Chapter 18: I can’t…I won’t. Even if it hurts 


 Logan has been pulling away from me. I can feel it. He tries to hide it, but I can sense that something is off. I know that I shouldn’t be so paranoid about having that talk with Gran, yet the more I think about it, the more I know something is wrong. 


 He shows up an hour later, looking a bit harried, which heightens my concern. 


 “Is everything okay?” I ask nervously. 


 “Everything is fine. We found the man who has been setting up the hunting party, and we’re planning on paying him a visit soon.” 


 My heart speeds up with fear as the reality of his words penetrate my brain. “What? Are you serious?” 


 Logan nods evenly. There is very little emotion on his face. He might as well be a statue. It’s a bit unnerving. “What are you going to do?” I ask carefully.
