Chapter 57: The Cornwallis Estate

Unlike the Viscount estate, the Duke's estate had a heavy air about it. It seemed that instead of rows of flowers along the path, he preferred rows of conifers which towered above the streets casting their long shadows on the passersby. There was a certain level of serenity present in this if one could ignore the slightly unwelcoming vibes.

Duke Edward's residence was similar. No major display of colours, gardening style like that of Italian gardening in the human realm, and a large two-storied house made of white marble. The Duke received Rhea and Phileas at the gate and escorted them to the dining hall after a brief tour of his house. There, Edward was standing in wait for them.
