Ready…set…go. I loved hide and seek and we were drunk and high out of our minds but we still going for the prize knowing it’s going to piss Lucifer off. Lucifer came about thirty minutes go and since then we have been hiding in the shark room. It was the first place he looked and we knew he would go back so we made a run for it.
“Look, the underground parking is connected to this room but I can’t tell you if it’s lock or not,” Candice said with a huge grin on her face. “This is fucking exciting,” she whispered.
“Can’t you open it from the inside?” I asked. I was terrified out of my mind. The adrenaline of this is too much and it’s pushing my hormones to the next level of excitement and fear.
“That could work,” Candice whispered.
“Shh!, listen,” Zephanie said.
“Four females,” Lucifer said. We all assumed he was walking to the security or men present with him. “The Alexander sister are to be found and taken to my sister’s room.”
“No shit,” Stephanie said and rolled her eyes.
“Nothing is come to them, use no violence but force if necessary.”
“Is he God?” Zephanie asked.
“I’ll find Rosella and my sister. Should any of you come upon them, bring them to me, immediately.” Lucifer said. “Dismissed.”
And so the game began. We had a plan and it was a stupid plan. We were closer to the escape door than any of them looking for us. There were about five of them including Mr. Black. He was near the entrance room and he was pissed.
We planned to get a phone and call it directing them in a different direction than our current hideout spot because the sharks are going to give away our hiding spot if they continue banging against the glass.
“Sir, someone’s by the gate.” An unknown person said. “They looking for Ms. Candice.”
He sent someone to the gate and that meant one down four to go. I played a song and slide my phone in the opposite direction. “That’s our gap, keep low and fast,” Candice said.
“Yes, ma’am,” we said in unison and almost laughed.
We crawled out of the room and into the main area. My heart was stuck in my throat. I felt like a partaker of the death race. God, if this was wrong turn, I pitied the last and first-person. I watched many movies to know what we are doing can only backfire and it’s going to burn like hell.
We made it and cue the mental dance of victory. The door could open from the inside so it counted in our favor. Candice opened the door and we went through the doors and the worst part was when Candice and I locked eyes with her brother.
“Sister, I will find you and you will pay, Princess.” He said to both of us.
Candice closed the door and wrapped the handles with the rope we found inside the little man cave. “ We not safe.” Candice broke our smiles of joy and relief. “Anyone has access to this parking from the outside. The elevator will take us up to the house and from there we have to find the one place my brother won’t look.”
We made our way for the elevator. Luck was on our side, we entered the lift and just as the doors were closing, Stephanie said. “Bitch, that is my boss and I love my job. So I’ll see you guys at work tomorrow.”
“I’m with my sister.”
“You guys are horrible,” I said. “Leaving Candice and me to fend for ourselves.” I rolled my eyes. “Great friends you are.”
“Okay, they will search you at the gate. Dress and take what you can. I love you.” Candice said.
We hugged each other and the doors opened. We had a few minutes to hide before Mr. Black came into the house. Candice wanted to go to the one place he wouldn’t look and that was his wing. It was a clever tactic but it was risky because he would eventually come to his room.
His wing had four rooms. The master bedroom with its walk-in closet, en-suite and the basic. The other rooms consist of a little office, a bar, and a sitting area. According to Candice, her brother loved his space and he wanted everything he could ever need with him at all times. So the only time he would come downstairs was to do paperwork in the main office and to eat, other than that she would never see her brother.
His closet was big and extremely neat for a man. This was heaven. His scent surrounded the whole wing. As soon as you entered through the double doors, you could smell his scent. That powerful and masculine scent he wore with pride. He had his watches organized. The Rolex watches were on top and worked down from there. His socks were organized. Everything was at its place. His shirts were color code to the correspondent with his suites. His casual clothes were expensive as hell and were neatly folded and place in drawers.
“Is your brother OCD?” I asked Candice. “I’m a female and I’m not even this neat.”
Candice through me a smile. “He hates looking for stuff so he packs everything in order. This whole house was designed by Lucifer. He knows every spoon to every piece of furniture brought. Even everything in my room went through Lucifer.”
I took a hoodie from his clothes, I was as careful as a mouse not to touch anything else. “Do you think he’ll mind?” I asked Candice. I was getting cold. She shook her head and I put on the hoodie and immediately his scent engulfed me. We sat down on the floor.
Candice sat in between my legs. The weed was wearing out and we were tired as hell. “You know, I am extremely comfortable around Lucifer,” Candice said out of nowhere. “Like, I could come out of the shower and he would be in my room to discuss my family drama or something and I would dress in front of him.” She laughed. “He is no fucking gentlemen. He would keep eye contact and when I am done dressing he would drag me to the office so he could have the upper advantage.”
“I can’t do that with my brothers,” I told her honestly.
“But you guys have a bond. Hades, well, Hades probably came into my life with I was fifteen. I went where Lucifer went so when he came to America with Maria, I tag along. I was born here but Italy is my home country. Hades stayed at home but he was still my brother. Lucifer bathed me, clothed me so I had nothing to be ashamed of. Anyway, my point is that you are my heart, Rosella Bell.” She turned to stare at me. “But if you hurt Lucifer, I am afraid that would terminate our friendship.”
I stared at her and she at me. “I’m not even in any relationship with him.”
“For now.” She responded.
“And if he hurts me?” I tested her. I needed to know how strong her loyalty to her brother is.
“Then I’ll personally kick his ass.” She smiled. “I love you but Lucifer was born into responsibly. He didn’t have what you or Hades had growing up so his heart is made of glass, it’s easy breakable and hard to restore.”
I yawned. “I love you too and when or if I give in, I'll take care of him. I promise.” I closed my eyes because it was becoming a mission trying to keep them open. “You are the one person that shouldn't judge my relationship skills,” I told her. “You all pressured me to break up with Ben but I stayed because I loved him and I didn’t want to hurt him.” I continued. I asked Candice if we could make use of the bed because we were both tired and the floor was uncomfortable. She was against it so we decided to lay on the couch.
“It's my brother,” Candice says. “Whatever practice or safety net I had, is gone when he is involved.”
I nodded. “Whatever morals or principals I have disappears when I protect my family. Right or wrong.” I would give my life protecting my siblings. My sister is my queen and my brothers are my heroes and for them, I would sacrifice anything. “Goodnight, my pie.”
“Nights, my sweetie.”
I was too tired to even think of being found as long as I found sleep. I closed my eyes and let the comfort of Mr. Black’s hoodie surround me into a world of darkness. I gave one last sigh of content as I slip into the world of unconsciousness
