“Hera.”
“Hera.”
“Hera.”
“Hera Elizabeth Ross.”
“What do you want Scarlett Ruth Ross?”
“Don’t say my full name.”
“Well then, don’t say mine.”
“Yours isn’t even that bad. Mine is Ruth.”
“And mine is Elizabeth. Sounds too posh to me.”
“At least it’s not Ruth.”
“What did you want Scar?”
“Oh. Right. I’m bored Hera.”
“Are you kidding me? You’re nagging me like a 3 year old because you’re bored.”
“Yes. Can we do something? Please.”
“Like what Scar.”
“Let’s make some cupcakes!”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m doing my Art homework.”
“Come on Hera. Please. You’ll have time to do it later. Just kill my boredom for me and I won’t nag you anymore.”
“Fine.”
“Really?”
“But you’re not allowed to disturb me after. Okay?”
“Promise.”
It’s Saturday and Dad went off to do some shopping with Gabe and Mikey. That means I’m left here at home with the twins, Bella and Finn. Scar wanted to do something, so we decided to bake some cupcakes to kill her boredom.
I was in the kitchen setting up everything we needed to make cupcakes. Rene and Scar came in with their hair tied back. Shortly after, Bella was also in the kitchen. I told the girls to put an apron on so that they wouldn’t mess up their shirts.
Within seconds I was mixing, stirring, stopping the twins from eating the batter, and filling the cupcake cups with the batter. The oven then beeped, telling me that it was ready to be used and so I popped the cupcakes in.
“So how long do we have to wait until they’re done?” Bella asked.
“About 20 minutes.” I told her.
“So what do we do while waiting?” Rene asked, while pouting.
“Well, you girls could clean all the flour that you messed around the kitchen.”
Twenty minutes later the alarm went off and the girls started to get all excited. I took the baked cupcakes out of the oven and set them down on the table top to cool before decorating them. While waiting for the cupcakes to cool down, I decided to make the buttercream for them. Scar wanted the buttercream to be purple but Bella wanted it pink and Rene wanted it blue. All three of them started shouting and fighting about what colour I should make the buttercream. So I made all three colours.
By the time I was done with the buttercream, the cupcakes were already cool enough to decorate. I piped eight of each buttercream colour onto the cakes and let the girls put the sprinkles on them.
“Okay, we’re done now.” I said to the girls.
“Can we have one Hera?” Rene asked me.
“Sure. But only one. We’ll have the rest when dad and the lads get back.”

I’m on winter break now. Which means I don’t have school for two weeks, and Christmas is in four days. We set our tree up last night and put up christmas decorations around the house. Dad had already bought gifts for everyone and I stayed up with him last night wrapping them. So I knew what everyone was getting, but dad didn’t let me see my present. He said my gift wasn’t here yet.
It’s three in the evening and we’re all in the living room watching Nativity when the doorbell starts to ring. Dad was about to get up and answer it, but I told him I would go get it. I got up from my seat and went to the front door.
I opened the door and saw a familiar face.
“Hey Hero.” Sam greeted me with a smile.
“Hi Samuel.” I sent him a smile back. “What are you doing here?”
“Just dropping some christmas cookies mum made.”
“Oh thanks. They look good.”
“Your welcome.”
“Do you want to come inside?” I asked him. It was pretty cold out here.
“Nah. It’s okay. I gotta get back now anyway. Merry Christmas Hero.”
“Merry Christmas Samuel.”
I shut the door and went into the kitchen and put the cookies Sam gave on the table. I went back into the living room to continue watching the film.
“Who was at the door?” Finn asked me.
“It was Sam. He came to drop off some Christmas cookies that Rachel made.”
“You want to come with us to Winter Wonderland tomorrow? Me and Sam are planning on going tomorrow night.”
“Sure. Why not?”
I actually already went the other day with my friends, but why not go a second time. Maybe I could ask Beck to come. He’s probably never been there. I get my phone out of my pocket to text Beck. Wait. I don’t have his number. I’ll just DM him on instagram, since we follow each other.
Hera : Hey Beck.
It took a while until he replied.
Beck : Hey Shera. Why are you DMing me out of nowhere?
Hera : Cause I don’t have your number to text you. Anyway, have you been to Winter Wonderland before?
Beck : No, I haven’t actually. I’ve heard about it, but I haven’t been before. Isn’t it like in London.
Hera : Yeah. There is one in London, but we also have one here. I’m going with Finn and Sam tomorrow. Do you want to come with us?
Beck : Aaww Shera. Are you asking me out on a date?
Hera : What? No. EEww. Why would I ever go on a date with you? I was just trying to be nice, you prick.
Beck : That’s so thoughtful of you Shera. Okay I’ll come tomorrow. Should I meet you there?
Hera : Yeah. I’ll send you the location. See you tomorrow then.
Beck : Thanks Shera. I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow ;)
I roll my eyes at that. Beck isn’t so bad but he can still be pretty annoying.
“Finn, I asked Beck to come with us tomorrow. Is that okay with you?”
“Yeah. Sure. I don’t see why not.” Finn gave me a weird look.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Do you have a crush on Beck?”
“No! Gross. Why would you think that?”
“Cause you want to go to Winter Wonderland with him.”
“That’s because he’s never been there before. And I’m just being nice.”
“Sure. Whatever you say Shera.” Finn used the nickname that Beck calls me.
I throw a pillow at his face to shut him up.
“Guys stop fighting.” Mikey scolds us. “Can’t you see we’re trying to watch a film.”
Dad started laughing at that and I sent a glare at Finn, who was sticking his tongue out at me.
“You are so immature.” I said to Finn.
“And you have a crush on Beck.”
“No. I. Don’t.”
“You both are immature, okay. So now please be quiet. Because some of us want to watch the film. Not hear you two bicker about Beck.” Mikey was clearly annoyed.
I let out a sigh and continued watching the film.

It’s funny how interesting the ceiling is at 3 in the morning. I’ve been in bed staring at my ceiling for two hours, and I can’t make myself fall asleep. I don’t why. I can’t be asked to do anything right now. I can’t remember the last time I've had more than two to three hours of sleep. I know that this is probably bad for my health, but I just can’t seem to ever fall asleep.
I talked to Mary and Amy about it. Amy told me that I should go see a doctor because she thinks I’m an insomniac. Mary agreed with her. This was about 4 months ago. No one else knows about it. I don’t want to trouble dad just because I’m not sleeping well. Even my own twin doesn’t know. Amy and Mary are probably right. I should go see a doctor, but that would mean I have to tell dad because I’m a minor, so I have to go with him.
I’ll wait a few more weeks, and if I’m still not sleeping right, then I’ll tell dad. But for now I’ll just keep this to myself.
