After the Bolshevik revolution of 1917 a Russian nobleman surrounded by an aura of mystical warrior continues the struggle in Mongolia and manages to restore the monarchy in that republic. Before falling into the hands of the Communists, he sends the Mongolian treasure to save it from his enemies.
In the current age the members of an informal community of researchers called Bluthund keep track of that treasure in the Gobi Desert facing attacks from fearsome Mongol bandits, terrible sandstorms and persecutions of another rival organization working in the shadows.
The findings in the Gobi lead them to a much more decisive search in Tibet with amazing and disturbing results.

 Selma covered her face, while Jack and Dennis could not come out of amazement produced by the disturbing fact. The girl was in an altered emotional state and her look seemed lost; she was still holding in her left hand the pendulum that oscillated visibly; everybody realized that it was once more the artifact that had driven her there. Jack took the young woman by the arm and led her to the entrance of the hall and then to the corridors they had crossed to get there. As he passed next Dennis, he muttered. 


 “She is in a state of hypnotic trance perhaps induced by her use of the pendulum. I'm going to take her outdoors.” 


 "Are you going to leave Martín alone with that girl?” 


 “I do not think he needs me, not even that he realizes I'm here.”
