Chapter 19: Old Wounds
Argent
Grim-faced, everyone steps into my office and takes a seat. Several of the men give Voodoo a wide berth as soon as he sits down. I can see why Sebastian and Phoenix say that the man is odd. There’s just something that screams warning when I look at him. He’s almost stiff and mechanical in his movements. His gaze examines the room until he found a spot that he was comfortable with, and his face remains blank.
Logan and I stand in front of the desk and face the men.

Voodoo’s head snaps in my direction. “I don’t understand your question.” He mutters in a careful tone. I can see that I put him on alert, and that’s not what I meant to do.
Logan looks at me and shrugs, so I continue.
