Chapter Forty-Two

BRYAN ROSE UP indignantly.

"that's out of the question. We aren't using Aine for bait. In fact, if I had my way, that woman never so much as breathe in the same air that Aine breathes."

Winslow looked at him, doing his best to hide the sadness, he felt. He knew Bryan wouldn't like what he said, he had expected nothing else.

" Bryan…" Aine said softly, rising and taking his head as she did, "Let's at least hear what he needs to say, it might not be that bad." she said with a smile.

But Winslow wasn't fooled. He could see the distress in her eyes.

Winslow waited until Bryan was sitting again before he spoke and he chose to be direct, not to beat around the bush. He meant everything he had to say, even if he didn't knew it would not sit well with his audience,

"Alright then, I'm all ears." Bryan drawled out. Winslow heaved out a sigh,
