Tolani had been married to her husband Tunji for twenty-one years in a society that preached and encouraged male superiority and partiality. She took all the hurts and betrayals from him until the day she learnt he had been keeping a shocking secret from her for twenty years. THE MAD MAMMOTH

 After listening to the entire story, Ebun asked Linda to go back home and take the child away from school. 


 “I’ll be in touch within two days.” She told Linda. 


 As soon as Linda left Ebun called the lawyer she usually used for difficult cases. They immediately filed a case of child abuse and cruelty against a minor against Mr. Adamu. As not many people used the option of going to court in those days, cases were assigned very quickly. By the next week Mr. Adamu was served with a hearing notice. He rushed to employ a very good lawyer but after the lawyer was briefed and seeing how bad the case was, the lawyer explained to Mr. Adamu that the judges were very intolerant of fathers who abused their own children. He further explained to him that from the several charges against him he could be facing up to twenty years imprisonment. He told him that his best bet was to reach out to the academy’s lawyer and settle out of court. For the first time in his life Mr. Adamu was scared.
