Through blurry vision she strained to look at the person calling out to her. Rhea! He called again. Who is it again? Her eyes kept rolling into her skull as she tried to keep looking at the person. Phil? He kept calling out to her, but her hearing was fading. She was slowly plunging into darkness.
So this is how it is like to die.
All the colours around her were fading with her vision. All her senses were shutting down. She opened her mouth to say something, but the words failed to come out. The last thing left in her senses was a warmth on her cheek. Then all was dark.
It started with a small light far in her vision. The light kept growing in intensity, slowly. The golden light began to fill her surrounding. And then she opened her eyes.
Phileas saw her glow in her entirety and her eyes turned golden. Shocked by her sudden awakening, he just sat there next to her body lying in his arms. He watched her slowly sit up, then stand up and walk through the grass. Where she stepped, golden weeds sprouted out leaving behind a trail of gold dust. She kept walking, as if completely unaware of the trail she left behind her. Anyone who knew Sarah would be bewildered to see her like this now, walking in a trance surrounded by a golden aura.
Phileas got up just in time and ran to her side, because after a while Sarah's energy seemed to have drained out and she fainted. He caught her just in time.
"Sarah, no...Rhea...is that your magic? Have you found it?" he pulled her close to him, "I thought you died," he choked on his words and tears began to fall again. The dark forest that ever so suddenly bathed in a golden light became shrouded in darkness again.
