Tolani had been married to her husband Tunji for twenty-one years in a society that preached and encouraged male superiority and partiality. She took all the hurts and betrayals from him until the day she learnt he had been keeping a shocking secret from her for twenty years. At that point Tolani knew it was time to take her revenge not just against her husband but also against every single person who had been his enabler and she wouldn't let anything stop her in her mission.

THE MAD MAMMOTH

 Despite knowing all she knew, Tolani at least expected Tunji to hide his bad habits for the duration of the time his mother was with them but she was surprised that he didn’t bother to. He came back late and sometimes he would be reeking of alcohol. He didn’t seem to mind that his mother was around to witness all he was doing. Tolani never complained until one day she was washing his clothes and saw a used condom in his pocket. She waited till he had eaten dinner before confronting him because she didn’t want his mother to say he didn’t eat because of her again. His mother was holding the baby and he was sitting near her while they both watched television in the sitting room. Tolani took the condom and the trousers she saw it in which was now washed and dried and went to show him. 


 “I saw this in your pocket,” she said calmly. He looked at her, the trousers and the condom and kept watching television. 


 “Tunji, what is all this?” His mother said.
