I never understood that fluttery feeling people always say they get around the guy they like. Sure, I’ve dated a few guys, but none of them have ever made me feel that.
The way Alicia describes how she feels around Harry makes it sound like he’s the perfect guy. The way he holds her hand when they’re walking, how he knows what she likes and dislikes, when he brings her ice-cream whenever she’s sad, the fact that he knows when she’s on her period and he’ll buy all her favourite snacks. That’s a real relationship. That’s truly love. I don’t ever want them to break up. They’re just simply perfect for each other.
I, on the other hand, can’t even have a relationship longer than 4 month. That’s the longest I’ve been with someone, and it was Kieron. My shortest relationship was with Mason in year 8, which only lasted 3 days. Guys are a lot of work. Sometimes they don’t even really want to be in a relationship, they just want to date you because they like the idea of being seen with you. That’s how it felt for me anyway.
Growing up, my parents weren't exactly the perfect couple. My mum always put her work before us and since she never contributed to pay the bills it was all on my dad to handle. He had to work to keep a roof above our heads. Whenever the both of them were home, they would start arguing. Dad would tell mum that she’s not being fair and is only thinking about herself and she’ll say that just because she’s a woman it doesn’t mean she has to stay at home looking after her kids. Mam-gu was the one who looked after us when we were younger. She’d try to distract us from mum and dad shouting. I just don’t get it. How do you fall in love, have kids, then fall out of love and just leave. Was even truly love then?
Love scares me.
“Hey, you wanna come over later?” Sam asked me as we were walking to P.E.
“Do Finn and you want me there?”
“You’re his twin, he won’t mind. I don’t mind either.” He shrugs.
“I don’t think I want to go. I’m feeling really tired today.” It’s true. I just want to go home and lay in bed with Ace. He’s such a good cuddle buddy.
“I get it. You do look like a zombie right now.” He chuckled.
“Are you implying that I look ugly? That’s just mean Samuel.”
“I’m sorry Hero. Please forgive me.”
“Only if you get me chocolate milk at lunch.” I cannot tell you how much I love chocolate milk. It’s literally one of the best drinks ever created, alongside coffee too.
“Okay. I’ll get you chocolate milk at lunch.”
Once we were in the sports hall, we both parted ways, since he had to get changed and I just waited on the bench with Miss.Warlow since I can’t do P.E because of my knee.

“Mae angen i chi fwyta mwy o Hera, rydych chi'n teneuo bob tro y byddwch chi'n dod i ymweld.” Mam-gu is telling me how I need to eat more because everytime I come and visit her I look skinnier.
“Ymddiried ynof mam-gu, dwi'n bwyta llawer. In fact, I think I eat way to much sometimes.” I told her.
“It’s because she has a fast metabolism, mam-gu.” Finn butted in.
“Yep. I’m a football player. Or used to be.”
“Well, I’ve got some scones baking in the oven for you guys. We’ll have them with cream and jam for tea.” Mam-gu loves baking. I learnt how to bake from her. Scones with cream and jam is the most welsh thing ever.
We’re all at mam-gu’s place. Dad dropped us off here while he’s out on a date with Dani. I think their relationship is getting serious. As long as he’s happy with her then I don’t really mind.
We were all in the kitchen watching mam-gu take out a fresh batch of scones from the oven and put another batch in. The smell of scones hot from the oven made my tummy rumble.
“Mam-gu, can I have one now.” Bella pleaded with her baby doll eyes.
“Ddim eto Bell. Patience. I said we’re having them for tea, not now.” Mam-gu said while putting the scones on a cooling rack.
“But I’m hungry.”
“So am I mam-gu.” Mikey cries.
“Have an apple then. The scones are still hot. You’ll burn your tongue if you have them now.” Mam-gu reasons out with them.
“Can we take Ace out to play in the garden mam-gu?” Rene asks. We meant her and Scar.
“Go on then girls.” Mam-gu replied.
“So your father is quite fond of Dani. They’ve been on a few dates, how much do you kids know about her?” Mam-gu was curious about dad and Dani’s relationship. I don’t blame her though.
“We don’t know that much. I know that she owns a boutique in town. She’s been over for dinner a few times and she’s really nice.” Gabe tells mam-gu.
“So you kids wouldn’t mind if she becomes your new mother?”
“Whoa mam-gu.” Finn was surprised by mam-gu’s question and honestly so was I. “It’s only been a couple of months.”
“Yes, but it seems that they’re getting serious. Besides, wouldn't it be nice to have a mother who cares for your father and all of you.” Mam-gu is right. Dad does deserve someone who cares for him and so do the younger kids.
"I guess." I shrugged.
*AN- I am really sorryabout this chapter being supershort but I've got a lot of things going on lately, so yeah. Anyway, thank youfor supporting me and reading my book.
