Chapter 4- Truth

“I don’t really know how to start this off.” My aunt looked down at the book she was holding and rubbed over its exterior.

“I sometimes don’t know how to say things to Jane, and then I just blurt it out, cover my mouth, and move on from there.” I joked.

My aunt smiled and said, “It is not that easy with this.” She gave another sigh and then put the book down between us.

“Okay, let me start off with, we are not like most people. We are different.” She looked at me and I think she expected me to know what she was talking about.

“So what, are we royalty or aliens or what?” I asked a little confused.

She shifted in her seat and cleared her throat, “No, not entirely.”

“What do you mean, not entirely?”

“You and I…” She took a deep breath and just let it out. “We are witches. Uncle Brendan is a warlock. We are part of a witch coven which, excuse the pun, I am in charge of.”
