Chapter 21: And, Action

Chapter 21: And, Action

Ewan

I’m enraged. No, I’m beyond enraged. I’m seething. As I hold Taryn’s fragile form in my arms, all I can think about is killing my father. I’m in disbelief at what I heard. I mean, I always knew that my father was a bloody sod, but I never imagined he’d try to rape a sixteen-year-old girl. It’s beyond reprehensible. I look down at her sleeping face, and my rage heightens at the sight of her swollen eyes, sodden cheeks, and drying tears. The bastard tried to rape her!

I haven’t made the call, but I’m still holding my phone in my hand. I have to give myself a minute to calm down before I call my brother and rail at him for not taking action on our father's weeks ago.

Once I’ve found some semblance of calm, I dial Logan’s number.

“This better be important, Ewan, because it’s late as fuck, and you just woke up my wife.” He mumbles drowsily.
