would give in. I was about to give in with or without him being my boss. Mr. Black had something no man had and he has an effect on me, that no man has ever had. He makes me feel, he makes me want to live but him only. He makes me feel important, something I haven't felt since I turned ten.

"Princess, You look beautiful." he plainly but when he says it, it becomes more than just words. I don't know but it is much more, he meant much more in his simple words.

I immediately blushed. "Thank you," I said shyly. "Mr. Black?" he lifted my chin so I had to make eye contact. He made a gesture for me to continue. "You choose me, I assume?" to which he nodded. "Every book, every movie. Each girl had a different personality but all of them had the same outcome."

I took his hand and lead him to a more private area. His hand was big against my small hand. I felt like a child leading her father to something she wanted. As messed up as that sounds it wasn't far from the truth, instead of father and child, it was boss and employee.

"So princess.." he started. "You think this is your small-minded fairy tales?" he didn't give me a chance to answer, instead he continued his little speech. "This isn't some prince charming story." he gave me a smirk and lead me further into the hotel until we reached a room.

He opens the door and I knew it was a bedroom but I wasn't sure if it was his bedroom or if he just like breaking and entry. "Mr. Black." I wasn't leading him anymore instead he was taking me to where he wanted, he gave up control for a second and I was stupid to think that I'll ever have the upper hand.

I sat down and he took a seat as well. "You might be a princess, princess." I smiled at that sentence. For him, it must have been a pain to say it. "But I am no prince. I am a King," he said with courage and it made me want to proclaim to the world how proud I am of a complete stranger who happens to be my boss.

"I never said you were prince, Mr. Black." I fiddled with my fingers out of nervousness. "I just wanted to say, that in all those stories the girl falls for her capture but not me, I love Ben, Mr. Black." I looked up to meet his eyes only to find a smirk on his face.

"You see, princess." he walked towards me. "I built my Kingdom from the bones of those who weren't of importance. Everyone working for me has two sides including you." I was confused, to say the least. "Candice, she is by blood a princess but she will never be queen because there is no king above me." he bent down to my level. "To the world, she is but a secretary to Devil's tech but to my world, she is of royal blood and should be treated as such."

"What world is it you talking about, Mr. Black?" I questioned. "The underworld?" I guessed out loud.

"Hit the nail right on the head, Princess."
