Chapter 30

I felt a bit guilty that I didn't do anything the whole day, as I just read a book once Saira left, but it was nearly five and time to go to the pub for work.

I didn't realise it was getting dark again. Funnily enough, it seemed the whole day I avoided the daylight, becoming a creature of the night. Or one lazy person who couldn't be bothered to go out for a walk.

The day was so nice it didn't exactly prepare me for Mark.

"Oh, princess, you are here. We have been waiting in anticipation for you to come," he greeted me when I entered the pub. Did I do something? Mark was looking at me suspiciously as if I did. Maybe honesty was the best policy.

"Lovely to see you too." I smiled, waiting for him to expand on what was going on, but that didn't change Mark's grim face expression or made him talk more.

"Did I do something?" I added as I really had no idea.
