A story of Prohibited love, of terrorism and war, and the raw lives of a war-stricken land and its people. Tamina, a 19-year-old girl, survives a turbulent time, and meets a soldier named Jacob, from a land which she had never heard of. Despite being different from each other in all aspects, they find love amidst the war between her country and the budding terrorist organisation, the 'Sharias'. The story depicts her journey into adulthood, her land's unstable future in the hands of foreigners, of the terrorist organisation 'the Sharias' and her love that has been nipped by the cruelty of war and invasion by the foreigners as well as the 'Sharias'. A fiction written without a veil or extension, 'Under the merciless sun' is the raw depiction of those people and lands threatened by war, of foreign invasion and terrorism.

Jacob stared out of the window as he was longing for something. His thoughts and mind were occupied by a single person. Dr. Amir had told him to fight the pain of loosing her, but he had lost and was now drowning in it. As each second passes, Jacob felt like he was loosing his sanity. He haven’t reported to his unit even a single day after he had returned from Belgarath. His friends, his colleagues, his senior officers, everyone tried to get in touch with him, but he shut himself in his room. Nobody bothered to pull him out of that dark abyss except Dr. Amir.
