Chapter 10- Getting Witchy

The morning sun cast long golden rays through the windows of the Gabriel estate, illuminating the dust motes floating in the air. Nadia stood barefoot in the garden, the cool grass soft beneath her feet. The world around her was alive—the scent of damp earth, the whisper of leaves in the gentle breeze, the rhythmic croak of frogs in the distance.

For the first time, she wasn’t just experiencing it—she could feel it. Hear it. As if the magic within her was reaching out, intertwining with everything around her.

Her aunt’s voice cut through the moment.

“Close your eyes, Nadia,” Patricia instructed. “Breathe in deep. Feel the air shift, listen to the magic humming beneath the surface.”

Nadia exhaled, letting her shoulders relax. She had spent the last two days throwing herself into training, pushing aside her emotions—especially those tied to Marlow. Every time he called, every time he texted, she ignored it. Her magic was what mattered now. She needed control.
