From ancient times, there existed businesses that sold wishes if the customer paid the right price. It didn't matter if the wisher was human or not. For more reasons than one, the current wish granted Xiao finds it is difficult to not get lost in the mysteries of his job and the world around him. There is discord brewing all around him.

And, as the water thickens, so does the stakes for everyone involved. Magic might turn out to be not so magical after all as their worlds collide in his view. Not to mention, their latest acquaintance seems a little sketchy. 

And the dreams that haunt one's subconsciousness make everything much more complicated.

The Business of Wishes

Walking for a continuous stretch of a few hours takes a toll on one’s body. Xiao felt it first handed while walking to their destination. 


The child in his arms fell asleep a long time ago, so there had been no way Xiao could have made him walk. Not that he would take the risk with the current mental condition of the child. 


As for Kei, he had led the whole way with a devilish grin on his face. Most likely amused at his suffering. He had tried to pass the child onto Kei once he was asleep, but as soon as his arms felt light, an uneasy expression crossed the child’s face. 


It looked like he was about to wake up, so Xiao had given up on that idea and just decided to suffer. 


It was only thanks to his magic that was boosting his stamina at this point. However, even that had its limit and his body felt the aftermath. It was accumulating every second and that was a reason they could not stop to rest.
